Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

I am considering doing the 39 mile Avon walk for Breast Cancer. I would need at least $1800 by ending of April in donations in order to do the walk. If I can get enough people to pledge to Breast Cancer the money I will pledge to them I will complete the 2 day walk. I will post more details when I recieve the info from the Avon foundation.

Thanks, I entered too. Personally, I need all "hey, there may be goodies in your future" I can get to keep me going right now.

My sixteen year old cat, Miss Kitty, let out such a scream Sunday night when I scratched under her chin. EEK! I took her and the eight year old Azizi to the vet's. They were due for their six month's check-ups anyway. Seems Miss K had an abscessed tooth Frown so the vet cleaned her teeth (which he does annually) and also Azizi's teeth (he gets his cleaned every two or three years). Miss K didn't need to have the tooth pulled (she's already lost three of them) but between the two of my beauties, the bill came to almost $1,700. Faint JUST what I needed right after Christmas costs.

However, even as I type, Miss K is back to being happy and Azizi is still his laid-back California self, so except for my depleted savings account Sadwalk, all is well. Has anybody seen any contests with "win a year's worth of vet bills" as the prize? woot I'd be on that sooooo fast ! ! !

Meanwhile, I'm happy to say, our weather has improved dramatically. No rain in the extended forecast. bounce Yesterday, everyone showed up for the craft class I held at the senior center where I volunteer. We had a lot of fun, as usual, but I'm glad it was before I got the vet bill or I may have had a less positive attitude.

Long post, but what the heck, it's not like we're spending time tricking-out our netbooks. I WANT MY NETBOOK. It's mine. MINE, I say. But normally I just say it to the cats who are still exhausted from their ordeals so it's not like I'm getting much sympathy from them. As most of you are still waiting for your prizes, you'll understand my need for periodically venting. Embarrassment

That is too funny!! Not the vet bills, or your babies hurting, but, as I type I am still wiping droplets of blood off the back of my hand!! I was brushing my long haired cat Solomon, and he has gotten pretty nappy!! I swear I will shave him one of these days, and start over!!

Deer Camp

Three guys were at deer camp. They had to bunk two to a room.
No one wanted to room with Steve because he snored so badly. They decided it wasn't fair to make one of them stay with him the whole time, so they voted to take turns.
The first night, John slept in Steve's room and came to breakfast the next morning with his hair a mess and his eyes all BL00SSHOT. The rest of the guys said, "Man, what happened to you?"
He said, "Steve snored so loudly, I just sat up and watched him all night."
The next night it was Garry's turn. In the morning, same thing--hair all standing up, eyes all BL00DSHOT. Once again they asked, "Man, what happened to you? You look awful!"
He said, "Man, that Steve shakes the roof. I couldn't sleep a wink. I just watched him all night."
The third night was Herb's turn. Herb was a big burly guy who loved to fish and hunt -- a man's man.
The next morning he came to breakfast bright eyed and bushy tailed. "Good morning," he said.
The guys couldn't believe it! They said, "Man, what happened?"
He said, "Well, we got ready for bed. I went and tucked Steve into bed and kissed him good night. He sat up and watched me all night long."

I've only had one long-haired cat -- Ivan. He died when he was 20 years old (which is why I now have Azizi), but he was a grooming fanatic, thankfully. Never ever had a matting problem and even my vet told me more than once that I had lucked out.

I'm not certain why I've only had the one long-haired. All my cats have come from shelters and I never picked them out myself. My vet always sends one of his assistants to the pound to get me a companion for the cat who is left. There's no way I could go there myself because it would break my heart to only be able to get one of them. But so far, Ivan was the only long-haired one they brought back for me. And as far as I could tell, Miss Kitty is the only one who'd been abused. (Even after all these years, she has "issues" you wouldn't believe.) But I've been fortunate in my cats.

By the way, I hope you slapped some Neosporin on those scratches. It's the best thing I've ever found to heal them quickly and cleanly. nod
