I'm worried about this little problem, too. Baby is due shortly after DS's 3rd bday and if the BF'ing doesn't go well, there's gonna be a battle royale for the ba-ba.

For those who have Hyvee..certain Quaker items are $1 this week and there are:

Quaker Chewy Granola Bars $1.00/2 (11/13/10) V 9/19/2010
Quaker Instant Oatmeal or Quaker Quick or Old Fashioned Oats, 18oz+ $1 (10/31/10) V 8/29/2010
Quaker Instant Oatmeal, Quick or Old Fashioned Oats box $1 (12/31/10) V 9/12/2010

So free oatmeal and cheap chewy bars nod
Saw that....bleh, really don't want to have to order q's since it takes a bit to get here - wish we knew of sales sooner. I could have swore there was a non-expired quaker $3 off 5 pdf floating around Scratchchin Can't find anything now.

ETA: ?? for those of you that use the $5 Kohls q's from e-junkie, etc. Got some today and noticed the 'one per household' wording at the bottom...do any of you have trouble with that and how do you go about not having trouble with it? LMAO Or is it kind of like with Target where they don't really care?

I skimmed the last few pages and hope everyone feels better that is sick and gets their work problems situated. What am I missing at TRU? Also, did I miss a coupon or 2 for Tinkerbell?
joining you in land of the sick and feeling yucky. BUT, i have tomorrow circled in my calendar for lots of pornography EEK! ... i mean coupon shopping LMAO

tinkerbell... there's a 10mq (printable) and a 5tq... the latter was sent in fliers, but then someone did "the forbidden" and then posted that in an HD thread. linked back to deals. which got deals post removed and hd thread gone. but once things are on the net... laugh out loud

I would get a notebook and write down everything. Times, dates and what was said.

yayy on the puke free day!
and the notebook idea, cherry, is not only a great one but a very important one. if you end up having to see a lawyer/union rep or any such thing, right at the outset you will be asked for a timeline of events, with details - who did you talk to, what was said, how did that conversation occur (phone, email, in person), who else was in the room, who did notify of the conversation afterwards etc.
this is central to your side of the situation.

when we were little, we regressed also and fussed. somehow, going to the bottle seemed cool and comforting after we saw a baby drink from it. so mum and dad hatched a plan... one morning (i still remember this clear as day even though i was very little), they sat in the family room, with a big bin in front of the trash can. and they told us that we were no longer little babies, that we had grown up and so grownups don't drink from bottles cos they get to do something very special, they get to have their very own cups that they get to pick out on their own. and as proof they showed us each of their mugs, that had tea in them. Facepalm we were wide-eyed.
then they said, and if grownups keep drinking from baby bottles it makes their teeth all wonky and their smiles ugly (the dentist had told them that). did we want that? noooooo we said sadly.
but they said in order to have the grownup mugs we had to first throw our bottles ourselves and say "i'm a big girl now, i don't drink from baby bottles" (we only got to toss one bottle each LMAO sneaky those parents)

sure enough, after a few moments of hesitation, the bottles went into the can and smashed. we liked the sound of it. it was empowering.
then that very day they took us to a store and got us to pick out our own mugs as promised. i still remember one of the mugs had shades of pink stripes, from light to dark, with the love is pair on it... it said love is... on top, and i can't remember what it was that the two did. LMAO

I am a personal banker for a very small bank, my direct manager is a bimbo, I am going to request a meeting with the ops manager who also happens to be one of the owners of the bank. I trust her and have a good relationship with her, hopefully she will set things straight with HR...

Cherry, Sorry for everything you are going through at work. Employers never seem to learn that their Employees are their most valued asset and should be treated as such.

Still before going full steam into the meeting you might double check that your company does qualify to be governed by FMLA. You mentioned you work for a small company and few people realize that FMLA only applies to companies that employ 50+ people within a 75 mile radius.

I haven't had a position in over 20 years where the company had more than 10 employees much less 50. When I was pregnant I was at a company with 3 employees including myself. The doctor had diagnosed me with pre-eclampsia over a month before my due date. There was just no way I could be off that long so I had to work (argue) with the doc to come to some compromise that would allow me to work until approx 2 weeks before the due date. Then I went back to work 1/2 days just 3 days after my C-Section. All so I could make sure they didn't hire someone to replace me and so the only time I took off was covered by the vacation time I had built up.

Don't get me wrong. I am no super hero nor do I think what I did was the right thing to do, I just did what I had to. And I by no means do I think that your situation is right. The company should not treat you the way they are. Just make sure that the law is on your side first.

Oh, and if by chance you don't have more than 50 employees you still may be covered by similar state laws. These laws vary by state to state but can apply to company sizes as small as 10 employees.

Does anyone here do a gluten free or celiac and/or cassein free type diet? I still have itching on my face/head, and often on my arms and trunk. I've also been noticing that when I have breads that my mouth has been getting a raw feeling and like it's been kind of cut up and sore inside. I don't know what's going on with me, but thinking that maybe if I cut out gluten and such that maybe I'll feel better. Dunno... I can't do soy, and I seem to be developing a reaction to almond milk now too. It's a bit annoying and bizarre - I've never had these problems before!
This is one of my first posts in here, but I had some similar issues after my second baby was born. Just in general feeling really crappy. I went to the doctor and he put me on a yeast free diet. It's a really strict diet as it cuts out sugars, glutens, pretty much most things OMG However, I stuck with it for a couple months (you are supposed to do it longer, but I didn't) and it helped me tremendously! I don't know if it would solve any of your issues, but it's not a diet that's going to hurt either way. Plus, it helped me shed some baby poundsBig Grin

No problem Wink There's nothing worse than having a newborn, other kids to deal with, and feeling miserable on top of it! I sometimes wondered if it had anything to do with hormonal changes after just having a baby, too Confused

I've been dying my hair a color called "Soft black" (at least thats what I think its called) my natural hair color is med/dark brown. I want my natural color back or something close to it. I havent dyed my hair in about 6 weeks and you can really tell. The gray is taking over my head, i started to get gray hair at like 23 so I always have to dye it. I dont want to pay someone else to color my hair but I dont want to mess it up by doing it myself. Last time i tried to change it back to brown it just dyed my roots back to brown and the rest of my hair was black! So how do i get this black out of my hair and get back to brown?

i'm not a stylist - yet this is what i've heard you gotta do for best results:

bleach/lighten hair first
then color w/natural shade

are there cheap places to get ballet lessons for little ones?
My daughter took gymnastics lessons -- beginner and not intense, like you are talking about -- from a local college. They had a nice athletic center. Might try contacting some of those in your area. Also, see if your local radio station has a call in buy, sell, and trade show. Call in and ask.

Just butting in to see if you have read or been informed -- since it's pretty common that that we are NOT informed unless we dig on our own... there are several things that don't play well with the thyroid replacements. One of them is calcium supplements.

You've gotten plenty of ideas -- including the obvious school supplies. I just have a display idea. In order to use some of your other freebie stuff that wouldn't display well and be cute put it all in another box. Get sturdy cardboard boxes and cut them down so they aren't very tall -- 4 - 6". Cover then with wrapping paper. Then, stand your laptop bags in the back and fill with goodies like candles, Glade stuff, etc. Tuck Post-Its and pens and other school supplies peeking out of the pockets of the bag. In the box you can even group little theme areas. KWIM? Shampoo and Body Wash in this corner, Carpet Sprinkle and Spray over there.... Do you drugstore? Ooooo a cold and flu section would be good. Tuck in some tissue papers and there ya go. Those basket shrink wrap bag things are really nice.

I don't think it would be weird. You could do some of it up cute and take it to nursing homes. Ask the nurses and aids, they can tell you who doesn't get much.

I have got to do something constructive today. I suppose I should go out and shut down the pool for winter. I just hate to do that. It's cold and I am not keeping it chlorinated -- the season IS over. It's not nasty or anything so it still looks good. It's just so dang ugly with the winter cover on it.

I have the low carb rolls in the oven ( 1/2 carb or less each). Eggs are boiled and sitting out there finishing up. Brunch today is 2 sausage patties (0 carbs) and a piece of cheese (1 carb).

Boy, talk about taunting yourself. Most recipes I have in my book, a few are on my computer -- the diet rolls are one of them. So, I open that file to get the recipe. Ya know what the other 2 recipes are? Peanut Butter Cake (OMG it's drool) and a Key Lime Cake recipe that I want to try.

I've never colored my hair so I have absolutely NO experience. I'm just sure I read on here somewhere that there is a dye remover for hair. You use it and it removes any dye in your hair and then you can do as you please. Where ever I read that, someone commented that they had used it and it really worked great.

I would guess I read it in the Walgreen forum. It's the only drugstore I ever (rarely) have access to.
