is there a vaginal contraceptive implant? (no std OT)

On a whim I had sex with this girl I just met. She informed me that she got the contraceptive implant which lasts for 5 years. I thought the practice was to insert the implant into the girl's upper arm, but she said she had it put in her vagina. I bought her story cause she threw a bunch of technical terms at me, talked about how she didn't want kids, and all that jazz. I just looked online and didn't see anything. The irrational fear that she wants to have my kid is starting to freak me out. I probably shouldn't have had sex with her again the next morning either.. but once you make the initial plunge afterward it's like all bets are off.

If you're not adult enough to discuss BC with your partner, or adult enough to be aware of what kind of birth control and contraception is out there (or smart enough to wear a condom to protect yourself from STDs) you really shouldn't be having sex.

It sounds like you don't know how the nuva ring works, either. It doesn't prevent pregnancy physically - it releases hormones into the body, the same way that birth control pills do. It just does so vaginally instead of orally.

Well, we weren't "strangers" I met her 10 hours previous. I don't get why it's bad that she was on a desk. The sex can't be good? It would have been uncomfortable on the floor. When the ring is absent from a females vagina there's a certain time frame where it needs to get back in to continue to be effective. If it leaves during intercourse and then you fall asleep there's a good chance she's now no longer receiving those hormones effectively and may become pregnant. It varies depending on what stage of the monthly cycle she's in and how long until another ring needs to be inserted.
