Flugette, I had a similar incident at TRU yesterday. I used the $5/$25 coupon then handed her my $3 birthday coupon. She kept telling me she couldn't even try because the total had to be over $25 (after the 5/25) as it was. She couldn't grasp the concept that it only has to be $25 for the coupon to be accepted, after yes it can be under $25. She was very surprised when the $3 was accepted.

Hit the Dollar Stores. There is absolutely nothing wrong with thrift store buys either as long as it's like new.
Magazine subscriptions? I know some of those can be found really cheap or free.
How about gift cards for things to do with them. It won't cost you anything up front and can spread the expense out.
Maybe, you get to stay home from school (not a sick day) just you and Mom and make cookies (tape it to a bag of chocolate chips and wrap.
Or a cook out at the park on the Sat. of your choice wrapped with a kite or bubbles or one of those little hot dog trays.
Somebody asked about Younkers. It's the same store as Elder Beerman, Herberger's, Carson Pirie Scott, and Bon Ton. Right now they are having theirGoodwill Sale [younkers.com]. Donate an item to Goodwill and they will give you a coupon good for 20% off any item at the store. It's valid online also. It's going on at all their stores, not just Younkers.
My fault I had to call out towelabuse lady on her schooling and telling people to learn how to use coupons. I was told she told me suck it but MODS deleted all.

I know the misuse is so frowned upon in both these threads. Didn't know this was ok'ed here. I have heard more against than for. Of course I am against. Not only is it embarassing for me to be told no it is more embarassing for me to be called out on it at the store. Again there are many different views but this one states Furniture. Towels to me are still not a furniture item.

Planned on hitting 2 stores but the first took so long that I only had time for 1 run. It was definitely worth the trip! Used some of my Uncle Ben's BOGOs and $1 MQs. Made for very cheap rice.
Found 5 hr energy drinks on clearance! & 2 free Snuggies made their way into my cart. Oh yeah, towels too. I wish I would've discovered the spa towels before i bought all of the regular HOME brand.
I agree about the spa towels.. they are so soft and I like the way they dry. I just wish there were more color choices.. and patterns. DO they make the big bath blanket things.. like a big towel?
Which snuggies did you find. I think I saw some a few months ago on clearance, but haven't seen any lately.
Did not make it to Target today. Had to spend half the day in the Eye Doctor's office. Scratch in eye about a week ago and looks to be infected. Very hard to read with one good working eye! Got 3 different kinds of drops to put in eye every 4 hours.
As for couponing, it does get easier as they see you more, or at least for me it has. Even with all the crap they've gave me, I'm still there shopping with coupons, and I'm not going to stop just because sometimes things go horribly wrong.
I actually went to a store tonight that's notorious for one tq, and had no issues using multiple tqs, in fact I haven't had any issues at this store for almost a month now so I guess they finally gave up!

Seems when I go, there is always only 2 choices and I do the same thing.. pick the lesser of the evils, or like last night, I just went in and checked a few clearance things.. looked at cashier selection, and left..
Now, looking back, if I stop to think, vegetables come in cans and I wouldn't have used it on that. It does make sense that I shouldn't have used it on frozen, I suppose. It just didn't cross my mind that there was anything wrong with it.
But, holy shit, I got lambasted. So, yeah, I find this whole towels thing quite amusing.

As far as Target BF goes, they do a 2 day sale - not A doorbuster thing so...Also the Price adjustement policy is within 14 days so Buy no earlier than 11/12 then just save the reciept -- I would make a sharpie dot next to each item, then on one of the two days of the two day sale just go to GS and tell them you have marked the items you need a PA on.,
Everyone will run around like Chicken Little claiming Target has done away with there PA policy this year but it is BS, those chicken littles do it every year and every year T does the PA :p
The good news is if this keeps up for a while, just think of how much weight you'll lose
