rangers in june, i think. yeah, late june. gonna be hot, but other yrs was in july or aug.

then eventually oakland, twin cities and tampa when dh's team goes to play there. then i will have gone to every major league park in the states. i haven't been to a game in toronto but dh has.

My queen size had the flocking on one side. It held up just fine, didn't hurt it a bit. It's actually kind of nice cuz then when you are wet you don't get that wet skin on plastic thing either sliding all over or skidding to a dead stop.

The other nice thing about them -- they are stable. You can move around and not flip off. I have sat right in the middle of mine with my lunch on a plate, reading a book with no mishaps.
i have 2 of those. one from 75% off target has never been opened. just couldn't pass it up for 4.9x. even though mil had left her tall aerobed here. but that one ended up staying at sil's house this summer b/c hers was broken. so it's all good cuz i do need 2 and i didn't like the one w/o flocking. i think target will go clearance in the next few months. i can't remember exactly when but after camping season, which is now. bff needs an air pump on clearance b/c she refuses to pay more for a pump than the bed laugh out loud so keeping an eye over here too.

i don't remember how old he was but i think older than 8 when nephew cracked his ipod screen same day he got it, xmas day. i think it depends on the personality and maturity of the child. every kid is different.

Sounds yummy, I don't need fudge but have Always wanted to learn to make it and I just never got the opportunity to learn from my grandma.

Quote from TheGh0st :
Easy Fudge:
1 Pound bag of Chocolate Chips (Semi-sweet or dark according to taste)
4 Table Spoons Butter
1 14-oz can of Sweetened Condensed Milk

- Mix all 3 ingredients in a bowl or small pan
- Melt by placing the bowl (or pan) on top of another pan with water simmering in the bottom pan.
- Stir until chips are completely melted
- Pour into 8x8 buttered pan

Variations:
- Add a few drops of Mint extract or Orange Extract
- Mix in some nuts
- Mix in some Raisins & a few drops of Rum extract

I also have poured the fudge into mini-muffin pans with paper nut-cup liners to make them more "fancy" for gift giving.

This is really a hard recipe to mess up. And tastes great!

My oldest tells wonderful stories but has a hard time *writing* down her stories. I've been trying to find a way for years to get her to record the stories she tells us or her siblings (and I don't mean lies, I mean great stories), and she has a long running story that she and my dad have been carrying on for years.

It wasn't until earlier this year that I thought to ask her about typing it out in Word. She loved it! Said it was a much easier way for her to write down her story.
That is really neat about the ongoing story. Smilie I actually found it easier for me to write on paper - I like that process. I used to pay my younger sister to type my stories into the computer for me. *laugh* I type fast, I just didn't like to do it. But, it's different for everyone. It is awesome that your DD found a way to get her creative stories written down! Keep them for her - she'll get a kick out of them later.

Mine didn't get ipods until the last 2 years, but have had game systems for as long as I can remember.. comes from having a DH that is a gamer.. I swear my oldest has been playing nintendo since he could walk laugh out loud
We are actually pretty big gamers - but more pc games than game systems. We did get a Wii last Christmas as a family present. I wouldn't mind an mp3 player. I'm sure my oldest would like one too, but she really hasn't said much about it. *shrug*

Yeah, I knew that and it didn't surprise me. I never suspected otherwise of him. But I did wonder if that kids who plays is nephew is related to him. I didn't find anything to indicate that he is -- just an actor. I like Good Eats. Don't like that other competition show though.

Now that I could've told ya when I was a kid and he was the "hot" thing on tv... *shrug*

From what I read, all the folks that portray "family" members on the show are actors except for his grandmother (now deceased) and wife & daughter.

Alton Brown is the host of Good Eats and is also a commentator (?) on Iron Chef (food network).

I remember "Zack" being on NYPD blue, but I don't know much else about him.

your welcome!

you can look at dark/toasted sesame oil being basically the equivalent of extra virgin olive oil when they finish the dish by drizzling it on soups, breads, salads etc for flavoring. but you use even less than evoo b/c the flavor is very strong. i have accidentally poured on too much and then everything just tastes like sesame oil. it's really just meant to give a warm note and hint of sesame flavor to the dish but not taste like peanut butter which i have done.

if you ever eat ramen/instant noodles, it's in those flavor packets along w/ white pepper and msg. and maybe some dehydrated scallions.

so that's how i dress noodle soups- drizzle of sesame oil, white pepper and chopped scallions if i have them. can also use cilantro/chinese parsley. a teaspoon of fried shallots and/or fried garlic from the southeast asian section is really nice too.

now i gotta go find pacific low sodium chicken broth on sale and buy some noodles, mmmm!
