Did you watch?
For a show on a non premium cable channel, I thought it was very good. I never read the comic, so I don't know how it compares, but I'll be watching every Sunday. pisses me off that I don't get AMC in HD though.

It'll be cool to see a shootout with Rick's group vs. the hospital Po-Po's

And did anyone else think that Dawn chick was the Governor incarnate? The whole hospital setting, Bat-shit crazy Dawn, everyone having to "do their part", the false sense of Utopia .... to me, it all wreaked of the Governor and Woodbury.

Kind of bugged me too that they didn't try to take one of the cars, probably had the keys in them.

since Beth got nabbed, i'm hoping we'll be exposed to revelations that make the hospital more interesting, but Dawn is just so cookie-cutter that i don't hold out a lot of hope on that front. the doc is the only part of the hospital that interests me, and after Carol wakes up and levels two floors with her heat vision, i could see him leaving with Beth and trying to join Rick and the gang.
my biggest annoyance in this episode was Beth's silence. while Dawn and the doc pontificated at length about how the only thing waiting beyond the fences of the hospital was certain death, Beth knew there were multiple groups and locations with survivors who (at one point) were thriving, including her family at their farm house, Rick and the rest at the prison, the Governor's group at Woodbury, and Gareth's buffet line at Terminus. wouldn't it be much easier for Beth to make her point if she told them about these groups? wouldn't it go a long way toward convincing Dawn to change her mindset or getting the doc to leave or stand up to Dawn? it drove me crazy to have these easily-refuted ideas just thrown out with no counterpoint from Beth.
i wish i knew how long Daryl and Carol have been gone; if it's relatively short, i'm going to guess Noah is the only one waiting in the glade and Daryl wants reinforcements to break out Carol and Beth. if it's longer, i'm expecting Noah, Carol, Beth, and the doc. Morgan seems to be a popular guess, but does Daryl know who Morgan is? he obviously wasn't with Rick the first time he met Morgan, and only Michonne and Carl were with Rick when they found Morgan's funhouse of booby traps. considering the freshness of the Terminus situation, if Daryl encountered Morgan on the road, would they get to the "chatting about our past to find out we know the same guy" point of the interaction?
Beyond disappointed in the writers this season.
And the sooner they kill off Beth, the better. I always suspected she was a really bad actor but her parts in the show were always in bits and pieces and so it was hard to tell if it was her or the parts written for her. Last night proved she is a terrible actor. I have Halloween props that are better actors than her.
yes, her acting is tough, but have you rewatched some of the earlier episodes? Rick was a hot mess for large stretches of seasons one and two, Carl was flat in a lot of scenes, and the Governor is probably my acting low bar for the series. that said, i'm fairly forgiving because i care more about the stories/themes being portrayed than the pure believability of the actors themselves.
Seriously, why does every other show feel a need to touch on every storyline with every episode? It makes it more like a sitcom or something, having to visit every possible storyline within a 44-minute episode. Having one or two threads unraveled while leaving the rest for later makes the show so much less watered-down and gives them more room to explore each situation. To each their own, though, I love it.
i really liked the usage of multiple plot lines in the same episode in season four (almost demanded since everyone was broken up), but i also thought the relatively stationary nature of both the story and episodes in season two were appropriate and engaging as well.
i actually see this as more evidence of it being Beth/Carol/others as opposed to Morgan: if Morgan were with him, i would expect both of them to be approaching in tandem since both are capable fighters and Daryl has no maternal/protective relationship with Morgan (unless the latter is injured).

On a side note: I was on AMC's website a few minutes ago and they had a note that DirectTV customers could lose AMC over a rate dispute.
