eh, just some freaky weird deal that has left me more confused than anything.

I was driving to surprise my mom, had my two oldest with me. I stopped and got a 5 hour energy drink cause, well, I'm addicted. It was my third that day. I had taken all 3 within about 4 hours or so. I had to pull over because I got dizzy. But it didn't get better and I started to shake. Thought maybe it was a sugar issue so I drank some coke, made it worse. Drank some kool-aid (only other thing I had in the car) and it didn't help. I had eaten 2 pieces of toast early that morning but figured I'd eat something else. DS had half a peanut butter cookie left so I ate it. Went to drive again and felt REALLY sick. So I turned around thinking I'd just drive back home. It got really bad so I pulled into a Valero that had a restaurant attached. They had me sit in there and gave the kiddo's something to drink to occupy them and I got really confused. I didn't really understand who I was or where I was. They called 911.

How embarassing.

So the EMT guys get there and I am freezing cold, shaking like a leaf, nauseated, can't catch my breath, dizzy, feel like I'm going to pass out or have a seizure, and my speech is slurred. They check my blood sugar and it was 84. Blood pressure was a little high but I was also in distress. My O2 was fine at 99%. Took me and the kids in the waaambulance to some hospital 10 miles away. This entire time I'm still having these episodes. After 3 tries they get an IV in and get fluids going but I still feel like shit.

My heart beat would go from 105 down to 70 and then jump back up, then fall down. They did an EKG but it was normal. All my labs were normal. My blood sugar at the hospital was in the 120's. They said the only explanation they could come up with is caffeine overdose. They gave me a xanax to counteract the anxiety part of it and sent me home.

That was saturday and I am still so dizzy I can't drive. I still feel short of breath at times. I have a hard time talking because I get confused or studder.

I don't know what the hell is wrong with me. I don't have a doctor and can't really afford to have one. *sigh*

drama..drama
OMG

1 Glad you are okay
2 that's some scary shit
3 OMG
4 ok 84 is moderate level sugar 120 is borderling high pass 126 you are diabetic. so yes def sugars. Diabetics feel the same way you did when their sugars are too low and too high. Too low they get sick headache nausea want to pass out. Same way when thier sugar is too high same symptoms. Their is really now way to check unless you have a kit to check your sugars. Too low you need sweet to bring back up too high you need insulin to bring down.

Hun you need to find a doctor pronto. yes the caffeine drinks were a bit to much. but you still want to get checked. I had to rush DH to ER one night cause he had blurry vision and his head was hurting shortness of breath and chest pains. Glad I did High Blood Pressure (190) Sugars (160) were all high he was short of a hearattack.

I can't stress the importance of drinking those drinks with extreme caution. I had a friend who went in to a comma and ended up dying. Had diabetes self medicating with his mom's insulin lived on these drinks and up and had a seizure coma and died. Not entirely to fault with the drinks but they did have a hand. He drank them everyday.

I am sorry about your $$ situation please please get checked. Hope you feel better very very soon.

I know you don't know me, but ER stories freak me out! Back in college, I overdosed on those caffeine pills (accidentally) and had the same reaction. I have panic disorder, but the anxiety from 'holy sh!t, what did I do and why was I so stupid' was different than anxiety triggered by something else.

Take care of yourself hug
I did the same thing yeearrrs ago when in College during Finals week. Coincidentally, they were "Jet Awakes" from Target. Sat in the Campus Coffee Shop, and took too many of them, since I had 3 finals the next day. Found myself on my bicycle in the middle of the night trying to burn off that crazy feeling, and extremely nautious, and my stomach was expanded out like a gas balloon. I ended up over in Health Services on campus and getting lectured about too much caffeine is dangerous....etc..... Ended up missing all of my finals that next day, and it was something I never did again! (well, to that excess.)

But, after a week or so, I felt totally fine, so hopefully that will be the same for Dreemedayze. Comfort

Morning - I need to go start the coffee.. I don't want to be up right now..
I am sorry that you are so tired!!! It is tough with kiddos --- but we can look forward to the days when we are old and don't have to get up with kiddos --- course by then we won't be able to sleep anyway. Wink Nah - I am sending HUGS HUGS HUGS & hope you have a day that is not too stressful!

Quote from thismom4deals :
Dia - does your son wake up in the AM and then come out and find you, etc. Or do you usually go in before he is awake and the pull-up is wet? .... However, I did get quite worked up when she peed all over my couch yesterday Mad For no apparent reason. That was a nice mess to clean up. Oh well, I suppose one accident in the 4 months she's been PT'd is nothing to complain about!
It doesn't matter - most mornings I wake him up --- but there are times when he is awake when I go in. I worry that he won't grow out of this ... he is 6. I suppose I could take him to a urologist ... but I already did that when he was younger when he had to have surgery. SIGH Just keep your fingers crossed that eventually it clicks for him Smilie

Oh I can ABSOLUTELY understand your frustration with the couch mess - kiddos choose the weirdest places to have accidents :/ I think your kiddo (excluding the couch) is doing really really well!!! HUGS HUGS

Nope.. mavis wasn't under lights.. Just a rumor that is spreadingWink or a misunderstanding.

But, it is Monday now and a new week, so hopefully all will return to normal..

I am dragging today.. is it bad that I am already thinking about bedtime tonight and it is only 10:30 am??
Well - I am hurt by this rumor ... distressed by it ... I think we need some formal explanation of the rumor ... why it was started ... the intent of the instigator ... profuse apologies for my believing a false rumor when I rely on this board to provide me knowledge of Mavis' well-being ... and reparations for the suffering I felt when worried that Mavis was truly under those lights. Frown Evil laugh out loud

Oh I am sorry - it IS Monday - back to normal progamming ... little Miss M went poopie in the potty for the first time!!! YEAH!

Don't feel badly about thinking about bedtime ... I am as well!!! HUGS

I really hope that this passes quickly ... or that you can find a doc who will see you and make payment arrangements (I have had to do that before) so that you can make sure you are ok! Sending HUGS HUGS HUGS & P & PT!!!!!! Be careul and avoid those drinks for the moment!!!

Different thought.. what is everyone looking at purchasing for your kiddos for Christmas? Already thinking ahead esp. since T doomsday hit here
I'm working on DSi XLs for 3 of my kids, I already have a Flip for another one, and the oldest is married and buys himself whatever he wants, so I have no idea for him.

On that note, they have started setting Halloween stuff up EEK! That means the next seasonal spot will be Christmas after that.

I agree..I hardly ever answer my phone.

Quote from love2beeamom :
so, my DH is downstairs watching something in his theater room and the stupid surround sound is so loud it is shaking the floor.. my oldest son is down in his room. I hear my 2 year old crying and begging for someone to help her potty as she bangs on everyone's door, but no one helps her. After a few minutes I went down and she was dancing around and holding herself... I opened the door just long enough to yell at DH.. why do men play the TV so darn loud??? I could not stand watching something so loud.

Update on my oldest son.. so, he broke up with his GF Friday night, and yesterday he is all happy and tells me they are going to be "best friends" now So, I pretty much tell him as a wise parent, that I doubt that will work so well.. It will be very hard to be "friends" with the person you said the day before that you loved and hoped to marry one day. I personally think it is odd.. As of Tuesday, she needed a break and some space, so they weren't talking on the phone, texting, etc.. Friday they break up, and they talked on the phone for hours saturday... I think my son is just head over heals for this girl, and is so happy that she is talking to him again, that he is accepting the friend thing without thinking it through.. I wonder how he will like being a "best friend" when she wants to date someone else. I told him that I think they should definitely end on nice terms and it is okay to talk at church and stuff, but I don't think they can be the buddies he thinks they will.. Just won't work.. but, I am a stupid mom, so what do I know

Off topic (well heck, I guess the whole thread is).. anyone here ever try that "perfect brownie" pan??
Both my DH and my dad watch TV that way. Drives me nuts. Me, I always have subtitles on and keep it low. I like reading more than watching anyways. I can't just do 1 thing, I am always multi-tasking.

Sounds like your DS ex-girlfriend found someone she liked ("let's take a break") , and then started seeing him ("the breakup") , and now the new guy may not be the best for her, so she's keeping her options open. Women are so complicated! laugh out loud (Admit it, we all remember being a teen and thinking Mom doesn't know my situation, because no one else has ever felt this way about someone.)

My oldest nephew used to sleep walk. Two true stories:
He fell down an entire flight of stairs sleepwalking (broke his right arm in 3 places) and dislocated his OTHER shoulder-arm socket. Basically couldn't do anything with his arms for many weeks.

Several years ago SIL lived one and a half blocks from a major highway with no houses behind her, and had a huge pond to the right of their house. Brother was woken up in his bed by the dog next door licking his face. The front door was open (which allowed the dog in), and nephew was no where to be found. They found him about 100 ft from the road (he had walked around the pond) and he was still asleep, walking towards the road.

We thank God for the dog! They put a bar lock on the outside doors at the top, so he couldn't open the door and get out anymore.
EEK! My son sleepwalks sometimes to, but luckily it's just when he has to pee really bad, and he will start screaming. He doesn't get too far.

My DD sleeps with her eyes open, now that is creepy!

You are not alone. I have had weird symptoms, including the ones you describe, and more for the last few years. I have a really hard time talking sometimes. When I get sick, it gets worse. I can't remember the names of simple objects. I forget what I am doing (I was serious when I said I can't remember if I conditioned my hair). This is also why sometimes (ok, a lot) when you read my posts it looks like words are missing. It's because I have forgotten what I was typing. A few years ago, I had an almost photographic memory, low blood pressure, could use caffeine, and about a million other "normal" things that I miss so much now! My husband says it's "old age", but it's not. It was sudden and quick, and I just turned 34.

After many doctors and many tests, I finally found a doctor that was bound and determined to figure out what is going on with me. Turns out that I have Lyme's disease. It is Stage 3, which is I've had it for months or years before "treatment". The Lyme thingies (can't remember if they are a virus or what the exact name for it is) are corkscrew shaped, so it can go thru blood, tissue, muscle, everything. There isn't a lot that is known exactly about Lyme, and there is much debate about it, but they are beginning to see a connection with Lyme and 4 diseases that have unknown origins. Alzheimers, Parkinson's, MS, and 1 other one. I know it has completely messed me up, and I have some of the weirdest things happen. For example, when I sweat, I bleach my clothes. Not just underarms (that it could be attributed to deodorant), but many places. The weirdest is my hair. I'm blonde anyways, but when I sweat a lot and often, my hair gets that weird reddish color that it gets when you bleach it with peroxide. It also gets very brittle and breaks and falls out often. When I go and get my hair cut, they always make a comment about, "if you would get your hair cut more often" and "if you wouldn't dye your hair". Umm.. I've never dyed my hair, I don't use a hair dryer or any other hair appliance, it's just my body's PH is off.

I also, and never did before, now have adverse reactions to caffeine. Sodas are fine in moderation, but if I have an energy drink or even the Migraine medicine with caffeine in it (Goody's, Excedrine, ect..) I get jittery, feel sick to my stomach, dizzy, usually throw up, and then take a good long nap before I can feel somewhat normal again.

Jamie - I hope you find out what's wrong, and feel better!

Weird thing today happened at work. I was stocking in Domestics, and I had to do a double take at the clearance end cap. Sitting on it was a comforter, in a bag, with a big Wal-Mart clearance sticker on it. I pull the comforter off, and it's the Wal-Mart brand. The comforter itself didn't match the picture (not even close), and was full of burn marks and some other yellow baby poop looking stain (which you can plainly see thru the bag). Upon close inspection, the clearance sticker was from 08/2008! There was no bar code on the package anywhere.

The ETL was PISSED! She's normally a really good natured, always in a good mood, wish you could be her, person. OMG So, some smart person at GS had to have taken the comforter back, probably didn't even look at it, just looked at the receipt and typed in the DPCI off that. Then, a salesfloor person had to put it on the endcap! Besides that fact that most of my team, and even one of the in-training TLs walked past it this morning without a second thought. Heads are going to roll for this one! I thought it was pretty LMAO

I have nev er drank those 5 hour energy drink, I have considered because I am always feel like I'm lagging. I'm a big caffeine drinker, I sometimes have dizzy spells. And frequent headaches as a result.

This year though... it was bad. A pile of gift wrapped fail.

I got a box of "gourmet" hot chocolate from my DBF... when it was over 90 degrees out. That was all he gave me - plus I still have boxes and boxes of Swiss Miss from last year.

His family gave me assorted jewelry - after I had told them only last month I don't like to wear any.

Ltl7- that sounds like a very scary disease to have, I honestly no very little about but just from what you described it sounds awful. Anything that would slow me down mentally or physically would drive me nuts I am very idenpendent and always doing several things at once.

On another note sounds like your on the good list at work, can u imagine if a customer found that comforter! OMG

Thank you for the recap! We did have a good vacation. Could have caught more fish, but isn't that always the way?

The Target where I usually shop is in Mason City. I occasionally go to Fort Dodge but it's an hour either direction and Mason City is a super plus I just like Mason better that Fort Dodge.

I haven't had any problems or restriction there in the past. I don't usually go overboard either, but since I get there so rarely I have used 4 - 5 identical coupons in the past with no problems or questions.

I always warn (with a smile) my cashier that I have a ton of coupons. When I got in line the first time, I mentioned coupons and she told me that they had had a policy change could now only accept 2 per transaction. She was very nice -- not at all the "so there" attitude. So, I told her I would step off somewhere else and divide my cart into multiple transactions. She just said ok and acted like that was fine.

After I divided everything into another cart, a carry basket, and a pile on the floor including the appropriate the coupons. I proceeded to head to the check out again. The first cashier had a line so I went to another one. I said something about multiple transactions because the other girl had told me I could only use two and she said that yeah, it's a new policy and was because people were getting gift cards and returning stuff for cash and that the limit help curtail that.

Anyway, to make a short story long look around I don't think it was just the one cashier but they didn't have any problem with my 3 transactions or my daughter's 2. Nor did they have a problem with my C9 socks.

I haven't been to HyVee to do the cereal deal. Didn't even know about it. We left last Sat. so the new ad wasn't out yet and I haven't even bothered to look at it since we got back. It's HyVee, it's not like there is usually anything worth getting too excited about! Leave it to them to toss out a deal when I'm not looking.

It would be a very rare occurrence for it to be worth your while to drive 45 minutes to HyVee. Hell, it's not usually worth a 5 minute drive to HyVee. The cereal deal that thismom4deals mentioned is the exception rather than the rule.

Once in a while they will have something really good but for the most part their sales are a joke -- and what they occasionally think of as "Red Hot Deal" is enough to make you fall on the floor laughing at them.

We do have a HyVee thread in the grocery section. It's quite the relaxed thread since there is usually very little to report. Come on over.

I just live in a really rural area where there is a only HyVee and a Fareway and HyVee happens to be the lesser of two evils so to speak. That's all I have unless I want to drive an hour each way to Target or Wal-Mart.

Any of you buy/try the Harvest Cookies with the $1 bakery cookie. They are so yummy! Was eating one a day last week as an afternoon snack at work last week until I noticed last night they had over 450 calories per cookie! EEK! for that many calories I'm sure I could have found something much more decadent tasting and with a larger portion size.

I only have 3-4 left but I think I'll try only eating 1/2 per day.

...Weird thing today happened at work.

So we are back to poop again. Big Grin

Bill went to the HyVee near East Town mall on Sat. and got 6 boxes of Cheerios for .29 after the coupon and CAT. They had a few varieties on sale for 2/$5 but not the Honey Nut Cheerios that I asked for, so he got the regular. I didn't know about the deal til after he left so he didn't use any q's....a MM would have been better but 6 boxes for .29 works for me! HTH!! heart
