Hey all -

I'll never catch up...no matter if/how I try (hard).

My oldest (turned 18 in March) with special needs got into some serious, serious trouble (legal) and our lives have been turned upside down/sideways. I am stopping by to say hello and to share that I'm not around due to RL - have not bailed.

Timing stinks as I was just 'getting it' here....*sigh*

I ask for prayers and good thoughts and hope to be back to learn/help/contribute soon.

While all that is happening in our life is overwhelming and heart-breaking, I am grateful I have a sense of humor. My b-Day was Sunday and yesterday, 2 officers appeared at my door first thing - taking my son for 2 warrants. I muttered under my breath, 'Happy belated birthday mom', and one of them heard me. He felt so bad that he was visibly embarrassed and upset. I told him it was OK - that when you have special kids, you expect special surprises. He did not know what to think/say/do... Embarrassment
gr8steals, first, birthday wishes for you - i wish and pray the year ahead sees things turning around for you and brings you many magical gifts.

second, sending BIG hugs and prayers your way. and prayers and hugs for your son.

and ditto on meeshecat's offer - PM anytime and I'll do my best to get you caught up. or if you prefer, write in to get my email, in case that is faster for you than logging in to SD and looking up people to write to...

Wow, never saw that site before!! Thanks for posting the link!! I've never gotten the Kohls coupons before, but it sounds like a great deal. Great way to get the K-cups on the cheap, for sure! And I was thinking, I need to get fall shirts/tops for my two little girls, so that'd be an inexpensive way to do it. Think I will have to bite the bullet!

So ... other than local community centers, are there cheap places to get ballet lessons for little ones? I'm not talking lifelong, intense lessons, just basically so she can have fun while maybe learning the basics. She was born with a club foot, and my sister is wanting to pay for lessons for her to help strengthen that leg. I have her waitlisted at our community center, but was wondering if there are other places where it might not be too expensive. Does the YMCA offer stuff like that? And do you already have to have a membership there?

Trying to decide if I should bring my kids with me to Toys R Us, or go by myself. It would be a huge treat for them, and an opportunity for each of them to get something, but it could also be a huge hassle. hhmmm, decisions, decisions... Big Grin

Trying to come up with all my coupons - planning out trips to Harris Teeter, Rite Aid, and Safeway tomorrow. I should also stop at Target to get the Tinkerbell movie.
Some YMCA's have ballet classes. You could also call dance schools and ask about inexpensive classes. They will probably know of some little dance school that they can refer you to. (My kids were in competition dance a few years ago, and if a studio understands you just want the cheap, not necessarily learning the basics, they can probably refer you to someone. Some studios even have "scholarship" programs, or can work out lessons w/ reduced rate in exchange for help with...)

Hmm... another question I keep forgetting to ask...

Is it the lasting impressions or the sense and spray that everyone is getting at T - and whichever one is not the one at $5.04ish, do you know the price on it?? Thanks!!
Quote from getgreen09 :
glade... it's the S&S people are getting for 0.96 overage... using 3/1 mq and 3/1 tq (both inserts). tpc till the 25th i think people said but then ltl7 just mentioned the 30th so not sure, maybe it's longer.

not sure of price other glades or which one people are getting. i just paid attention to this one cos of mm talk. but of course haven't done it cos no qs. Frown
It's a "price cut", not a TPC, which means that is the new, normal price. I think the Qs expire the 25th. It is only for one scent though.

Hmm, I dunno. Too tired to think right now :/
I would call and talk to the principal and tell them you would like to do a "Random Act Of Kindness" (or RAOK for you Q people Wink ) It's less conspicuous that way. You could even include a little note in each one (printed on business card stock or something cheap) and ask each person to do another small RAOK or "pay it forward".

When I was interested in making cakes, I would make them, take them to small businesses, then ask them to "pay it forward". I had a website (gone now) called Random Cakes Of Kindness laugh out loud
I had to do something with all the cakes I was making, and wasn't comfortable with trying to sell them.

Hi all! I have been dealing with the "crud" here. I have been working but not reading up ...coughing, feeling yucky. I am NOT exercisng and could care less about my weight right now! lol

I skimmed the last few pages and hope everyone feels better that is sick and gets their work problems situated. What am I missing at TRU? Also, did I miss a coupon or 2 for Tinkerbell?

Does anyone here do a gluten free or celiac and/or cassein free type diet?
Yes, we've done both gluten free & casein free here. Not at the same time. I would have no hair left. When we did casein free, my youngest son lost the eczema that had plagued him for a couple of years. Although we are not CF any longer, we don't do milk. After all, we're not baby cows.Wink
Gluten free is much harder. Both my boys have gluten intolerance (possibly celiac disease, but who knows) by testing (not the same as traditional allergy testing - it's done by a blood draw or a stool sample (hey - I got poop in thereBig Grin)). When we were GF, DH actually admitted it was helping him. The boys didn't like the diet, so wouldn't be honest about whether it helped them or not.
As our crutch, we use digestive enzymes, specifically Peptizyde from Houston Enzymes. It breaks down casein, gluten, & soy proteins, & can be an alternative to the GFCF diet (works for us, but not some who are super-sensitive).
If you try a removal diet, here's some help: http://gfcf-diet.talkaboutcuringautism.org/index.htm

WHERE do you get that kind of deal?!?!?
I actually always use priceline. I think that they have the best advertised prices and if your times/airlines are flexible, you can also do their "name your own price" option. However for this particular flight, $84 was the posted price! I am flying down on Wed. and returning on Tuesday, so definitely off-peak times but I was shocked since my departure is less than 2 weeks away and I still got a smoking deal. I will almost not feel bad about having to pay extra for bags. Almost.

I did casein free with older DS. I immediately noticed changes in his skin and the dark circles under his eyes were gone. I also noticed changes in speech and behavior, although not sure how related. We don't do casein free anymore but he drinks rice milk and eats rice yogurt (vomit) and we try to limit the amount of milk he consumes, although it is impossible sometimes to keep cheese out of his hands. Big Grin I don't notice the same symptoms of milk sensitivity as before so I am guessing he is growing out of it.

Impatiently waiting for the mailman to arrive to see if my mr. clean coupons have arrived. If they are here, DS#2 and I will be making a short out of town shopping excursion.. Smilie

Gr8steals: Sorry about your troubles with the law. I am not an attorney (yet) but if you need simple answers, please feel free to PM me hug Also, happy belated birthday! We share the same bday bounce

I emailed her, told her I would like to meet with her regarding my status change, she called me (we work in diff locations) asked me what questions I had, told her I disagree with the change, she said--and I quote--"what is the big deal? I took your salary and divided into an 80 hour pay period and it comes out the same." ME- "I understand but I do not always work 40 hours/wk due to scheduling at our location" HER (and I QUOTE again!)--"well you've had a pretty sweet ride then, haven't you??"!!! This is the type of person I am dealing with...the convo just went down hill fast after that...
I would get a notebook and write down everything. Times, dates and what was said.

I am a personal banker for a very small bank, my direct manager is a bimbo, I am going to request a meeting with the ops manager who also happens to be one of the owners of the bank. I trust her and have a good relationship with her, hopefully she will set things straight with HR...
I think this is a very good plan. I'm sorry you're having to go through this. How is the baby?

I would just call and ask to speak to an administrator and tell them that you would like to do something for the teachers in the school and get a count from them as to how many there are.

No vomit today. Baby is napping and then we're going to super t. I hope there is decent cashier selection. I haven't had a good run in a week.

Are you going by yourself or taking the family? I can only imagine the shenanigans of shopping that can occur during a game weekend down there. Evil

SO freaking true.

Rofl2

So DS#2 is still drinking from a bottle as he is a total klutz when it comes to a cup and recently my other son has started requesting a bottle. He has been off the bottle since he was 15 months but he has been adamantly demanding one lately. Anyone else experience this?

M2C: It is just me and the boys but my mom now understands my T shopping and is always willing to keep the boys while I shop since she gets to reap the rewards of whatever I bring home. It used to be that I would just keep the visa GCs and my family would divvy up the haul. We'll see how that goes...and yes, the T in Gainesville is usually very busy anyways...I am excited to see how it is during game weekend. Evillaugh
