I stayed up probably too late last night for no good reason really. The kids were all in bed.. nothing was pressing that had to be done. I was just feeling the desperate need for some "me" time.. Had the TV to myself. Chilling on the couch and watching hours of CSI.. Haven't gotten to watch TV that I like in forever! Finally around 2 am, I got sleepy and went to bed. Worked out okay cause my toddler was exhausted from the busy weekend and slept til 9:45. I feel great today!
Just finished my coffee.. I must say that either I am slowly adjusting to having better coffee since giving up the maxwell house and using my keurig, or I just had a bad cup before.. cause the coffee that I hated the first time I made it, was wonderful today!
I managed to use up some of my Kohl's coupons on Saturday. Didn't have much time to look around, so I got 3 more boxes of kcups.. Some butter toffee, breakast blend, and french vanilla.. The FV was so yummy today!
Headed out to the dentist today

I've had the Temptations and the Whiskas mq beep for me when I had both items, and plenty of both.
Anyhoo..I was talking with said neighbor and neighbor says..yeah we have it worse then you right now, we are living paycheck to paycheck.
I wanted to scream, because as you guys all know, we are living paycheck to paycheck. I keep telling this person, I will teach them to use coupons, etc, etc. So far, no interest.
But the comment, of them having it worse then us really got to me. We gift this family on a monthly basis about $400.00 woth of items. So that's my vent. I guess I resented the comment.

I would consider going over to them and saying something like, "I've been thinking about our conversation the other day. I don't think you realize that we are in the same boat and live paycheck to paycheck as well. I realize I have been just giving you these things, and not only have I given you a misrepresentation of our finances, but I think I have I have kind of crippled you by not teaching you how to do what I do, and I'm sorry for that. What I should be doing is teaching you how to shop wisely so you can stretch your money. I would like to show you what I do. These are the days I am going shopping... which day do you want to go with me?"
I'm all for helping out folks and gifting things away (and DH even more so - he'd give our cars away if someone asked...), but there's a point where you have to watch for someone taking advantage of you too.
Take 'em shopping, have them come over early so they can see how you would match up a sale + q, etc... If they refuse and make excuses - you'll know they are just expecting a handout. At that point, I'd refuse to keep gifting them that much stuff.

I worked my rear off yesterday. It was a looooong busy day. I was so tired dh gave me another footie massage and I crashed. However, River is cutting molars and we were up half the night with her. Then it started storming and she woke up again.
In between all of that I was having very weird dreams. 1st I dreamed about coupons. I was scanning them but nothing was happening. Then baby woke up. Fell asleep and dreamnt I was visiting my sister in Alaska (she lives with me now, but came from there a week ago). I walked out her door and out towards the car and a bear was sitting there. (she said there are bears all over the place where she lived and worked) It grabbed me and pulled me down next to it. I laid as still as I could so it wouldn't attack me. Then my sister came outside with bacon and the bear got up and let me go. When she fed it bacon ten little baby bears came running to her. It was like she was Snow White or sumpin.
Then baby woke up and electricity went out. Ugh.
Fell back asleep and had a dream that I took a pregnancy test and it was positive. Didn't believe it so I went to take another one and the potty was full of toys from Ambree. I had to get all the toys out first and then pee. The test took forever and the bartender (don't even ask) said it was negative. I was stumped and somehow timewarped back to my bathroom where I took another one. It was so positive it was glowing.
What. The. Hell.

MY dd I think understands and has taken her punishment well. Many people I've talked to think I was too harsh in not letting her attend homecoming. One person even said "Come on - homecoming only happens a few times in a person's life. Ground her after homecoming". To which I replied...yes, and lucky for her she has two more homecomings to look forward to. If something would have happened the cops wouldn't have said "oh - homecoming is this weekend? Well, why don't you report to the jail after homecoming.". Heck no...I'm a TCC meanie. Reputation to uphold. :no d:
Okay I found a link for the story, I hope you have your daughter watch it. Gosh that just made me cry! I just realized I hadn't yet. Like I was telling DD negligent automobile homicide, driving without a license and unauthorized control of a vehicle, that is a horrible thing to have to live with the rest of your life knowing your mistake killed someone.

for me, macys is one of the best places for kitchen. costco can be very cheap but the selection is extremely limited and many times not the best rated. i've stood on line at the cuisinart warehouse sale for hours and i can tell you macys has the same price for the most popular items like coffeemakers and food processors w/ more selection and no waiting and better return policy. you can also get just as cheap as amazon, don't have to worry about the price going up and down, you can check out the item in person and so easy to return.
and bunnies, same sort of thing happened when I took stuff to donate to a local mission that started giving me lists of things they needed (which is fine to a point, sometimes I neglect kids stuff because I don't have kids), but they started getting angry that I couldn't give them what they needed. Thank goodness I don't have to depend on a mission to get food/clothes/household items and I am far luckier than some of their clients, but that doesn't mean I have the money to fulfill your wishlist instantly! And it sucks being guilted when you're trying to do a good thing.

Yeah but your so rich just look at all your stuff! I have a neighbor down the street who is a single mom and she thinks the same way. I have actually took her coupon shopping a few times and she knows she should do it, she has a few times on her own, kinda (after I give her most of the Qs) but then she gets lazy. It is just so much easier to raid my pantry, she gets all the rewards and does none of the work! I was going to say cut em off your way to nice AND you are! But I realized I am doing the same thing!
As for the moochers - maybe ya'll could try selling the stuff to them. That way you are at least getting paid for the q's and work, and they get their stuff cheaper than regular retail. If they balk at that... let 'em figure it out on their own!!
