Hot Toys for Christmas 2010: Predictions

What do you think will be the hot toy for 2010.

I'm leaning towards mighty beanz right now. My son is a huge Star Wars fan and is crazy about them. They not only do Star Wars, but Marvel Super Heros and they also have a normal line for the younger kids. I like how cheap they are. Only $5 for a package of them.

At my local Target today and grabbed the last 2 Squinkies.

Saw some Sing a ma Jig things...they looked really cheaply made. I don't think I'd pay $12.99 for it, hot item or not.

Funny you mention it...I had the Squinkies sitting out...was thinking Xmas gift for my neice.

My son saw them and went bananas. He's a Transformers/Legos fan, but wanted to play with the mini Squinkie gumball machine. Go figure.

Yeah....Squinkies are disappearing as soon as they get in here in Cincy. Could have a winner.

I really didn't think anything of leaving them sitting out...they are pretty girly and pink. I guess they have that vending-machine appeal?

The NBA Jam video game is being released in a few days.

Donkey Kong Country Returns for the Wii is out in November.

Epic Mickey is coming out in November as well.

I bet video games will be big this year - Not that I have $50 a pop to sink into games...but kids still wish for them.

Regular video games don't make much if any money in the resale market even at Christmas time. They are really easy to make and rarely get sold out. Something like the Wii Fit was a great resale item a few years ago because it came with a peripheral that required additional production.

It might be possible to make some money off the Kinect or the PS Move but I don't see either one of those as a sure thing.

Did it occur to you why squinkies are disappearing? It is because they are being bought up by resellers. There are more resellers than buyers. There are not droves of parents lining up for these. Don't say I didn't warn you when you are stuck with lots of squinkies that nobody wants. Look at the low price for them on amazon, and the number of resellers selling them below retail.

the zoolert tracker put out their picks for the year :

http://www.zoolert.com/wordpress/...k-edition/

What about the real construction? I looked at some of the refill packs and they are already starting to go for double? If the real construction thing takes off, people are going to need more of the foam wood.
