Hmmm, I have always wanted a second husband. I think it would be really nice to have one to send to work and to assign all the stuff that needs done around here. Thereby, freeing up my husband to do fun stuff with me.

Good Lord woman, what did you do? Get up at the butt crack of dawn and go on litter mission? I haven't been yet. I am inhaling coffee while wearing a night shirt, blanky, and laptop... and I plan to stay that way for a while.

I've got to take that mirror out of the box and look at it -- it may or may not be a medicine cabinet. I have no idea what I am going to do with it. I just thought it was really neat looking.... and it was $4.xx -- then I figure the overage from the other things covered a couple more dollars.

Oh, on my Off! that was a steal -- the $1.50/2 coupons did not come off right. They attempted to take off eighty some cents which I think was the price of one. I had to go to Customer Service to buy it because it wasn't ringing up 75% off and the cashier (who was great with my other coupons) couldn't/wouldn't fix it. Then the CS gal couldn't figure out what to do with the coupon but she called someone and they did it. The $1.3x was mostly sales tax.

Got some produce and couple loaves for the MP French Bread. I won't be eating it but hubby and daughter love it. I got Jalapenos to stuff (yep, they are low carb and yum yum yum drool). Now I just have to figure out how to get them cleaned. Told hubby and daughter that we were each cleaning 8. I swear, I would hire someone to do it, if I could find somebody.

Did ok at Walgreens. We should be set for winter flus and colds. I have 2 bottles and 4 boxes of NyQuil and 4 boxes of Alka Seltzer Flu stuff. Not to mention the 9 bottles of Dulcolax.

Did fine with the diet. We kind of got busy shopping and didn't eat all day, finally had food around 8. I went to Wendy's and got a $0.99 Jr. Double (or something like that -- it's not the 1/2 lb. double stack, it's smaller), threw away the bun and ate the meat. At Subway they have salads -- turn any sub into a salad, so I did roast beef. Since I had only had 1 carb all day, I got some onion, cukes, and olives in it and had them use mayo (0 carbs) for my dressing with Parmesan cheese on top. Not a bad deal for $5. After I ate the meat, I ate some salad and I have most of it left, I'm eating it now. The hardest part was looking at sweet onion dressing at Subway and getting mayo. Man, I love that stuff.

My son called so in the midst of typing this I talked to him for an hour. So, I am still in the night shirt and blanky. I really need to get dressed and go get free kitty litter.... or garage spill absorber as we like to call it.

Don't they say the first week you lose water weight? I am happy, don't get me wrong, but I think the next few weeks will be "real weight".[/QUOTE]I've heard that too... repeatedly. But I'm not sure I buy it. You do lose water weight if you are doing extreme exercise, sweating it out and not replacing it. First of all, I don't do THAT kind of exercise -- I would fall over dead. Second of all, I drink more when I am dieting than I do when I am not. So, Dontknow

I am by no means a Walgreens pro. Now, when you look at the OOP remember that that is PRETAX.

Walgreens.xls

Here's My Out the Door
9 Dulcolax
3 Colgate
4 Alka Seltzer
6 NyQuil
6 highlighters -- filler @ $0.10
1 Sharpie -- filler @ $0.10
6 gallons Water
$2 Dog Toy -- filler
$2 Card Holder -- spending my last $5 RR
3 Aluminum Foil --spending my last $5 RR
2 Single cans of Arizona Tea (I needed to spend another .80 or .90 on that lst $5 RR. They were 2/$1 and we were thirsty!

$16.28 total out of pocket.
$8.81 was tax.
I should have been $2 less but I missed it when one RR didn't print, I got it made up but then just spent it. I also start with no RR and spend the last ones on whatever before I leave otherwise they will expire before I get back. Obviously, somewhere along the line, I deviated since I have 6 NyQuil. Basically, Dulcolax for overage to buy cold med with RR and coupons.

Oh and I added the water -- some of the Dulcolax has coupons on it for free water up to $2 wyb it. I bought 2 of the 1 gallon $1 jugs. the coupon only scans off $1 but she adjusted it. Next time I would probably buy the 6 pack bottles of the $1.99 1/2 gallons for ease.

I went to the dr because ive been sick going on 3 days now. My dr is weird and i can hardly understand what the hell hes talking about half the time. He put me on 4 diff meds, hopefully they work! He put me on Amoxicillin, Claritin, Prednisone and Afrin. I hope that none of it makes me tired because i have to get my boys from school in a few hours. I went to T to pick the meds up and ended up buying way 2 much stuff while waiting for them to fill my Rx. I got the biggest Loser scale finally!! Smilie it went to 50% off so I grabbed it before someone else did. Let me add that I know someone else was wanting it because when I went there on monday #1 it was well hidden behind a lot of other things and #2 the sticker still said 30% off . well today it was hidden again and someone had take the 30% sticker and tried to cover the new 50% sticker that was put on the box! So sorry to whoever wanted it Wink I need it more than you! lol At the dr today I was up 7 flipping pounds since my last visit which was only like 4 months ago! BLAH!!! My dr said "well go on weight watchers" I wanted to punch him..lol

I got lots of crap but its still in the car because..well im sick and didnt want to carry it inside. I will try to post everything later. Hope everyones having a great day Smilie

It has been reported that at least at Target what Audriannasmama said is true. HOWEVER, I would double check with your local officials if at all possible. The laws can vary state to state. I know I have a friend that works at Wags. She is on EBT and is always in need. I tried to tell her what I had heard about using the food Q's at T and how they appeared to get applied towards the non-eligible items leaving the full pre-Q food $$ eligible to be paid by EBT.

Thought she might be able to use that to her advantage to buy diapers, etc. Instead she practically threw fit in the store telling me how I was advising her of how to scam or defraud the system. I've never been on public assistance before (always just over the threshold) but I couldn't back pedal fast enough to get her to believe I had no idea that it might not be kosher to take advantage of the loophole.

She said in KS at least it is not even legal to buy eligible and non-eligible items in the same transaction OR to use ANY Q's on the eligible items.

I can kind of understand the state not allowing the mixing of eligible & non-eligible in one transaction but it blows my mind that they are refusing to allow the person to spend the EBT $$ wisely by stretching it out with Q's.
Quote from rachael_9667 :
From what I know, it doesn't interfere at all and I only read of one situation from the T thread where (b/c of TQ's) that food stamps paid for non-food purchases so I wouldn't worry about that. There are classes around here teaching recipients to use q's to stretch the money further so I know it's allowed.
Quote from audriannasmama :
It doesn't affect your ability to use the food stamps. The coupons seem to apply towards any other non-food items thus your food stamps pay for non-food items which isn't allowed.
I remember that conversation in the thread. I wasn't even thinking about it though. Once they told me that the $ rolls over, the first thought in my head was, "How far can I stretch this food money?" Thanks for your replies, guys. I'll check out info about my state. Smilie

I can't imagine that in any state you can't use a coupon with food stamps. If there is concern about how they attach, then just buy all the food separately.

Glade Tough Odor Solutions Spray 9.7 oz. Refreshing Citrus scent clearanced to $1 - $1 (08-22 SS) (08-29 RP) = Free. Smells really nice, but I love citrus.

I just got off work. Quickly posting finds, before I am off again Embarrassment

Glade Sense & Spray (only 1 scent, the one that was $6.49) is down to $5.04. I think it is because of new packaging, so it's a $.96 mm w/ -$3 MQ & -$3 TQ

Bath stuff, bronze tp holder and bronze towel ring, were down to $8.xx, so overage with $10 TQ

Best deal (thanks to HDs): 12-month Xbox Live membership for $19.99 (well, $19.25 incl. tax with TM discount) woot Someone posted in HD that they saw the ad sign for the Halo Edition Xbox had a "also available" with the 12-month Halo Xbox Live card listed as $19.99, instead of $49.99. My store still had it up! I took that puppy up to GS and had them price match. Now I just have to remember where it is for the next 3 mo. It's for my DH for Christmas. I still have 1 1600 point card from the TQ deal last year I haven't found.

I bought my kids each a backpack today, I have a few of the workbooks from one-spot's 50% off, and a few other things from BTS. I am going to save them for our way down to Port Canaveral for the cruise. It'll give them something to do.

WOW! Awesome job at Wags! I'm glad it worked out for you. I did the ducolax, nyquill/dayquill, but skipped the alka seltzer, but after seeing your scenarios I think I'll make another run today! Thanks for breaking it down.

I am not saying the person was purposely abusing or planned to. I was just saying that if the recipient did decide to try and do this all the time they may want to be careful in the "just in case" kinda way.
I don't care where or how people use their coupons and money. That's their business and I would never try to butt in and tell them otherwise.Big Grin

I agree lol - I personally don't care if EBT pays for their non-food especially when they got $45 worth of food for the price of $12 in non-food, kwim? That there is just savvy shoppin' and imo, good for the goose and the gander.

I had help from the Wags thread. I think I know how I ended up with the 2 extra NyQuil. When I missed the $2 Colgate RR the one time and then ended up getting it I then had a $5 RR and a $2 RR at the same time. So, I just did another NyQuil transaction since after coupons it was free -- making it .91 for two by the time I added sales tax and 2 0.10 fillers.

The NyQuil liquid cough rang up the wrong price, so watch that. I nearly walked away with the two bottles because that's all they had.... when I remembered that the capsules are included.

Rofl2 nod Yup, pretty much LMAO My dh actually likes going on family outings to Hy-Vee to use coupons OMG Plus, who else was gonna haul the 160 lbs. of cat litter? Big Grin Since dd gets up at the crack of dawn we usually go early and it isn't so busy then. The latter is typical for me though...morning before dh leaves for work is some of the only peace and quiet I get! I can see I am going to get nada done this afternoon though as the cat is currently sitting in my lap as I type. She is being loving today --- this is not an everyday occasion laugh out loud Guess she's happy about her new cat litter LMAO

Ugh, and there is a horrible shelf-clearer here. I read on another board yesterday that she was going at MIDNIGHT to get cat litter - and mind you she'll buy hundreds of something if it's cheap enough. I refused to go at midnight....but this is another reason I have to be there early. I end up at Walgreens right when they open a lot of Sundays because she will take everything on the shelf. Once they wouldn't let her, she called corp. and corp. told the store they had to let her buy as much as she wanted EEK! It's utterly ridiculous that someone even has the gall to do that to all of the other customersAnnoyed BUT as a result I do think our manager orders in more FARR stuff when he has the knowledge that there's going to be a good sale.

Ugh, what a pain. And, I'm sure you two aren't the only coupon shoppers there. That's a pretty good size area. I used to be close friends to someone who sometimes drives from an hour away to shop there. PM me that post.

If you know ahead of time what you are going to want, you might try asking the manager to order it for you. I have heard that other Walgreens shoppers say that has worked well for them.

I've had good luck having HyVee get me stuff too, but it hasn't been in advance of these types of "Hot Deals". If you know soon enough, I'll bet they would though -- especially where you are, if one says no, ask another. If I can't get as many as I want and there is no limit, I get a raincheck, then they order them for me.
