Ok my area of expertise... kinda LOL If she is bringing her pets.. how big is her dog? Normally the airline will allow each person to carry on one pet that can fit in a carrier under their seat for 100 bucks... then the other animal *if larger than under seat or too large would have to go into cargo and it can be pricey.. just a thought... you do have to call the airline in order to do so HTH!!

Thanks. I made the Tutu. I also took pics of her in an orange and blue gator tutu. If you google "how to make a tutu" you'll find a million sites and even videos on the subject. It's really, really easy.

I'm in for this. I lost 65lbs after DS was born and then gained a bunch back when I got pregnant with DD. I've lost some, but I still need to drop about 25lbs. I was doing good before vacation, but now I don't even want to get on the scale.

Haven't been to T in a week. But, DS starts pre-k tomorrow so I'm excited to have a few mornings a week with just the baby to shop with!

I think it goes hand in hand. If you feel that people look at you as fat, you want to do something about it. But when you do it, you are tired and well, let's be honest, exercise sucks.

I bought the wii fit and haven't used it ONCE. I got on it, did the hoola hoop thing for like 20 seconds, then got off and told DH I'd rather sit and watch him do it. It isn't that I don't exercise, it just isn't fun. Give me coupons, target, and 5 hour energy and I can lose 60 pounds. I don't know why. Target motivated me.

Now the updates have hit and I stopped the 5 hour energy. I've gained 3 lbs. in about four days. It makes me physically ill to know I'm a donut and large pizza away from gaining it all back. I refuse to let that happen. I REFUSE!

Okay, so obviously I needed my own pep talk. Sorry!

oh and if we make a weightloss support group, can we do it away from here? There are certain aspects of losing weight that I think are better left private.

I dunno what size I am right now. I'm very squishy though... *laugh*

I do plan to go crazy wild and start working out when my 6weeks post-partum is up - well, that's what I say anyways. They'll still have to drag me kicking and fussing.

I'm so addicted to carbs too - not sure how I'll do trying to come off of that - I suspect I'll be a mess! I think I gained around 30ish pounds with this pregnancy - and I had already gained a few pre-pregnancy. I'm short(ish?) at 5'4" and the online BMI calculators say I should be between 111-140lbs. I think I was 136ish when I got married - and that was a good weight on me. I don't want to be stick figure thin - but it would be nice if I was a bit firmer and less jello-y! I'm guessing I weigh around 160 right now, so I am thinking a good 20-25 lbs will have to go for me to look the way I want.

DH is hobbling around today with a flare up of gout. My stomach still hurts and the only thing I can think of is that I had a hamburger yesterday with 2 pieces of cheese on it. But it's weird that it took this long to start acting up. Ah well... so goes the mysteries of the human body, eh?

Can you tell I'm a bit bored today? Ugh. So... if I'm possibly going to be at Kmart tomorrow - what should I get??

Mavis pees a LOT. She's constantly soaking her dipes! I can't believe how many we've gone through with her already. She's doing pretty well now at sleeping somewhat longer periods of time. She's had a bit of a rough afternoon today, but I am hoping that means a little more sleep tonight. I think I'm adjusting well too - making it through more of the day without needing several naps.

I love how she smells too - why is it babies smell so lovely - then they become toddlers and get all kinds of stank??

I think everyone has something they would change about themselves, nature of the beast, I guess. I have consistently added at least 10lbs with each child, and I need to lose it. I was very proud of myself for walking this morning, and I think I can make it a regular thing. Plus I've been doing ok with eating so far today. No particular diet, just watching what I eat. We'll see how long I can keep that up. I would love to lose 20 lbs by Christmas. That gives me what, 3 1/2 months? Totally doable!!

I desperately need to shop, but cannot motivate myself to get my coupons together and lists made!

One freebie from Walgreens - Comet cleaner is 2/$1, so free after $1/2 mfqs!! These always go ridiculously fast at my yard sales, priced at $1/ea. 100% profit is fine by me!!!

And Meesh you don't have to be artistic to do a great kids room these days there are so many easy alternatives, like decals and adhesive murals, or sponge/stamps or stencils. All you need is a idea! The possibilities are endless. I say pic a theme or color and build from there, and I envie your 7 bedroom house! We need to desperately upgrade into something larger.

Aint that the truth! Just like me and my ex bff both had are first children About a month apart, after she had her baby she was almost the same weight as before her baby, but she would say but I still got stretch marks and my stomach doesn't look the same. Me on the other hand I had gained 70 pounds during my pregnancy (dumb dr said I need it, she's full of crap) any ways I ended up being 175, before dd I was 125 and happy at that weight, I got back down to 145 which took years (try 3!) Then I got pregnant with ds was up to 190, and after he was born I stopped weighing myself because its just too damn depressing my current weight is unknown ds is 4 and I don't think I've lost anything, I need to get my ass on a scale and see how bad it really is! It sux because my gut is getting bigger,and I think its because I sit for such long hours, I wanna get a mini bike or stair stepper for at my desk so I can at least get some kind of exercise.

Don't worry about it... I tend to dislike most women as they tend to be bitchy... no offense anyone here... my DH tells me this is the only group of women that I am very fond of... I think it is because many times they tend to be alittle too catty for my liking.. oh well!! LOL Hugs!!

dxh has him at the surgeon's office. I'm on standby until he calls me to let me know if they are admitting him. I'm just across the block from the university medical center so quicker to get there from work then go to the doc's office first. Gosh, we had such a weekend, he was sick again, still with what we thought was pneumonia. Turns out it was the tubing from the last shunt revision had somehow infiltrated his lung and caused it to fill with fluid and get infected.

Plus, the shunt isn't working so add that on top. Poor guy has been sick for months now and I just hate it for him. The worst thing as a mother (as you all know) is not being able to help our kids. I hope this will be the last time and I hope they can clear his lungs up.

Oh, count me in on the weight loss challenge, although I just weighed in and have lost 14 pounds in the last 3 weeks.

Computer still sucks - haven't heard from the freaking laptop repair people (it's only been a week ) - nervously awaiting the damage estimate. Anyway, that's why I'm not on much. This chair makes my butt and feet fall asleep. I hate desktops.

Speaking of which. My sister has a Gateway laptop. I have no idea what specific model but she needs a power cord and battery. She said they sell universal chargers but does that mean it will fit any Gateway laptop? Sorry to sound like a boobtard, I just don't want to spend money needlessly.

My ovary is killing me. I ovulated saturday (intense ovulation cramping) and now I have cramps on the right side. GGRRR I hate being a friggin woman.

I cleaned the entire kitchen top to bottom. I hate cleaning out the fridge. It always looks empty afterwards.

Long day at the hospital with DS. Surgery is tomorrow. They have him on oxygen and are giving him breathing treatments so he's resting better tonight. I swear this shunt thing is gonna make us all crazy, if it's not pressure in his head it's fluid by his lungs

Being at a university medical center is humbling, sad, hopeful all rolled into one. No matter how bad you 'think' you have it....being there will remind you how fortunate you are. I met a lady on our floor (neuroscience) today. Her name is Brenda. Brenda's daughter is 21 and just had a baby boy 10 days ago. The day she brought him home from the hospital she collapsed and went into seizures. She had a brain aneursym and is in intensive care. The outlook is dim at best. I don't know her name, just that she is Brenda's daughter. I spent a good bit of time listening to a mother's anguish today and it has affected me like nothing has in a long time. I feel like I can't pray enough for this young girl with a new baby. Please send positive healing thoughts to her.

On a more upbeat note, Kallison I lived in Anchorage on Elmendorf AFB for 12 years. It was an amazing place but I'm glad to be back in the lower 48.

Amazingly enough, they didn't cancel it I got so much stuff the UPS guy is going to find a way to sabatoge me for sure The 6 cases of paper towels will only be the beginning (you all know I couldn't pass up cheap paper towels) They were out of the TP Can't believe the Boylan's sodas at .67 for a 12 pack They sell for 6.00/4pk at the store.

one more thing about the weight loss. With the diabetes threat creeping up on me I've had to change my eating habits and in looking for foods I can eat I came across some very interesting articles on High Fructose Corn Syrup and how it causes Metabolic Syndrome, Diabetes II, and OBESITY. Like the cereal commercial says, 'in moderation it's fine' but how can we eat it in moderation when it's in almost everything we buy? And it seems as if the US is the only place that uses it to the extreme (if at all)...and it also seems that we have been eating candy, cakes and pies for centuries(and not getting fat) but the obesity problems in the US have been getting out of control since they started adding this stuff to our foods. These articles also said that it affects the pancreas and it makes us hungry just by eating it. I've been feeling so much better since I've cut back on the carbs and started making my own bread in the bread machine (this stuff is even in our breads) and eating foods without the HFCS.

Aww Teri sending many prayers and HUGS to you... I hope your son's surgery goes well tomorrow... please keep us posted!! Aww I really hope that young mom will be OK...sounds so horrid... my heart breaks when I hear stories like that.. sending many healing vibes for her!!

I've had the soda before. It's really good, but takes some getting used to if you are used to coke and pepsi which is carbonated water and you guessed it "HFCS"

It is all natural and uses real cane sugar and you can actually 'taste' the flavors in the cola. Tastes like Coke did before they took the sugar out and put the HFCS in, like the 'old' Coke. I think you'll really enjoy it.

I committed the biggest SD sin today. I called Vitacost because I went to place another order and all the prices went up when I went to check out. Of course she said it was a pricing error and they had just gotten an email saying that they could only finish the current order and then no more. Whew, I lucked out as she added all the extra stuff for me. At Earth Fare, Arrow Mills whole wheat flour is 5.19 a bag. I got 8 bags for 4.00 from VC. In the deep freezer it will go I have Tide out the wazoo, but I couldn't resist the 'green' laundry soap for 1.xx when it should have been 12.xx. Threw in 24 bottles of that too anyway, she told me that they are going to honor all the orders that were placed before the price change

oh, did you see they had Method Laundry detergent mispriced to for 2.00 a bottle?
