And take pictures. I just LOVE pictures of food.
Carolina BBQ Pork
2 onions, quartered
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon paprika
2 teaspoons salt
teaspoon ground black pepper
1 (4-6 Lb.) pork butt or shoulder roast
cup cider vinegar
4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
1 teaspoons sugar
teaspoons dry mustard
teaspoon garlic salt
teaspoon cayenne
Hamburger Buns
Optional: Cole Slaw
Place onions in stoneware. Combine brown sugar, paprika, salt, and pepper; rub over roast. Place roast over onion.
Combine vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, red pepper flakes, sugar, mustard, garlic salt, and cayenne; stir to mix well. Drizzle about two thirds vinegar mixture over roast; cover and refrigerate remaining vinegar mixture. Cover stoneware and cook on Low 10 to 12 hours (High 4 to 6 hours). Drizzle the remaining third over the roast during the last half hour of cooking. Remove meat and onions (pull bone out of roast if roast isn't boneless), drain off some of the juice. Pull apart the meat with forks until it is the desired consistency. Serve meat and onions on bun, top with cole slaw if desired.
Can someone PM some good ways to make yams or sweet potato???
Thanks!
I have yet to try a recipe on here, but there are a few I'm eying!
Pizza In a Bowl (Chicken and Bacon)
Pizza Dough:
1 1/3 c water
2 ts sugar
1 1/4 ts salt
2 tb olive oil
2 tb cornmeal
2 c unbleached all purpose flour
1 c bread flour
1 ts baking powder
1/4 ts garlic powder
1/4 ts onion powder
1 1/2 ts instant yeast
Dough hook: Place water, sugar, salt and olive oil in bowl of mixer and
dissolve sugar and salt. Stir in yeast, bread flour and all purpose flour
and knead with dough hook to form a soft, but not-too sticky dough (about 8
minutes). Remove from machine and allow to rest, covered with a tea towel
about 45 minutes.
By Hand: In this case, use only all-purpose flour. Place water, sugar,
salt and olive oil in bowl and dissolve sugar and salt. Stir in yeast, all
purpose flour and knead to form a soft, but not-too sticky dough (about
8-l0 minutes). Allow to rest, covered with a tea towel about 45 minutes.
Deflate dough very gently before using and allow it to rest a further 15
minutes before using.
Pizza Filling:
5 to 6 Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts (Cut into chunks)
1/2 of a Red Onion
1 Jar of Alfredo Sauce
5 Cloves of Garlic Roasted (Put in oven at 300 degrees in tin foil with alittle olive oil for about 15-20 minutes)
1 pound of bacon (Cut into small chunks and fried till crisp)
2 Roma Tomatoes (cut into small pieces)
16 - 1/2 inch thick slices of Mozzarella Cheese
Cook the chicken till almost done, Add the alfredo sauce, bacon, and onions.
Take 4 Bowls and spray with cooking Spray. Put 4 slices of mozzarella cheese in the bottom of each bowl. Divide the Chicken mixture between the 4 Bowls.
Take the pizza dough and separate into 4 equal pieces.
Take each piece and pull over the top of the bowls. Seal each bowl by pushing the dough on the edges around the bowl.
Bake for about 30-40 minutes at 350 degrees until the dough is nice and brown.
When you pull them out, let them set for a few minutes and when your ready to serve, Just turn the bowl upside down on the plate and pull the bowl away from the edges of the pizza crust.
Then sprinkle some tomatoes on top.
Then you have a perfect Chicken Bacon Pizza on your plate. The Edges that were wrapped around the bowl, Stand up so the sauce and topping are inside. Its quite impressive.
Guests are always surprised when you take off the bowl. They never know whats inside.

I saw on Simply Italian that she took Jiffy cornbread mix and added sundried tomatoes that were soaked in olive oil in it... it looked SO good.
Smoky Cheeseball
2 cups of shredded smoked Gouda, Cheddar, or Swiss.
2 8 ounce packages of cream cheese.
2 teaspoons of steak sauce.
1/2 cup of butter or margarine.
2 tablespoons of milk.
1 cup of finely chopped nuts, toasted.
Assorted crackers.
1. Let cream cheese, shredded cheese, and butter stand at room temperature for 30 minutes. Add milk and steak sauce; beat until fluffy. Cover and chill for 4 to 24 hours.
2. Shape mixture into a ball; roll in nuts. Let stand for 15 minutes. Serve with crackers.
(Toast nuts by spreading onto cookie sheet in single layer and bake at 350 for 5 minutes.)
2 packs cream cheese (8oz)
2 packs chipped beef (that little cheap thin sliced beef that comes in small packs around 50-60 cents)
1 tablespoon Miracle whip
chopped pecans (optional)
Mix first 3 ingredients, roll in pecans. Refrigerate a couple of hours. You can add chopped onion in it, too, but she doesn't.

I mix the 2 pkgs. cream cheese with two pkgs. chopped chipped beef and green onions. I also add 1 TBSP. worchestershire sauce and about 1 tsp. garlic salt and mix together. Shape into a ball. Take the remaining pkg. of chipped beef and cover the cheese ball with them so that no cheese is showing. I like to serve this with Ritz crackers.
Crispy Baked Potato Wedges
5 Idaho potatoes, peeled and sliced into long wedges

Salt
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
(This step can be done 1 day before)Place the potato wedges in a saucepan with 2 quarts of cold salted water. Bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer for approximately 5 minutes, or until a knife pierces through easily. Drain. In a large bowl, toss the wedges with olive oil.
