Did you watch?

For a show on a non premium cable channel, I thought it was very good. I never read the comic, so I don't know how it compares, but I'll be watching every Sunday. pisses me off that I don't get AMC in HD though.

Unfortunately, i dont'really care about the how in the first place. I just want to keep seeing more drama/bloody gore and such.

Worms, in the ground...transport the virus. And it transported to humans through rain puddles because that is where the worms always die.

Opinions from y'all:

Trying to settle a work dispute. I think the use of the word, "characters," in "27 characters will die in this season's finale," implies that living people will die, like the civilians of Woodbury. Coworkers are insisting that the number includes zombies.

If it does, I think the number of civilian deaths is too low, as is the number of zombie deaths.

How long was Rick in the hospital? Wasn't it a couple of months? I forgot how pissed off I was about that scene when he gets out of the bed and falls down but it up and walking a couple of minutes later. Some writers need to go feel the pain of physical therapy!!! Ranting Crying2

I think with the way that THEY view the word (it was used on Talking Dead...right?) I think it is Zombies AND people. When they do the "ode to death" / "kills of the week" (in memoriam?) on the show, they point out the zombies and the people. I am expecting there to be 27 names that pop up on the screen during that part on Sunday.

I wouldn't personally consider zombies characters, unless they have special significance.

Would Merle and Zombie Merle be 2 characters? I hadn't thought about it, but by my definition / understanding, they would be. He made the kill chart twice.

Well, yes, but my brother brought up an interesting point - I think some facet of the zombie virus enhances your metabolism, and exponentially so once you've been scratched or bitten. This would explain not only why people turn so quickly after death, but also how they heal so quickly on the show. Randall's knee, Hershel's leg, Rick's shoulder stab (immediate? come on, lol).. it all kind of makes sense. Would give way to the notion that the virus was developed as a military-level metabolizing agent, possibly for biological warfare, that went horribly awry.

I agree with this notion. Unless it is someone like Merle, who died twice last episode, I don't think the zombies merit inclusion here.
