is there a vaginal contraceptive implant? (no std OT)

On a whim I had sex with this girl I just met. She informed me that she got the contraceptive implant which lasts for 5 years. I thought the practice was to insert the implant into the girl's upper arm, but she said she had it put in her vagina. I bought her story cause she threw a bunch of technical terms at me, talked about how she didn't want kids, and all that jazz. I just looked online and didn't see anything. The irrational fear that she wants to have my kid is starting to freak me out. I probably shouldn't have had sex with her again the next morning either.. but once you make the initial plunge afterward it's like all bets are off.

(Please refrain from std jokes. Apparently she just got out of a relationship and seemed freaked out at the idea that I may have given her something.. which is a good sign cause I know I was clean. I'm getting tested in two weeks. If I got something I'll update the thread and you can all make fun of me then.)

Now, I may be over-paranoid here... And the IUD does have a very good percentage at lowering your chances of getting pregnant. But I believe I was always told to use two types of contraceptives - just in case.

I mean, if you seriously do not want kids, then take an extra step to lower those chances even more. Because even if it's 99.9% effective, that is still not 100%, and there is still a chance. Just saying! So ignoring the fact that condoms would keep you safer from STDs, using that + her IUD will keep you even safer from having kiddos.


Other than that... umm, I must agree it was pretty dumb. But personally I think the Library would be an awesome location! Stick Out Tongue
