I make this Apple Pie [foodnetwork.com] for both Thanksgiving & Christmas since I discovered the recipe a few years ago...it is the BOMB! I even use a store bought crust because it is fairly labor intensive but worth every bite
Only thing you're missing is a festive cocktail
For those who wanted the carnitas recipe (and it turned out yummy today!), here it is:
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon crumbled dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 (4 pound) boneless pork shoulder roast
2 bay leaves
2 cups chicken broth
Directions:
1. Mix together salt, garlic powder, cumin, oregano, coriander, and cinnamon in a bowl. Coat pork with the spice mixture. Place the bay leaves in the bottom of a slow cooker and place the pork on top. Pour the chicken broth around the sides of the pork, being careful not to rinse off the spice mixture.
2. Cover and cook on Low until the pork shreds easily with a fork, about 10 hours. Turn the meat after it has cooked for 5 hours. When the pork is tender, remove from slow cooker, and shred with two forks. Use cooking liquid as needed to moisten the meat.
And I made a snickerdoodle cake for hubby, and that, too, was delicious. I have now had my sugar quotient for the week!!
each time a cashier brings that up, i firmly state it means per item purchased, not per transaction, they look dumbfounded/in headlights/unable to come up with a good counter argument, and then i counter with, "anyways, moving on..., it's the correct item and the correct coupon. anything else?"
translated, spin the wheel sister/mister and come up with your next half-baked objection if you must. so i'll get to swatting that.
usually, they begrudgingly put it through. sometimes they dig in their heels and then i just politely ask for the item to removed from order, or on rare occassions, i just cancel entire order and walk away.

I always make my sweet potatoes with brown sugar, white sugar, and butter mixed into the already cooked potatoes. I then spoon them into a baking dish and place a pineapple ring on it, then a marshmallow, and lastly a cherry. Bake them until they are nice and melted with the marshmallow. They are soooooooo yummy.

I'm hoping my mom & dad come down so all (almost) my family will be here. My brother doesn't get to come down because of Army obligations but I'm very excited.

Turkey stuffed with 3 oranges with holes poked in them.
Stove top
Mashed pot
Candied Swt pots
corn or creamed corn
green beans with garlic & pine nuts
a can of cranberry for MIL
and every type of dinner roll and/or biscuit I have found
For breakfast/snack
A crescent star use 2 pks of crescents lay them out on a cookie sheet one overlaping the other in a star shape,or my case it looks more a wreath, then fill it with cream cheese and strawberry or raspberry preserves, put second layer of crescents making sure to pinch around the edges, bake for about 15 mins.
I also make a jello surprise, its a can of chunky cranberry can of crushed pineapple, chopped walnuts,2 boxes of jello raspberry and or cranberry,follow directions on box plus add canned pineapple and cranberries, put it in a circle jello mold. Then u make a filling for center out of cream cheese and whipped cream and chopped walnuts.
One jello is chilled and set put it ojn a serving platter and fill the center with the filling.chill again.
