.teri., that is so sad. An old neighbor of mine got custody of their nephew when the mom died unexpectedly during birth. I was pregnant at the time with my first and it was very scary. I hope that she somehow manages to pull through and I hope the surgery with your son is as smooth as possible with a speedy recovery.

Hope everything goes ok with ds tomorrow. It definitely puts thing into perspective with my ds issue, makes its seem so minimal in comparison. And its so true there are a lot more people that are far worse off, your stories of the women daughter, is really truly sad sending positive thoughts her way.

So I hit target I wasn't planning too but dd needed a few things for her lunch box, and my mr clean qs did come in so I figured wth, lol.

I got a tan merona dress marked down to $6.24 use the 3 tq was beepless! This dress also comes in purple and like a sea foam green. I'm hoping to find me the purple one too. Also found two girls toddler jeans $2.48 use the $2 tq got them for .48 cents each I have two nieces these will be good for in about another year or two, for .48 cents I couldn't pass it up.

I have a "gift crate" that I collect for all the neices and nephews. I'm hoping to get our garage fixed this winter, my dream is to have it lined with bubba shelves and to have designated crates per each child, etc. And of course my stock.

I've had the soda before. It's really good, but takes some getting used to if you are used to coke and pepsi which is carbonated water and you guessed it "HFCS"

It is all natural and uses real cane sugar and you can actually 'taste' the flavors in the cola. Tastes like Coke did before they took the sugar out and put the HFCS in, like the 'old' Coke. I think you'll really enjoy it.

I committed the biggest SD sin today. I called Vitacost because I went to place another order and all the prices went up when I went to check out. Of course she said it was a pricing error and they had just gotten an email saying that they could only finish the current order and then no more. Whew, I lucked out as she added all the extra stuff for me. At Earth Fare, Arrow Mills whole wheat flour is 5.19 a bag. I got 8 bags for 4.00 from VC. In the deep freezer it will go I have Tide out the wazoo, but I couldn't resist the 'green' laundry soap for 1.xx when it should have been 12.xx. Threw in 24 bottles of that too anyway, she told me that they are going to honor all the orders that were placed before the price change

oh, did you see they had Method Laundry detergent mispriced to for 2.00 a bottle?

Long day at the hospital with DS. Surgery is tomorrow. They have him on oxygen and are giving him breathing treatments so he's resting better tonight. I swear this shunt thing is gonna make us all crazy, if it's not pressure in his head it's fluid by his lungs

With the diabetes threat creeping up on me I've had to change my eating habits and in looking for foods I can eat I came across some very interesting articles on High Fructose Corn Syrup and how it causes Metabolic Syndrome, Diabetes II, and OBESITY. Like the cereal commercial says, 'in moderation it's fine' but how can we eat it in moderation when it's in almost everything we buy? And it seems as if the US is the only place that uses it to the extreme (if at all)...and it also seems that we have been eating candy, cakes and pies for centuries(and not getting fat) but the obesity problems in the US have been getting out of control since they started adding this stuff to our foods. These articles also said that it affects the pancreas and it makes us hungry just by eating it. I've been feeling so much better since I've cut back on the carbs and started making my own bread in the bread machine (this stuff is even in our breads) and eating foods without the HFCS.

dumb question number 2: so can one give a non-cell phone number to sign up then use the mobile coupons link to pull up whatever was sent to that number, please? thank you! in addition to the text costs for those that don't have data plans, i feel so uncomfortable about giving my cell number to marketing companies. does anyone else feel that way?

Being at a university medical center is humbling, sad, hopeful all rolled into one. No matter how bad you 'think' you have it....being there will remind you how fortunate you are. I met a lady on our floor (neuroscience) today. Her name is Brenda. Brenda's daughter is 21 and just had a baby boy 10 days ago. The day she brought him home from the hospital she collapsed and went into seizures. She had a brain aneursym and is in intensive care. The outlook is dim at best. I don't know her name, just that she is Brenda's daughter. I spent a good bit of time listening to a mother's anguish today and it has affected me like nothing has in a long time. I feel like I can't pray enough for this young girl with a new baby. Please send positive healing thoughts to her.

On a more upbeat note, Kallison I lived in Anchorage on Elmendorf AFB for 12 years. It was an amazing place but I'm glad to be back in the lower 48.

I've long thought that about HFCS - seems like a junk additive that's just used for a filler than anything of actual nutritional value which means basically that our food isn't much better than what/how they feed animals.

it is for the shunt. They did the ventriculostomy but left the shunt in place, which empties by the lung. I guess it's still working because cerebral fluid is collecting around the lung making it difficult for him to breath, so they are re-routing it to his abdomen again. Don't really know if the ventriculostomy worked or not now though

The nurse just came in, he's off to surgery now.
