Hypothetically, would you go from a stable full-time position in an OK company doing average/mediocre work to a contract position (with high possibility of renewal) in a prestigious company (let's call it Microsoft of engineering, but no one hates it (unlike Micro$oft)) doing supposedly exciting work in a better location? No. Down I was watching that documentary about the asteroid that Saint Bruce Willis saved us all from back in the 90s.

BTW I'd go for the interesting work myself. Then again I did just separate from my wife & sell my house. Oh and I've only been at my current job for 2 months. laugh out loud Anybody know where I can get a good price on a shiny red penis convertible?

Yes, because, if said company is as good as you're making it out to be, you'd know well before your contract was up if they had no intention of renewing it so you could have enough time to plan and look elsewhere.

Thanks laugh out loud I'm just hypothesizing for now... we'll see if the hypothesizing will turn into anything. I'm leaning towards the same direction, but... the biggest concern is it's a contract job...

That's a good point. That area has a lot of jobs in my field, so I *should* be able to find another one if anything goes wrong.
