Did you watch?

For a show on a non premium cable channel, I thought it was very good. I never read the comic, so I don't know how it compares, but I'll be watching every Sunday. pisses me off that I don't get AMC in HD though.

I know nod there are a lot of very fair questions raised on this show but given the premise, I usually just ignore a lot of them. Why did Hershel's shotgun have unlimited ammo back at the farm? Sometimes it's better to just not worry about loose ends laugh out loud

As for the water, yeah, it definitely wasn't fatal, but it did look like it was ripping decomposed muscle from bone, which could leave them all as debilitated as Bicycle Girl from season 1? Dontknow

It looked to me like some of the heads were exploding with the water pressure.

Still trying figure out how one sprays high pressure water from a fire truck without the engine running and the PTO engaged...
Even better question, they're 2yrs or so into a zombie apocalypse, so how in the hell are they still finding vehicles with enough battery power to start the engine? If I go a couple weeks without cranking a car and I have to charge the battery.

And they're not far from Atlanta so why does it always seem like the towns are a million miles apart. I've been to Atlanta MANY times. You can drive for 2 hours away from the city in any direction and you're still in the suburbs. Neighborhoods, shopping centers, hospitals, schools ... they're everywhere.

But not these people. They mostly walk and never pass a damned thing. Unless of course, it's a prison, a slaughterhouse, or a little wooden church in the middle of nowhere.

They should have picked Florida for the filming of this series. You can get on I10 between Tallahassee and the Alabama state line and there really is nothing. laugh out loud

That's unrealistic as George Zimmerman would have killed off all zombies. And a few non-zombies.

I guess that's another suspended-belief thing for me. Mostly because I've never been to GA, but it leans towards the "organic matter" motif when they are always in the wilderness and not always under four walls and a roof Dontknow

The high pressure water from the deck gun without the pump running did bother me. As the battery thing does as well. A little bit. I chalk it up to people either using the machine in the interim, or someone charging the battery. We have seen people charging stuff using solar, as well as the bicycle contraption at the hospital. In the end, I think to myself "This is a show about zombies, in a world that had no idea what a zombie was before the apocalypse". In the end it's a tv show, and not real.

yeah, i looked up some of the actual locations last week (yes, someone has made a Walking Dead locations list on Google Maps) and was surprised at 1) how close together it all was and 2) how much urban environment existed between them. the show definitely does give a feel that Atlanta proper is pretty small and surrounded by thousands of acres of teeming woods, but it doesn't look like that's the case in real life. i'd actually be OK with them staying more suburban: seems like it would open the door for more incidental contact with other survivors.

as for this specific episode: i also have my doubts about the ability of a long-dormant and non-running fire truck to spray high-pressure water, but hey, Walking Dead world. at least they took great pains to show the flesh of the zombies sloughing off when hit by the stream, including heads opening up, so it wasn't a complete logistical mess. however, the initial walker fight after the bus crash was a little maddening in that there were several "kill shots" where knives went in under the mouth and extended into it, maybe into the nasal cavity a bit, but never touched even frontal lobe, much less brain stem. this isn't new, but it seemed there were more in a short time than previous episodes.

i didn't want to see the last flame of hope die in Abraham and some of the others, but it had become fairly apparent that Eugene wasn't the person he led them to believe. the awkward introvert interactions, flat voice, and lengthy-for-Georgia words might convince those who are desperately searching for a reason to go on, but looking in from the outside, his complete lack of specifics and uber-cowardly ways belied someone just looking to keep his skin intact. i was going to feel sorry for Abraham anyway when the reveal happened, but after the flashbacks in this episode and his reaction to the walker-filled town, i'm now fairly worried as well. if this weren't a show, i'd put even money on him killing himself or slaughtering everyone but Rosita and starting over. as it is, my bet is on him going back with the rest of the group haunted by the fact the last punch and fall killed Eugene.

i'd say Glenn is a better man than me, but i'm not sure if agreeing with an illogical leader and putting the group in more danger is something to be admired. i happened to be watching with someone else this week, and we were both very frustrated with Abraham through the majority of the show. i get his stereotypical "the mission comes before all of us" mentality, but past a certain point, the number of tactical blunders can't be ignored. i admire the group's forgiveness to a point, but not turning back for the church after the bus crash ranks pretty high on the "you're going to regret this pretty soon" scale, as did leaving the very agreeable book store.

this wasn't technically a bottle episode, but it sure felt like it: no matter their location, the characters were having the same conversations and dealing with the same specific conflicts/issues (and doing it badly). we got short reprieves in the forms of Tara giving Eugene a pep talk, Glenn and Maggie having an intimate conversation, and Abraham banging Rosita, but the road always led back to Abraham's borderline-mad obsession with making good time and Eugene's unraveling tale. i actually found this episode less interesting than last week's, which from a setting standpoint, was much more limited. i felt like all the themes and interactions in this week's could have been done in half the time and given us some of that sweet, sweet nectar that will be Daryl and Carol busting Beth out of the hospital.

Is not sure why they're scrunching everything into that little of a space. From the comic source, they're spread out all over the Atlanta metropolis to northern Georgia. I'm sure their excuse is to make this as claustrophobic as possible to make it feel like they're really kind of trapped in a certain region with zombies all around. I've not paid much attention to the actual GA maps that are floating around that explain about where they are in relation to the landmarks in the show, but hell I figured they were more in northern GA away from Atlanta by now but seems not.

I have to agree with most of you. I enjoy watching TV shows solely for the purpose of them staying true to technical and scientific cannon, which is clearly more important than the story.

I still don't know why the Smoke Monster made mechanical sounds Frown

Do you have a link to that map? The only one I found was a filming locations map, which would obviously be closer scrunched than a locales map.
