Hubby left here wearing his new attached to his head by the pin in his skull hearing aid this morning. Wow, you should have seen him yesterday. When they first got it programed and he put it on he was absolutely amazed. He didn't realize that when you cross or move your legs that your jeans make noise. He had never heard that. Then he picked up his fluorescent orange work hat that is some weird material (we had to leave straight from work) and couldn't believe how loud it crinkled. He about jumped out of his skin when we shut the van doors. We had to stop at Menards for more soffit material and he couldn't believe how loud it was in there -- I just told him, wait til you go to Wal-Mart. So, it was a pretty amazing evening. I can't wait to hear about his day today.

Ummm, and we did sort of end up in the Mexican restaurant to celebrate. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) But I didn't eat anything else yesterday -- does that count?

Oh how wonderous for him !!!! Must be fun to watch him.

I hope he doesn't wind up with a headache today, oh someone just wrote that while I was typing...I'm slow..
He could have alot of fun with that thing , he could eavesdrop in plain site for awhile LOL.

Considering the circumstances, you get a pass on the diet , just for yesterday LOL

I just can't keep up but just a quick post ...

To all the mourning Mom's , I'm truly sorry for your losses.
I think we should name these babies names , and I will be lighting a candle with you all at 7 pm in remberance along with all of you , tomorrrow evening , I already have two names and would like to rememberr as many as I can by name if you care to post them . I won't name the second but leave that up to her Mom if she cares to share that . That would be a three dimensional candle, and I post a pic one if someone can tell me how to do that. I don't see a way to add an attachment.

I'll start with a name Samantha

I'm going to leave this stand alone and try to catch up on other posts
Hugs to all the mamas out there. Funny you should mention that name...that is the name I gave the little one I lost. Well, actually it is Sam. Since we didn't know if it was a boy or girl and we didn't want to do the test to find out...Sam is a great fit.

Hugs! hug

The sort of weird thing is that my daughter has hyperacousis which is basically the opposite of being hard of hearing. She hears things normal people don't. So, she actually can eavesdrop in plain site... from a long way away.

I have a pendulum clock in the kitchen. The house is almost square - the kitchen is the south east corner. Her room is the north west corner in the basement. We have insulated the ceiling and all walls - including the interior walls of her room. She can hear the ticking unless she has her earplugs in or other noise on. We won't even talk about the cuckoo clocks. laugh out loud You can whisper and she can hear you even if she's in another room. It's CREEPY.

I'll try to update the whole list around 5:00 pm.

I like to think they are all friends , and know we are thinking of them .

My kids know what it is too... but the girls call their stuff their tutu... or their private... my son said my private, my private... lol

:
That is what ours are called here too.. Not that I have a problem with someone who chooses to call it penis/vagina.. Just wasn't my thing. The boys called it a peepee when there were really small, and the girls always used private. Now, the teens don't call it anythingLMAO cause they don't want to talk about that with mom and dad at all.. But to the toddler we say private.. of course she refers to everything down there as her bottom.. or sometimes I have to correct her cause she says "butt" which she learned from the teensRoll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Pumpkin pancakes sound good! But then so does pumpkin bread, and pumpkin pie... and those Archer Farms chocolate overload brownies.yummy

My 8 yr old is on a pancake kick and thinks IHOP is the greatest place ever invented. If we do happen to make pancakes, I make extra to freeze for him to have for a few days. He likes the Kellogg's frozen more so than the box mix frozen.

I bought one of those pancake popper type pans and was looking for recipes for it. Some included sparkling water. Any advice on pancake batter?
Not homemade, but we still have TONS of the hungry jack batter.. Come on, I can't be the only one who has batter from the great b2g1 hungry jack coupons. I gave away about 10 -12 boxes, and still have alteast that many. Several different kinds. We use it and make waffles in the waffle maker more than pancakes.
I heart some IHOP pancakes.. Harvest nut and grain rock!

Roll Funniest thing I have read today!
My DD saw my husband in the shower a few weeks ago. He never walks around naked, or lets her in the BR when he is in there, but she opened the door while he was showering and started staring at him without him knowing.. She started yelling, "daddy, what is that on your butt?" then she ran out and tried to get my 13 yo to come see what was on daddies butt LMAO

Okay, I thought I quoted Ank - but realized it didn't.. On the towel talk.. We have a problem with our towels smelling sour all the time. That is one reason I wanted to stock up on the from target when the bath coupon was out. I thought ours just needed to be replaced after all these years. We have ran bleach cycles in the washer, added small amounts of bleach to the load, used febreeze, fabric softener, etc. They smell fine when you first get them out, but as soon as they get wet, they smell horrible.. My DH says it smells like someone peed on them laugh out loud And the things that have gotten washed with them are bad too. My DH had a tshirt on a few weeks ago and when it started raining and he got wet, he smelled sour.. I haven't tried vinegar.. Maybe that will help! As far as the target towels go, they are the only ones we have right now that don't smell bad.
And I add bleach to my colored towels too. Just a half a cup or so and add it at the bottom, then I let the washer fill with water before adding the clothes. hasn't seemed to be a problem for the colors yet.

Mama, you need to jump on that ,the kids are already having sex at that age, and hearing all kinds of weird stuff from their friends.

He is Jersey schools ? I think he might have already see "the video " .
You need to explain in to him in a way that reflects your values and not the school system take on it.

Can the male in the house talk to him ?

Seriously Kallison, that is just silly!! I second what Ank said about teaching them the proper terminology for that reason alone if for nothing else. The only argument I could think to make against or with that is that it is probably important that you teach them that there are appropriate and not-so-appropriate times to be using such words....you know, like you wouldn't want them yelling those words down the aisles of Target I suppose Teehee

And as for the VS lady, that is just Crazy and makes no sense whatsoever.
I concur. My son knows the proper words for the body parts. The biggest issue is definitely the one of when/where to use those words.

On the other hand, we do also have nicknames for the various parts. Po-Po, Pay-Pay, and just plain Privates. (taught by DH) and they have saved the day a couple times in public. When son was younger he had some serious issues with an overly sensitive penis and would often complain in public about how his "Po-Po" hurt or that it wouldn't go down. Both of those conversations in public with the correct word would have raised more than one eyebrow and could have landed us in a Social Services office by some busy body thinking we must have been abusing him.

Irritable isn't the word. She wears earplugs at home a lot. She always wears them to sleep and often wears them up here just to block background noise out but she can still hear us and the tv just fine. Of course, now that I don't have to yell at hubby that could change!

There are certain things that seem to be especially irritating. Ticking clocks is a big one -- and hubby and I have a small collection of cuckoos(4) and antique clocks (5). She keeps stopping them. The turning signal in my van irritates her but the ones in her cars or our truck don't -- apparently Toyota has especially loud signals.laugh out loud Typing noise is bad for her for some reason. I don't think it hurt it just drives her nuts. I think her worst crazy maker is food -- spoons clinking in bowls and God forbid, you want to have a potato chip in this house. She will go bat shit psycho.

Remember that really good Pace coupons a couple years ago? Not the one referred to as "spicy" but it was a mfr. $5 off salsa. Target had the big jugs for just over $5. I bought a bunch thinking of her graduation party.... that didn't happen. LMAO We still have enough salsa to float a battleship.

If there is a lot of noise or even a very load noise, it does physically hurt. She went to the races this summer and has decided she won't EVER do that again. We used to go occasionally when she was little and I don't remember her complaining then. As she has gotten older it has gotten much, much worse. She is 20 now and I think it has stopped worsening which, I believe is pretty typical.

OMG - Too Funny! Mine is 7 and so far treats his with more disdain than anything thankfully.

I'm all for the right names being taught but that is a perfect example of how nicknames can be useful.

Loiuse, if your son is 12, in public school, he already knows. Your duty now is to give him correct information. hug I know it's hard.

L2B, maybe there is something in your water line, or the hose for the washer? Does the water from the tap smell off? Do you close the washer lid between loads? It is more important for front loaders but mildew can build up in any washer.

Several years back my sister just in general conversation asked her twenty something son what he was doing that night. He told her that he and some friends were going to a Gentleman's Club. She thought that sounded really nice and asked him if he had something appropriate to wear. Did he need a sport coat? LMAO

And all this talk about parts and kids and stuff keeps making me think of my son. He was probably 15 or so and was being typically mouthy so I proceeded to say to him, "what did your father tell you?" He looked me straight in the eye and said,"Keep your snake in it's cage". BigeyeLMAO Didn't even crack a smile.

I can actually imagine it would make her irrritable or psycho ..she probably never gets any quiet , and they have done studies that constant ambient noise can make people extremely irritable after a period of time.

That's to funny about the salsa, it's good in eggs or meatloaf ,makes a great fish topping, and it;s veggies.
