Got some Kohl's $5 coupons. Off to try a couple of them on Keuring K-Cups. I guess I would have to do 2 transactions. One for me and one for a relative?

Also stopping by Target to get some Charmin and Mr. Clean. Wish me luck.

Thanks for the info. on the sandals Teri!! Gonna be there this week w/q's and will look for dh!

Luckily I do not remember most of it....it was all probably way harder on my family. Just makes a person very, very thankful...and humbly grateful for every day on this earth because the reality for me is that with being allergic to a very common food this could very easily happen again. I figure I can sulk or live my life. Best just to enjoy it. Every time my dd starts doing something new I still think I could have missed this. She was about 6 mos. old at the time.

They have some very good drugs though. All the while I was knocked out and on the vent I thought I was in China....at a henhouse. But wait, it gets better. The Chinese *women* laid the eggs, NOT chickens shake head Rofl2 And it is as vivid as ever 2 yrs. later.

LMAO

I hate the whole baby-seat-on-top-of-the-cart thing. As Setsail mentioned, I know there is a lot of good reasoning behind why you should not do it but where in the heck are you supposed to put them and still have room for groceries?!? I would never have been able to carry my dd around the whole store in a sling or something and a lot of ppl have to shop w/their kids w/'em.

But what do I know? I tried the top of the cart *one* time and I am so short I couldn't see over to steer so that was a no-go laugh out loud

Wave

massive headache today... oy...

Well, I am still an emotional wreck - I'm wondering if I'm not also PMSing or something. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

I do realize I made a few mistakes yesterday. First, taking a toddler and newborn into a store by yourself for anything more than 1 item is pretty risky. Second, doing so when it's busy and it's late and everyone is getting tired and/or hungry is very dumb. Also, not having some item to occupy your toddler is probably silly too.

I will use the moby wrap next time I go shopping. I don't like carrying the car seat thing - my arms ache and feel like they are going to fall off. Plus, it feels so weird to be so far away from baby.

I think my toddler is now over 35 lbs, so I guess she shouldn't be sitting in the cart front either. I sincerely dislike those elephant carts - when the belts aren't broken, they are still way to easy to get out of. I think I will have to do some extra training with DD and get her to behave and obey better. I do NOT want her to be one of those kids that are running up and down the aisles and creating havoc.

I was going to write more, but my head hurts and Mavis is now nursing. One handed typing is a pain!!

(I want brownies...)

Haven't been able to read and post much lately.. Huge multiquote.. gonna SNIP alot of itWink

I have a box, 12, of the Green Mountain Hazelnut that I will RAOK to you if you would like to try them. I am not a fan of the flavored ones.

Just pm with addy if you want.
Thanks so much.. You are awesome!hug I was actually just telling my DH that I wish I could get one cup of several flavors/kinds to try before I bought a bunch. I have the variety pack that came with the machine, but it doesn't have alot of the ones I wanted to sample. I will PM ya!

Quote from LongTimeLurker7 :
I got there around 11. There were a few ladies who had their carts loaded with Zhu Zhus, since they are B2G1F. No signs up, but they had 2 of each of the big bubble packs, series 1-6. So I just spent $9x.xx on 12 pks of stupid Squinkies! I have no idea why, since I probably won't give them to my daughter, she loses too many things, the they are little! I may change my mind, since she "wants" them, but she also wants Monster High dolls, which are bigger and harder to lose. I am holding on to the receipt, if they turn out to be the hot toy, I'll probably flea bay 'em.

I'm in a very "blah" mood. I even went to Publix and hardly used any Qs Faint I did get a bunch of stuff we actually need, and a ton of ingredients for my fat-free diet, which is now going to start tomorrow.
Okay, I need to check out the TRU deals.. What else is on b2g1? LF stuff I remember, and hasbro stuff maybe? My stupid AJC early edition didn't have a TRU sale ad.

I hear ya on the grocery trip. I need groceries and so much that I need is not on sale or has coupons.. It is gonna be an expensive trip.

And thanks for the emailWink

I gave in..... I admit it.... I ACTUALLY got on the scale (not as bad as I thought it would be, but still within 8 lbs of the highest I've ever been) and walked for 25 minutes today (where's the sweating, fanning smiley?) I have more to lose than most (if not all) of you or two or three of you combined weigh.

May have to do with 3 things.
1- guy that I've always admired Girly from the other building came to see me when I emailed him a travel claim question (he travels, I normally don't). We used to go to lunch or dinner occasionally, but it always seemed that I was the one asking, and I want him to ask once in awhile
2- You ladies are all supporting each other with posts
3- the worship service I watched this morning (which happens to be the church that the guy in #1 attends) had a sermon (was given last week) about marriage, and how you need to love yourself before anyone else can love you. I hate myself right now.

I don't guarantee anything. I'm tired of being tired, kwim?
*hugs, hugs*
I know exactly what you mean.. If it makes you feel any better, I had the same thoughts when I looked at others weights.. Mine is higher than others too.. and I didn't even post mine. But that is okay, as the weight comes off, we will feel so much better. PM me of ya want and we can be motivation buddiesSmilie
I know how it feels to not like yourself too.. But, you need to remember you weight does not determine your self worth.. I have had low self esteem for many years.. But, I do love myself and I agree that you have to love yourself in order for others to love you. I don't like alot of things about myself.. but, I am a good person. And, I have learned to be happy in whatever body I am in at the time. My DH has seen me gain and lose weight so many times. I always tease that he has a different woman every couple of yearsWink

GT, that reminds me....I was once standing in the aisle at T. looking at something on the shelf and I look up and this kid is just TEARING down the aisle, no attention to where he is going and runs smack into the front of my cart. And then the best part was is that whoever it was that was responsible for him didn't even notice that it happened
Little kids are one thing.. I expect them to act out some.. but the darn older kids drive me insane. there were 2 in target tonight and they were dressed in the Halloween costumes and fighting each other right in the aisle. Practically ran over people.

The only time I usually say something, and it's usually like LTL pointed out that they are trained to talk to the child, I will make a comment if the child appears to be in danger as in climbing out, riding under the bottom of the cart with their feet banging on shelves, etc. I try to be as polite as possible but there are times I just want to wallop the parents. About a week ago, my oldest and I were leaving T and saw some Darwin winner pushing his toddler (seated in the back) and infant (in car seat on top of the cart, which are NOT designed to have car seats in the seat area, it can make them unstable), and he would give the cart a hard push, then allow it to propel across the parking lot about 30 ft or so ahead of him.
.
I was one of those mom's who tried the car seat on the buggy once. I even used the little hook things, but target buggies are not designed to work with the seats, or atleast mine.. My DD was sitting up so straight that she practically fell out the front.

My shopping cart horror story. When my DD was about 5 months old, I put her seat on the cart at walgreens and was doing some shopping. I had it hooked, or I thought.. Anyway, when I left the store, I had to roll the buggy over some of those little bumpy things at the entrance, and her entire seat fell off of the cart with her in it. I was horrified. She was screaming and I felt like a horrible mom. Thankfully her seat landed on it's side, so she was fine, other than being scared.. A lady came running from inside to check on her. It could have been so horrible if she had landed on her head or face on the cement from that height. I was so thankful and I NEVER took the seat in again unless it was attached to my stroller. One of the scariest things for me.

Took the troops to Kohls today and had a great shopping trip. I was afraid they wouldn't want to participate in the shenanigans, but they did woot Of course, it was for them to get stuff for their new place so.....

anyway, getting the k cups there is a good thing when on sale for 9.99. I had a 20% off so brought to 8.00, then a 5.00 off, so 3.00 for the box, not bad.

The kcups were on sale at target today for 7.9x and I almost grabbed a box. I was going to use my overage from the towels to get themWink but I wasn't sure about the cashier I chose.

I am so lazy today. I've laid around all morning and don't really care. It's just that time of month that you want to curl in a ball and sleep all day. Ugh.
I hate days like that.. sometimes being a woman sucks!

Went to target this afternoon. Saw my fav cashier so I loaded up the cart. When I got to checkout she was gone, so I put a *few* things back. Decided to just go for it with the towels. Got 2 towels, and TP holder, and a robe hook. Cashier k1 like a champ. He told me that he isn't really a cashier, he usually does the carts.. Made me wish I would have kept my original cart full. I was gonna go back, but figured I would press my luck. Anyway, got 2 more towels. I keep trying different kinds to see which I like better. I got the ones that are on sale for 5.49. They seem pretty nice.. My towel total is up to 6.. Need.more.towels..

We had so much fun at Target today. Picked up a few of the red target coupon books from the sample guy. Opened a few lunchboxes to check them out and some coupons happened to fall out Wink5
Found a clearance camping table and baby pool. Grabbed towels and some mr. clean items. We ended up in the GSTL line who was helping out.
I was super nervous but she had no problem with K1.

Question for the dieters.
My wife says exercise is more important than food choices. Is that correct? She's trying to lose the baby weight. We have a bet riding on this.

Depends where her "problem " lies if the food is a big factor , I would say no unless your doing huge amounts of exercise. If it's more lack of physical activity
I'd say yes.

I say the best results will will come with moderate exercise and wise food choices, in combination and neither will be too much to continue doing. MHO

We are talking about weight and not musle tone correct ?

laugh out loud on the bet thing.

I think it depends on what your body composition is to begin with and what your goals are. I still think some of this holds true:

Weight loss and pounds lost comes down to calories in vs. calories out. Being active is important for good health...formally exercising daily, etc. is a bit different than that though. If you just want to get pounds off it is very possible to do so and lose a LOT without a lot of formal exercise if your body type allows it. I know this because I did it once. Not that that works for everybody. I did not formally exercise a lot, but I was very active in my job and such - I wasn't just sitting around all day. For the person that sits at their job all day, they might require more formal activity.

Now inches - they are kind of a different story. You can lose all the weight you dream of and if you don't tone your body and add muscle you will probably still look a little flabby. Not to mention muscle burns more energy than fat so it will burn more calories thus making the weight come off faster. Some of it is going to depend on individual metabolism/weight/etc.

Since we can only -estimate- how many calories we burn during exercise I find it much easier to control the calories I put into my body....it is much more precise. Honestly, I don't think there's a correct answer is the short version of what I am saying LMAO

L2BAM: There are TONS that are B2G1F at TRU this week. Zhu Zhu, Legos, Squnkies, video games less than $19.99, and a bunch more. My AJCs don't have the ads at all (and this week, they don't have the Smart Source either), but I looked at it online at TRU's website.

I have set myself up for victory this week, instead of the failure of last week. I have spent today making my jello, breakfast bowls, and have some chicken breast packets cooking in the oven right now. I bought some fresh fruit bowls at Publix (with produce TQ, of course), so I am pretty set for food for the week. Not an gram of Fat in any of it, except the chicken breasts. I am bound and determined to at least lose 30 lbs before our cruise (Jan. 25th).

I HATE Chef Boyardee Yuk

I settled on an old standby. Stopped by the grocery store and bought a rotisserie chicken, had some for dinner with veggies, put some away for chicken salad to go with the whole wheat bread baking in the bread machine for lunches this week, and put another bag away for some chicken artichoke pizza this coming week. Alot of bang for the buck as the chickens are 5.99 at Teeter on Sundays. I am so glad I dusted off the bread machine, we are really enjoying the healthy breads and pizza crusts. I feel that we can eat healthier and not have to worry about the weight gain. I have a recipe for very low carb bread that is as soft as wonder bread. For the pizza crusts I throw in whole wheat and top with mostly proteins and veggies with smaller amounts of mozerella.

For me, it's good because I am a bread loving girl and I can't see denying myself.

I'd say you win. You can exercise several hours a day but if you consume huge amounts of calories you aren't gonna lose. Like the others, I agree that exercise aids in weigh loss tremendously and if you don't do some you are going to be flabby, but thin people can be flabby.

The husband and daughter just ordered a pizza. Then they ate it. And guess what! I didn't touch it! Not one bite. And I am soooo glad, they ate the whole thing.

Damn, I think I might hurt myself patting myself on the back. Ok, I do I have to admit that I don't feel good, my chest feels like there is a boulder perched on it, and I'm not sure I would have enough ambition to even walk over to the table and get a piece. But it doesn't matter. I DIDN'T EAT IT!!!!

Ever know you are going to have trouble at a store but it was the closest store to you that had an item you really wanted?

We wanted a particular bike for ds, drove to the closest store (that has a rep for being asshats about coupons, complete sticklers for one per transaction and even trying to enforce one per transaction for mq). Picked out the bike, new helmet, a few Home bath items, some Halloween goodies and headed to the register. Cashier paused just a second too long when the TQ beeped and Shaggy from guest services (who was conveniently hanging at the end of her register) stepped over and told her she couldn't accept the coupon because the items were under $10 (one 9.98, one 8.98, two at 5.48, no towels!). I asked politely to have it adjusted down. He said no, they couldn't do that. Silly me didn't have the coupon policy with me but I will tomorrow. He discussed this strongly with me for a few minutes before I wrote down his name, store manager name, and told him to expect to hear from corporate tomorrow. He continued to tell me they can't adjust down coupons. WTH is wrong with some people? Most they could have said was I had to put the 4 items in separate transactions. Those were the only coupons I had, everything was full price and no coupons.

And tomorrow, it's all going back. I'm going back to that store and going to return those items to the manager, along with a copy of the coupon policy and I'm calling corporate before I go over there. I'll go to a much, much friendlier store where the $160 I spent will spread so much farther.

This is the calm version, I exploded when I came home, griping at dh about the episode.

Funny thing is, the cashier whispered to me that she would have accepted the coupons if he hadn't hung around her (he stood at the next check lane, stacking and restacking the hand baskets), and she knew I was right. I didn't get her name because she had a new employee tag. Drew/ Shaggy is NOT a new employee, he has worked there at least 2 years that I know of, and had no name tag on today. And it's not like this is a store I frequent because of their coupon unfriendliness. I've probably been there 5 times in the last year.
