and vertigo sucks!
would having an empty towel bar screwed into the wall right by the toilet help? so you could use it as a grab bar the moment you feel it coming on?
dd had the nerve to ask me if she needs to buy a subscription to LifeAlert for me
flugette and MOT2, hope you both feel better soon!
flugette, do you have any ricola drops at home? not the sugar free kind, just the regular one, that comes in the yellow bag with herb pictures all over it and does not say sugar free on it? whenever i have a cough or sore throat, i heat up water, like you would for tea, but hotter, then in a cup of that super hot water, put two of those drops. stir from time to time for the first few minutes. the drops will melt completely and make "ricola tea"
drink up! it opens up the passages, soothes the cough and the throat. really helps!
I will probably give the Mucinex a try. Which kills me, because it has been on special at RA with Ups and such off and on, and I kept thinking I should get some, just to have it on hand. But did I???
It wouldn't be a big deal except that hubby and I are singing at a wedding on Saturday, and I kind of need to have a voice. Can't sing The Prayer if your voice is in shreds from coughing all week!!
And if Dreeme is cashiering on Black Friday, I am SO there...

The one you linked:
Guaifenesin 400 Mg - Expectorant. Dextromethorphan Hbr 20 Mg - Cough Suppressant.
Mucinex Extra Strength Brand:
Active Ingredients (In Each Extended-Release Bi-Layer Tablet): Dextromethorphan Hbr 60 Mg, Purpose Cough Suppressant. Guaifenesin 1200 Mg, Purpose Expectorant.
Not Extra Strength
Active Ingredients (In Each Extended-Release Bi-Layer Tablet): Dextromethorphan Hbr 30 Mg, Purpose Cough Suppressant. Guaifenesin 600 Mg,
The dosing amnt/ strength is not the same but the same two main ingredients are.
I really try to avoid meds as much as possible and try to take lower strength when possible. I have all sorts of stupid allergies and bad reactions to just about everything that I have to pay attention to labels. My dh was the one who( by label reading) found that most OTC stuff can be bought for less than name brand price at Walmart by getting thier store brand.
I have had bronchitis for a month and a half and half of the time it was due to a virus and the other part was due to infection. The mucus cough was the worst. I was using (free thanks to wags) Robitussin which has Guafenesin and it was thinning the mucous off but not helping with the cough. You can double the dose which increases the strength (to match Mucinex brand) but as bad as the bronchitis was with my asthma the 400 mg was a decent strength dosage and I only would take one pill and it would last 6-8 hrs sometimes longer.
I linked one of the Walmart mucus relief because I couldn't think of the name of the manufacturer, but there are three different types for different symptoms.
As far as stainless steel goes , I bought our Cuisinart pot & pan set 5 yrs ago at a military base exchange for less than $100. They have a heavy bottom.I actually bought them against my hubby's wishes. He swore up and down teflon was safe and that he would never used stainless because food would stick. Fast forward to a few months later and he reads an article in a magazine about the dangers of teflon and then he was instantly in love with stainless steel .They are always on sale for under $100 during the holidays at Kohls, Sears and Sams Club (Costco) and online
What I desperately need is a knife set. We have been married 16 yrs and we have Knives given to us when we got married and they are finally wearing down.
Does anyone have any recomendations? Brand or type that you swear by?
We are such knife virgins, and are clueless about what to look for in a knife and afraid to commit to any block set without knowing more info.

Every twelve hours is enough more convenient that I am willing to pay a little more for it over the knock off brand.
I never needed to take a second pill to make the dosage 800 mg,
I never took another pill the same day either so . Dh uses this brand more than I do and he says that it stays in your system most of the day. Not sure about extended release or how that works but
we have had both mucinex brand and wally's version and they both work the same length (non extended release version)
I how I envy those of you who have Rite-Aids nearby (or even in the same state!)
