The only good thing I can say about my house is that it's clean. I am an almost freak when it comes to cleaning. My dh calls me 'mink' a female version of monk.

I am daring enough to post pictures, but my house isn't pretty like Teri's. We own our home but we are poor folks..lol..DH works in the automobile business and well that should say it all. We have been scrapping pennies for the last 18 months. But no worries, we have plenty of socks, shirts, and fruit snacks!

I love it, too heart Since we are expecting another little girl in a few weeks - I was already thinking that I wish I lived near a beach and where can I find a cute tutu like that one laugh out loud

Quote from Dec12Girl :
Rachael - So you think that it will finally stop being erratic??? I am on synthetic thyroid med now - but they are still adjusting & doing blood draws every two weeks - so far we have been unable to stablilize. I have a question ... for the last (maybe 10 days) I have been experiencing ... what I would call almost arthritic pain ... every single joint/muscle with sharp pain ... it is aggrivating my back and throwing that into spasm (my back is not my friend) but is this all part of a thyroid as well??? Also did you have numbness&shaking in your hands & feet (randomly not all the time) ... is that also this stupid thyroid? Sorry - just thought you might know having been through this ... looking for light at the end of the tunnel.
Dia, I am so sorry you are going through all of this Comfort They told me after my surgery (they removed my entire gland since there was cancer everywhere) that I would have fibromyalgia for the rest of my life. Funny enough, after I started taking Synthroid, my back stayed in place better and I haven't been to a chiro in years (I used to go almost weekly). BUT, I have always lived with muscle pain so that didn't change for me or get better. I don't have shaky hands but I do have poor circulation and always have - wonder if it's related at all.

I'm thinking every 2 weeks is not really enough time to let your levels even out. Also, talk to your doc about adding Cytomel and lowering the Synthroid a bit. One works for T3 and one works for T4 (I *think* I'm saying it right) and it works wonders for my SIL feeling better. They won't change mine right now (b/c of being pg) but my oncologist wants to see me as soon as she's born (another scan since I haven't been passing my tests) and I'll ask then. woot

Quote from gt6mk31 :
Yes, your thyroid can be and probably is causing the pain. Welcome to the roller coaster. It will eventually get better. I don't know about perfect, but definitely better.

Once you get to the point where your tests are showing that you are in the normal range, if you still don't feel well, don't just live with it. My TSH levels were sitting right smack dab in the middle of normal and I felt horrible, miserable, wanted to sleep 18 hours a day, couldn't function, pain, etc. Fortunately, my dr. treats symptoms and patients, not numbers. I take a really high dose (250 mcg) and my last TSH was low - bordering on the hyper range, but I can function again. Just don't let them tell you that you are normal when you know you aren't.
I agree with the advice of don't settle for 'not normal' - I hate that doctors tell me how I should feel or that that is all the better it will get. Until I mentioned it to the oncologist (no endo's around here) he had never heard of taking the synthroid/cytomel combo before even though I looked on the web and lots of people say it's all that worked for them.

I'm a *slug* all day long and I take 325 mcg. EEK! At my first appt with the oncologist he said at that dose, he was expecting a 350 lb man not a 150 lb girl. I told him I haven't lost any weight since after my last baby and that's the truth (weight loss is an indicator that your levels are too high). *shrugs* Hopefully they'll figure us all out soon.

I painted the master bath one first, to test. It had no problems and held up. So I painted the kitchen. Bad idea! Now they are black and pink (scratches). Good thing we hate people, so no one ever comes in the house.

But, next time you are at T, and if they have the Pet costumes (the ones back in the Seasonal section, not the pet section ones), check them out! Some of them, I think my dog would kill me in my sleep if I put them on him! Although, I do like the Mounted Moose Head one.

Man... I feel like I'm hardly ever on here - I try to get on and read, but I always get sidetracked or sumpin...

Quick notes...

Mavis had her weight check this morning - came out exactly where doc wanted her, so all is good with that. Next week are her ultrasounds, but I am fairly certain all will be well for that too.

Went to my favorite Kroger today. I didn't hear the entire conversation, but it sounds like someone is trying to pass off some fake coupons! EEK! Makes me Blowup since this used to be my bestest couponing store - but may not be if someone is doing that kind of crud. Frown Frown GRRRRRR!!! Why are these dorks ruining it?!

Found out that the kid who stole my phone (kid as in 19/20ish) actually lives in our neighborhood. I suppose he either took the phone out of the car or I dropped it while getting in/out of the car and he picked it up. Anyway, apparently he is currently residing in jail because 2 days ago he tried to rob a neighbor's house and beat the snot out of/tried to stab the 16 year old kid that was home at the time. :shiver:

There are apartments right across the street that went Section 8 last year. I just don't get why that draws so many funky people. Frown We've had so much crazy stuff happening there this year - and other than your "normal" teenage panks/change from the car thievery - there hasn't been the break-ins, murder, and attacks like we've seen this year. It's getting a bit scary.

We had a nice weekend - great weather! DH had some friends over last night and we did a mini-cookout (just some burgers and dogs), and just hung out. It was nice.

Well, I need to get caught up on the new TQ's - anyone try them out yet?? Lemme know!!

Oh - do 992's beep at T?? Thanks!!

Ank, that's insane! wth is wrong with ppl? Soo happy to hear miss Mavis is gaining her weight and I, like you, think she's gonna be perfectly fine with her u/s. Smilie

Okay, I'm not posting pics of the inside of my house because it's like a friggin toy store but I will post pics of the outside once I get my halloween things up. Big Grin

We have a long hall type thing at the entrance to our front door (outside leading to the front door) and I think it's going to make for an awesome Halloween place. Evil

Where in the store(s) do you usually find the mis-tints?? I hear ppl talk about getting them but I've never found any. Figure maybe I am not looking in the right place.

We are having similar problems here, just WAY increased crime. Our city is right next to a larger city....that city got flooded out in 2008, a lot of the flooded were homes in not-so-good areas and those people have branched out into the neighboring cities. Pair that with the economy, etc. and it hasn't been pretty. Just this week a bank about 2 blocks from our house was robbed...a couple months ago it was a pizza place a few blocks away. Lots of home robberies in the city in general. Luckily we are on a busy, well-lighted street, and the fire dept. is right across the street so I think our location is pretty good. All of this has made DH paranoid and he doesn't even want me to have my windows open during the day for fear someone will get in Confused

Glad to hear Mavis came out OK at the dr. appt.!!

Oh, and on 992's....they confuse me LMAO I've had most of them beep when I could find no other reason for the q beeping, but I've had a rare occasion where one goes through fine Dontknow

Yeah, 992's have always beeped on me but I also rarely have the oppertunity to use them. However, when at my moms I found some coupons for .50/1 Glade spray and it's normal but has a 9 in front. I've never seen that on glade.

Thank you SO much for posting this. I was able to get an order in before they started changing the prices. They said it was a price mistake (I'll say Coverlaugh) I got so much stuff, paper towels, chlorine free baby wipes for dd, laundry detergent, flour, chips, soda, oatmeal, sponge towels, I cant even remember.

Joel is taking a turn for the worst today. On our way to the hospital.

I am on my way to a Dr appt (overdue by a few years Embarrassment ) so I kinds skimmed over the last 2 pages and posting a quick reply:

Mistints are usually in the paint dept. on some plastic shelves by the paint desk. At least at Home Depot and Lowes, that's where I have always seen them. You can also ask. Now they are usually funky colors, since people were ordering the paint, then leaving, coming back in a few days and buying the paint they ordered as a mistint. Now, they have to add other tints to make it a different color.

Myluv, I love the room. I did that for my kids when we moved in to this house. It also had to be gender neutral. What I did was got some green for grass, and sky blue, made a wavy line, and painted green under, and blue on top, including the ceiling.

I then found coloring book pages of their favorite characters online, put them in photoshop, blew them up to around 2'-3' tall, printed it out, taped it together, got some transfer paper sheets (think black carbon paper between sheets in old forms) from Michaels, a black paint pen, and a bunch of the cheap craft paint. I would put the transfer paper on the wall with the blown-up color book page over it. Trace out the character, take it off, outline with the black paint pen, then paint the inside with craft paint. Add trees and rocks and stuff for effect. My kid's room had (kid) life-size Tommy & Chucky, Dora & Boots, Caliiou and Rosie, Max & Ruby, Arthur & D.W., Backyardagins, Maggy and the Ferocious Beast, Fairly Oddparents, and a few others. It was really cool. It's painted over now, since they are older, but we can still go in there and see outlines of some of the different characters.

I will try to find pics and post them later.

I don't know anymore... My oldest DD was like, "ooh... you should tell the police he stole your phone...." DH and I said "No way!" I'll take the $40 hit and stay out of it! I don't need any funky weirdo coming after me all because of a phone! Some things are just better left alone.

Usually, the mis-tints are in the paint aisle. I typically have found them on some kind of an endcap OR by the paint registers. Some places keep them in back or behind the counter though, so you may want to ask. I always figure mis-tints are great because I tend to mix paints anyways - so I can typically get whatever color I'm looking for with some mixing.

Thanks for the info on the 992's.

I guess I'll just have to try the 992's and see. They go through without a beep at my Kroger - so that's nice. I have a feeling I'll be getting a lot of free toothpaste/toothbrushes and coloring books!

The double 9's always go through at my Target without a beep, so that's nice.

Good morning everybody! I do believe fall has arrived. It's really windy today -- well, this is northern Iowa, that's pretty normal, but today it has that fall smell and feel. Probably going to shut down the pool this week, the water temp has dropped, dropped, dropped. Frown

Last time I had the labs my T4 was good, but as I said, number don't say it all.

I had recently sort of decided that I wanted to try Armour for various reasons then I started doing more reading so I had lots of info and come to find out, they have recently changed it and it isn't working as well for lots of people that it has worked great for for years.

Weight loss -- hahahahaha that's cute. Seriously, I keep saying today is the day or tomorrow is the day that I really seriously knuckle down and get some of this weight off. I am fatter than I have ever been in my life and I HATE it. Hmmm, do we need a hypo weight loss support bitch and moan group here? I'll do low carb since it's the only thing that works for me. Hmmm, fall is arriving, I don't think the jeans will zip. Better check that out unless I want frost bit knees.

If you overhear anything like that again, you could tell them that you are an avid coupon user and that you hate that blah blah blah and offer to research that coupon for them or regularly provide them with a list of counterfeits. Do a little Public Relations work, you know, in all your spare time! laugh out loud

Terrible memory here -- are you in the Cedar Rapids area?

Most of the time you will find the mistints in the paint departments, usually on a bottom shelf and often near the mixing/shaking equipment. If the store has a clearance section, obviously check there. Also check places where you might not normally go to buy paint due to the price -- like hardware stores.
I've never done it but I know a lot of landfills take old paint to dispose of it properly, call and see if you can go out and take some.

Gotta run to town and get my newspapers and recycle them. Yeah, I know there are no inserts today, but they let me have all the leftovers so I clear them out for them every week, inserts or not. While I am in town, I'm going to run to the court house and register daughter's new car for her and get my tags renewed. She worked 11 - 7 last night, so whenever she gets up around noon, we are going to head to the big city shake head (bout an hour away) to the Super T.

Two days this week I am going to be in towns with a Walgreens, so doesn't it figure, there is just nothing going on there that excites me.

My kids rooms, play room and school room used to be in a upstairs that was an attic but has been sort of/mostly finished. The stairway was kind of narrow and steep. I did green steps and light blue walls and then used craft paint to do a tree, birds, flowers, etc. I did flowers on the risers of the steps too. It all stayed and held up just fine for years. We have a renter in that house now and last time I was in there it was still there -- she has lived there 13 years.

I had forgotten all about that. So, yeah, if you want to do something, just buy the cheap craft paint for your art work. It will work fine.
