I've gotten this deal 3 years in a row.

I see nothing on the main site yet, but local sites are showing the deal.

Enter your zip code and see if your local one is offering.

For the planet fitness haters, just show me a place with the same or more equipment for $8.25 per month.

just be wary of the rules.
no deadlifting, no grunting, no "slamming the weights" (this means even if you aren't purposefully slamming or dropping the weights, if you're just lifting heavy and the weight gets put down slightly too loud, they'll chastise you).

there is a "lunk alarm" they will sound if you violate their rules. they have no qualms with canceling your membership on the spot if you break any of them.

this gym is better suited for the casual gym goer (only uses treadmill, takes classes, no compound lifts, etc.)
they offer free bagels and pizza every month.

they offer free bagels and pizza every month, why would a gym do this?

laugh out loud seriously? Sounds like a crappy gym! Thank god I live in a small town that has a gym and there is usually nobody there. Whole gym to myself!

With the $29 enrollment fee and $29 annual fee, it seems that the $299 Costco 24hr Fitness 2-year membership is a better deal. Do I see this wrong?

Meh, regular price is $120/yr and they offer the same deal this time every year. Not a SD IMHO.

Wrong, see above quote for fees regularly associated w/ the $10/month membership

Thanks for the clarification. The only club in Utah subscribing to the $99 deal is in Logan, which is 80 miles away, so no go for me.

I'm still laughing at the free pizza... I tried this place because I was broke and gave up on it after a week. I hated the fact there were no squat racks. Total waste if you can't perform the most crucial workout for your legs. Frown

Although it is great for runners and people who like to say they work out Smilie

WTF! I would NEVER go to a gym that gives out bagels and pizza. I don't even know what to say.....unbelievable

My son and his friend belong to Planet Fitness. They both run track, and like to use the aerobic machines when the weather is bad, and then they use the weight equipment a couple of times a week.

I think Planet Fitness definitely serves a niche that other clubs don't. If you want to grunt, yell, throw the weights down so that they can be heard across the room, good for you. There are a 3 clubs within 5 miles of my house that will suit you. Planet Fitness opened up about a year ago, and seems to be doing well.

No need to thread crap if it's not your thing. Too much testosterone?

And no, they don't cancel memberships without warning you 1st.
Of course, if you enjoy a more manly club, you'd be foolish to join Planet Fitness.

It's not thread capping if it's still on topic. Potential gym members need to know all the facts before hand.

p.s. Gym sucks (<--now that's a thread crap)

Repped for the deal. This beats the $1 down and $10 a month. I've used this place with a friend and it is good for those who like to use the ellipticals or treadmills. Thanks!

And why do you assume that anyone who grunts is some meat head loaded with testosterone? I've seen a lot of guys in my gym that meet that stereotype look except when you go talk to them they're actually extremely nice people and very helpful. There are douchebags anywhere but you can't just assume everyone who grunts or looks a certain way is one.
