listened to a podcast with michael eisner (ex abc ceo) today. interesting movie trivia. during the olympics, he got offered the job at paramount on a pay phone. one of the perks was a company car, he asked the guy who offered it to him what he had and took that (a mercedes). first day on the job, he was driving his benz to work and easily going 40 over speed limit. got angrily thrown into the backseat of the squad car and he was amazed how advanced it was. it had computers, walkie talkies and all sorts of stuff. ended up interviewing the cop, turns out the beverly hills cops couldn't afford to live in beverly hills. so he had it in his mind to make beverly hills cop movie. took about 5 years to get a script, they gave it to stallone. he re-wrote it to become first blood (rambo!). eisner said we usually would make it, but we put 5 years into making beverly hills cop. his partner had eddie murphy in his office and they asked if he'd do it. eddie murphy asked if he could carry a gun. when they said yes.. history was made..

I LOVED Beverly Hills Cop. When I was a kid, I watched it a billion times.

me too. so interesting to hear where it originated, who was originally pegged for the leading role. so wouldn't be the same if stallone got the part

The tacos were good but tiny. Random fact true Mexican tacos are made out of two corn tortillas to fill you up!

I have an excellent hole in the wall place right by me. Two tortillas, menudo on the weekends, lots of people who don't speak English eat there... so I figure it must be pretty authentic.

The original Eastman and Laird turtles never had the pizza obsession the bastardization that the world knew as "turtles" did.
