Attention Dieters - I think we need one of these [youtube.com].
you know, "Attention Dieters.....someone pooped behind my van" is an effective dieting tool.....
my friend's sister did that and brought it from VA w/ her to clean her sister's carpets. but their family has bad allergies so now no more carpets. they have lots of cork now.
Thanks for trying to help
I think the iPad could totally change my life the way it streamlines things. Y'all should see me when I try to clean my house....it is a comedy because I can't just do one room. I do one thing in one room, do something else in another room, come back, go to another. I just have to laugh about it - it was just a process I was never able to get down quite right again. So if I had someone cleaning my house and I was the proud new owner of an iPad I think that would be heaven

I had a Bissell first and it eventually quit squirting water. I found out it was a common problem. So, I replaced it with a Hoover.
The bristles quit spinning on it. Discovered it's a stupid design issue. Not belt driven its air or suction of something, anyway, again, a common problem. We followed some directions online and got it going again for the time being.
If I were buying another new one, I would go with the Bissell. Overall, I like it better. I like the beater bar better and I like the one tank system better. The heater is a non issue -- my water heater is set hotter than those heat to. (Actually, I did just buy another of these -- at a used place for $10!!)
Now, if you find a Hoover on clearance dirt cheap -- buy it. It does a good job. But if they are tit for tat on price, I'd go with the Bissell.
And, some unsolicited advice -- if you have new carpet and need to clean it do NOT use any kind of carpet cleaning solution or soap. Have you ever noticed that once you clean carpet it seems to get dirtier faster? That's because it does. It doesn't matter how long or how well you rinse, you will never get all the soap/cleaner out. It leaves a residue. Dirt adheres to the residue making it dirtier faster.
Really dirty carpet and it just won't come clean with out it... you just know it? Try it, you will be surprised a what just hot water and your steam cleaner will do. Let's see... grape juice, pancake syrup, cooking oil, and plain old ground in dirt have come up just fine. Oh yeah, and lets not forget puke and poop. Been there, done that.
thanks for the advice

I try to clean just one room but I cant. I will be trying to clean the living room and I will go put a dirty cup in the kitchen, then have to load the dish washer..then i will see that the floor is dirty and needs to be swept... its never ending!
coffee and
coffee and
....Awww I hope you feel better...sending many healthy vibes to you!!
whatever this bug is, i hope it's not going around, but if you guys start to feel sickly ickly start boosting your vitamin c and zinc intakes as soon as you feel the slightest bit down. cos you do not want this.
gift card - whoever it is that can't find gc (cant't remember who, but i did read it), you don't have to submit entire rcpt. whenever you buy a gc, at the bottom of your rcpt a small separate rcpt will print out with gc number and activation info and payment method (cash, visa, etc), date, time etc. they will be able to look it up with that.
blacking out a rcpt will do nothing. all target transactions have electronic records. so by scanning the rcpt, or entering transaction number they can look up the whole transaction. matter of fact, even over the phone, if you give them date, time, store and transaction amount, they can pull up a transaction, just like catalina marketing can do the same.
You've gotten a lot of answers and they are pretty much what I would tell you. I'm older than most of you ladies so the old lady feet are trying to attack! I bathe, not shower so it's probably a little easier for me -- but pumice those suckers every time you bathe or shower. I think it actually works a little better after I have been in the tub and they have soaked a little. And spend a couple minutes on each foot - literally.
I agree that Vaseline (jelly not lotion) is as good as anything else. I bought some that Lamisilk especially for dry feet cream in the tub and it pretty much feels like petroleum jelly. I think it's mostly lanolin. (Don't freak, I didn't pay for it -- KMart Clearanc - Coupon) Use whatever 40 bottles of lotion you have around -- use it generously.
Lube your feet up good and slimy and put on some socks. Do it a few times a day if you think of it. With winter coming -- otherwise known as socks and shoes weather -- that will help. Just make it a habit when you get dressed. If you pumice and moisturize for a week or two every single day, I guarantee you will see a big difference.
also, have any of you heard of clarisonic? it's a skin brush based on the sonicare idea. works fabulously. you just use it on two minute cycle to clean the face. there are body brushes that you can use for problem areas on the body. works beautifully in the shower. battery doesn't need to be charged often. it's a life changing thing.
i got it as a birthday present for myself a few years ago. loved it so much, got it for loved ones. they still say it's the best present they have ever recd. they are expensive to buy directly from the site, but beauty store sellers on ebay sell them for half the price or less. it is a very worthy investment.
i have super sensitive facial skin. i use the delicate brush with some soap, and not only is there no irritation, it leaves my face baby soft, dramatically reduces blackheads/whiteheads/breakouts and really leaves your skin glowing. you can use the exfoliating body brush on knees, elbows, butt, etc and of course FEET. makes a huge, huge difference with your feet.
i recommended clarisonic to a few coworkers. saw them a few weeks later and everyone was saying they looked stunning. then found out they had been using the brush for about a week. the difference is palpable.
you can also get replacement brush heads for cheap on ebay. i rarely give a product 5 thumbs up, but this is one product i would recommend to anyone and everyone that will listen. it is life-changing. and best of all, super easy to use and maintain.
ok, going back to lie down. put clarisonic on your christmas/birthday lists (about 100 bucks on ebay). or save up for it. it will save you tons of money on skin products/facials/pedicures.
That I did not check..Will do that in a few..I hope I find it else I will have to fax them my receipt
