Did you know people are BUYING them??
Anywho, My FIL rents an Apt in a Commercial building and he offered me his front room (it is currently houseing a big double shot indoor basketball hoop thingy I got a T 75% last year and a big blow up pool with balls in it.) to have permenitally set up my sale stuff in, and have peeps come in to the unit.
I know this has been disussed before but I am tring to avoid being a business - how exactly do I do that. Are there concrete rules? IIRC something like only a certain # of sales per year, and the items have to be priced less than retail or less than I paid for them???? If I technically had to set up as a business I could then claim his rent as a deduction and it would be a loss for the X amount of years able to claim a loss in a business in the taxes thingy so really it would ust be more work w/ the bookkeeping etc. No?
I mean it is his apt, It doesnt seem to different than you lucky girls with the fancy garages, right?
Ummm, just keep it a yard sale -- whether you use his room or not. If you want to literally make it a business, first of all, you can't claim all of the rent, only the portion of the house that is used to conduct business. Oh, and you better have proof that you are the one paying the rent. You would also need to get a sales tax permit -- which isn't a big deal in itself, but then you have to collect and pay sales tax. Then, there is the part where you would probably/possibly need to file quarterly income tax, although with low enough income you wouldn't. And receipts, you got all the receipts for the stuff you are selling? You are gonna need those too. And, I have no idea what your city business laws require permit wise and is he zoned for a business? But it sounds like an excellent space for the occasional yard sale. You are quite lucky.
I have a couple practically ancient ones that I am using. Let's see, neither one has any legs and, of course, they get hot so they can't sit on the counter. My store has a grill on one side so I set it on there and between the grease catcher on the griddle and the exhaust fan lid on the stove, it balances. But I think little by little it's not getting as hot as it used to.
This is the closest I have been able to find -- it's a commercial griddle from a restaurant supply place. I don't have any objection to it -- it is a little bulky but I could live with it -- but holy crap, it's $224 and who knows what to ship.

I took back my kersplat item today and had no problems. Thanks to I think it was gator or setsail that mentioned looking in shopping carts for abandoned cats. I found a $5 off $50 grocery one tonight, still inside the store.
Speaking of gator
I think WALOS is referring to this post with an OOP of 49¢.

Must have. I didn't see it either.
And whatalotofstuff, I don't understand why people don't think to grab other essentials. Even with coupons I can never get out of there for under $50, after any deal gift cards I pay with.
M2C, the glass cleaner is $1.99 at my closest store as well. I was at another store today and it's 97 cents there but of course they are OOS. Thought about getting multiple rainchecks for it.
