is there a vaginal contraceptive implant? (no std OT)

On a whim I had sex with this girl I just met. She informed me that she got the contraceptive implant which lasts for 5 years. I thought the practice was to insert the implant into the girl's upper arm, but she said she had it put in her vagina. I bought her story cause she threw a bunch of technical terms at me, talked about how she didn't want kids, and all that jazz. I just looked online and didn't see anything. The irrational fear that she wants to have my kid is starting to freak me out. I probably shouldn't have had sex with her again the next morning either.. but once you make the initial plunge afterward it's like all bets are off.

(Please refrain from std jokes. Apparently she just got out of a relationship and seemed freaked out at the idea that I may have given her something.. which is a good sign cause I know I was clean. I'm getting tested in two weeks. If I got something I'll update the thread and you can all make fun of me then.)

I never actually used those letters while searching as I was just putting "vaginal contraceptive implant." Whatever the implant in the arm is called is the one I kept running into. Sorry if I referred to it as IUD. Go all high and mighty about me referencing it wrong. I don't have much experience with this form of birth control because as mentioned my girlfriends have never used it. They've used the depo shot, pills, sponge, nuva ring, spermicide, etc. The subject of birth control isn't just IUD and "arm implant that isn't IUD." Thanks though.

First of all. Why would I have previously researched a form of birth control that has never had any relevance in my life? This is the first time I've heard of it and came here hoping for some information. People were informative and I appreciate that. You however, have been a judgmental stuck up bitch. I've already stated that I shouldn't have had sex with her in that situation. The "correct" course of action is to start dating first, get tested, decide on a form of birth control, and then have sex. I'm sure you never make mistakes. Kinda like earlier when I made you look foolish for calling me out on nuva ring information when my statement was accurate.

I'm smarter than you. My kids will be smarter than you. I just hope to god that if you have a husband or boyfriend you don't nag them as much as you do the people on these forums. It's not funny and it's not helpful. So what's the point? Does it make you feel better about yourself to try and put other people down? Where's your threads about mistakes you make? They don't exist because you want to pretend you're perfect. You're the idiot.

If you're going to leave the possibility of whether or not you conceive a child in your escapades with random strangers, you should probably have an idea of what kind of birth control is out there!

Being responsible for the creation of another life is about as "relevant" to you as you could get. Wink
