i tried this recipe 2 yrs ago on a free supermarket turkey. it was awesome! even more so b/c it was my first time cooking a turkey and i definitely overcooked it. the thermometer just kept going up and up at one point! the whole house smelled of turkey when it was cooking. it looked really impressive. that was probably the butter! i took it over to a friend's house who was hosting a baby shower and people were raving. one girl claimed all the leftovers for her kids. i was lucky to even get the carcass to make soup. which came out amazing. really flavorful.

Did it ring up for you as 0.00? for the mfq this happened to me 3xs, once the idiot cashier caused it, and the other two times were at targets with the new registers?

I used to be on cakecentral! But, as with most things, I go from one obsession to another.

Oh, wow! Good luck! When I worked in retail, the company was bought out and all the merchandise was sent to outlets and an entire store full was shipped in. My District Manager walked out and quit in the middle of all of it, taking all of the paperwork with her. We had 2 semi loads full of clothes, and not a clue of how to set it.
Im not in retail but I am feeling very expandable lately, lots of changes making it feel very gloomy on the job front.Frown

hug How stressful for you, hope he/ she wasn't the one training you. Although this may work in your favor, on boss wishing they had there old employee back,
and comparing your new job performance to their experiance.

Hope your day gets better
yes she was training me, and she knows way more then anyone else in my new position, they are relatively new in there positions too. I survived today, I guess that Im doing ok under the circumstances, although I barely had a chance to breath today, but I still managed to get all my work done. And I ate less, because I ddint have time too eat laugh out loud

I never cook the stuffing in the bird. I guess because of Alton Brown. Watch his Thanksgiving episode about cooking turkey. I think the recipe is called "Good Eats Roast Turkey" I cooked it that way once, and I will never cook Turkey another way again. It's moist, delicious, no basting, and only takes about 2 1/2 hours to cook.
Roasting it in the oven? I wish I could throw it on the Grillyummy without ruining it LMAO

I can help ya with that. Use a Reynold's Oven Bag [reynoldsovenbags.com] bag, it will be perfect every time. Nice and moist. And when it's done you will have a whole bag full of drippings for gravy. Easiest way is to hold the whole bag, turkey and all, up over a big pan and poke a hole in the bottom of the bag and let the juice squirt out.

I'm not wild about it either and really don't like turkey. Actually, I don't like any poultry.
Thats a great idea too!

And my family is the same way they love there red meat thats for sure, I like Chicken everyone else not so much.

sorry was catching up, now Im done. Proceed Wink

Went to a new park that opened up about 10 minutes from the house. It is so nice. Great playground for my DD, a walking track that I would guess is 1/3 or 1/4 mile per lap. But, the coolest thing is it has these little exercise kiosk kinda things every 50 feet or so. They have fitness instructions on different exercises.. One is a small stationary bike, another is a stair stepper, several arm weight things.. it is pretty cool! I only made it one lap cause the toddler was begging for more playground time.. Hoping to head back tomorrow!

I happened upon a deal when I was reading another site tonight.. Never have even been in Food Lion, but I went tonight and grabbed several packs of water for .02 each.. It was so much fun. I can't believe I didn't know about this deal before tonight since it was the end of the sale.. Saw dazzled was posting in the FL thread.. Guess some TCC folks knew about the deal. I ended up with 21 of the 8 packs, so I was pleased.
Tried a new Publix.. cashier was a pain, and I left the cart there..

Still no target, but I may get there tomorrow. gotta get some produce..

Edit - Shameless beg.. Anyone have Deer Park Aquapod water coupons from the RP 8/29 that they would be willing to part with? I would be happy to trade something in return!

I've worked at two Child Care centers, Target, Casual Corner ( retail clothing store ) and at a couple diff. restaurants. Ive worked off and on since I was 17 ( I'm 30 ) but for the most part Ive been a stay at home mom which I cant do anymore. I'm seperated from my boys father.
do you know msword, excel and powerpoint? if not, i would start learning asap. see if there are any free or inexpensive classes unemployment office offers or can give you leads to. sometimes the public library offers classes. practice in real life. make spreadsheets of your bills, expenses, etc.

i would go for office jobs as admin, admin asst, receptionist, etc. you want to go for the best paying job you can get. it's also not as tiring as retail and food service although maybe not as rewarding as child care.

make sure you have the appropriate wardrobe and dress appropriately when applying, not just the interview. make sure you carry a copy of your resume w/ you. make sure you write a thank you note and mail it immediately after your interview. call back in a couple days to check on your status and to show you are interested. make sure to practice interviewing. do not say things like *i was accused of stealing.* yes, when i was an asst mgr somebody tapped me on the arm w/ a long fingernail and handed me their application and when i looked over their resume and i questioned them, they said this to me. make sure you give your application and/or resume to somebody who does the interviews even if you have to come back. they will vet you on the spot and decide if they are interested in you. if somebody else gives them your application, it usually won't go very far. you don't want to apply for a job anywhere where they have computers and you apply online right then and there. you are aiming for better. make sure to have good references. yes, we check. one time i called somebody's former employer and he said his employee would disappear and he wouldn't know where he was.

are you along the shore or further inland? you should probably target inland, i think by the shore is very seasonal but i'm not familiar w/ that particular area.

ultimately you may want to consider going back to school. or at least taking some classes. do you have any career in mind? you might want to focus on that field.

you should volunteer in the field you are interested in, larger organizations being best. it brings you in contact w/ people who like to help other people and you may get hired or they will refer you. bottom line is it gets you out and about and people can see what your abilities are. you can also get *free training*. they will teach you computer skills, etc.

if you have any questions, just ask away.

post here. they are probably like Confused. lumpia = filipino spring rolls. of all the asian ones, i think they are the best! i've had chinese egg rolls (the worst but occasionally i will want one), spring rolls (ok), vietnamese (no big deal) and malaysian (ok). there is nothing like homemade. and you can probably freeze them uncooked and then just fry them up when you feel like having them. that's what i do w/ dh's grandparent's shanghainese spring rolls. so much better than restaurant or store bought.

let your intuition be your guide. be proactive and start looking. better that you be in control of the situation than wait around for the axe to fall.
