Honestly, never. I have never used that phrase. I don't dare try it because my know-it-all-16-year-old-son would take the opportunity to run amok for the weekend. No way. I'm not putting myself through that worry. Instead, I would rather ground him and suffer

So........not to bring one thread into another but does applying for a credit card hurt your credit score? Why wasn't I given my credit score when I just got my car loan from the credit union?

There's a lot of variables with regard to credit scores. The answer to your first question is, "It depends".

In general there are lots of worse things that can hurt your score a lot more than applying for a new line of credit. But if you apply for several lines of credit at once or in a short period of time, yes, that can hurt your score.

As far as why your score wasn't disclosed during your recent car loan, it isn't always something that comes up. Like, "Hey jenni your loan is approved and your credit score is over 9000!!!!". You can ask the credit union. They may give you the score or they may not. Technically the bank/credit union pays for those scores so they're probably under no obligation to disclose it but maybe Max knows for certain?

I doubt it. laugh out loud He's having to soak the thumb in clorhexadine 3x/day and take nasty antibiotics 2x/day. It might work to deter him. I have some of that thumb sucking nail polish. I may hit him with that when he's asleep. Evil

I too old and wrinkly and thrifty - mostly this one - to have the desire buy lots of kidlets during their early growing phases.
