Hot Toys for Christmas 2010: Predictions

What do you think will be the hot toy for 2010.

I'm leaning towards mighty beanz right now. My son is a huge Star Wars fan and is crazy about them. They not only do Star Wars, but Marvel Super Heros and they also have a normal line for the younger kids. I like how cheap they are. Only $5 for a package of them.

Western PA. I did just notice they are giving makeup kits for free when you buy 50 or over on the dolls.Guess that's part of the increase in price TRU did from $15 to $25 (and popularity effect).

Amazon has over 1000 Kinects with free shipping for anyone interested. I don't think there is much demand right now. I went to 3 diff Walmarts theis morning, and there weren't any people looking for them. Walmart didn't exactly have any either, so I went to Target. They weren't exactly flying off the shelves there, and they had a lot of them.

I went to Walmart at 12am and there were people there and sold out of them. Then went to Target at 8am and people were there to get them also. I got 6 and will hang on to them, I think they will sell!

i dunno. i guess it depends on where you live? I pretty much could walk into any store today and get them. I did get one in addition to my preorder, just in case.

You have to be more optimistic. The release date isn't going to tell you that much. The Wii Fit was the same way on release date. I could have picked up as many as I wanted to in the morning. If you went back the next day, they were sold out in most places. I'm not saying that Kinect will have the same profit potential as the Wii Fit or the same duration. If you have the funds, I would just buy and wait until after Black Friday weekend. That is when you will know if the item is hot or not.

That's a tough one. I got the one extra, just in case. Most electronics the return policy is 30 days, so if you hold onto one for that long, you might want to keep that in mind.

Black Friday is only a few weeks away. Also, like Damsel stated the return policy is extended during the holiday season. You should be able to buy now and return prior to Christmas.

Pillow pets are really cool...I got them 2 years ago...hot item??? I don't think so...they really over saturated the maket . these are at EVERY store I go into...kind of overkill to the max..resale I see no real value. I have seen them in every grocery store...drug store..even the stores like family dollar

Well Hell laugh out loud

My son really wants one of those Loopz for Christmas. So I was watching it and hoping it wasn't like mindflex last year and shoot up a zillion dollars and be unavailable. Last year I waited to get my daughter mindflex and then couldn't find it anywhere so I was all "No way am I making that mistake again. I'm gonna get him Loopz now and just keep it in the basement till I wrap it." Then today I see on Amazon it's $4 cheaper than when I bought it Facepalm laugh out loud

this is ONE OF THE toys though...even though they are plentiful right now or even in the future...you can rest easy you got what they want...that is worth $4.00 anyday !! I already got 2 of them...

Yeah. I had been reading articles how it was one of the top ten toys this year. So you're right...if it does go up $4 is nothing. Especially since it's something he really wants I'd hate if it became completely unavailable or $80 or something. So you really think it'll be a big one this year? If so..it's the first time I actually bought something Before it went up in price/gone from the stores woot

I got a couple other members of my family already got them also...It's cheap enough and it is a specific request so they can hang around till Christmas I think it's a winner. I don't know about it becoming scarce on the shelves... but who knows?

no other guesses? I have a nice stockpile of what I thought would be hot items for the holidays, but as it stands right now, I'll be stadngin on the return line next week before Black Friday to give everything back.

I definately see the demand for some of these toys (sing-a-ma-jigs, squinkies, loopz, kinect) but I just think the stores ramped up supply and there will be plenty of everything to go around this year.
