Good morning ladies! Just saw this over in Hot Deals and thought I would post it here. I thought I remember seeing that some of you use Murad products? Was it you Getgreen? Anyways, it looks like a pretty good deal.

slowtech, I was never a fan of non-stick, and the older stainless steel set I bought at JCPenney almost 20 years ago doesn't have non-stick. 90% of the time, I still use that. The only Calphalon piece I use from that set is the stockpot because it's larger than the other one I have.

And for some reason when I bought the set, I didn't stop to think that it's non-stick. *sigh*
kinda same story here. when i got out of college i saw a some nice looking thick s/s pots and pans but had cheap handles at a clearance store. i told my mom i think for my bro who was living in an apt off campus and she ended up buying a set for each of the 3 of us. two of the glass lids busted early, so for the skillet i bought one of those universal lids from tjmaxx and over 15 yrs later the handle is getting loose on one of them, but overall they've ended up lasting longer than i ever thought and i use them all the time.

so i don't like to buy pots and pans w/ glass lids either.

I am in a hurry but just wanted to share with you guys..Today is a religious fasting day for us, we fast until moonrise ( not even water)..It is called "karvachauth" and wives keep it for the long life of their husbands..DH also fasts along with me heart..I can do the no eating part but no water part is tough...bye catch u guys later...
Quote from bblueskye :
Hopefully this keeps the husbands on their best behavior around this time. Otherwise their wives might just "accidentally" eat a big slice of cheesecake and drink a nice glass of wine on that day! Rofl2
awe, that's cute that he's doing it w/ you. but maybe he's just making sure you don't give up too early Evil

Quote from love2beeamom :
Why is it people always think if you work in computers you can fix anything. A lady at church accidentally erased all of the pictures off her mom's camera. DH found a program for her to try.. Instead of doing it, she brings him the camera to church Sunday. He spent 4 hours working on those stupid photos last night.. It was kinda cool though cause he got back almost every one.
as long as it's only occasionally, i look upon it as a good thing b/c it pushes you into new experiences, learning new things, etc. that's how i got into sd. i was shopping for ipods online for somebody else and here i am 4 yrs later.

knowing how to retrieve photos could be a valuable skill. you never know. some people have even created their own businesses or side jobs b/c most people don't know how to do that.

it's also important to be able to say sorry, no, here's all the info how to do it, good luck, so people don't start taking advantage of you.

Quote from setsail :
Oh that wouldn't work with dh. He would pout. shake head Last year, the desktop that *I* used fried. Instead of me getting a computer replacement, I got the computer he was using and he bought a new one from HP.

Now, another desktop was ready for replacement. We were *supposed* to be rebuilding the computer for the kids but it somehow turned into giving him a faster computer. I bought our younger dd a netbook in August and he pouted because he wanted a new computer, so he got a netbook. The good thing is that we now have 3 desktops, 3 laptops and 3 netbooks to print from. laugh out loud

If I have a phone upgrade, and get something "cool", he whines because suddenly his phone isn't cool enough. He's added phone lines to go get that phone he wanted so badly when he couldn't wait 2 months for his yearly Sprint upgrade. *sigh* That's actually how we first ended up with the kids having cell phones, they would get passed down the ones he no longer wanted.

My GPS died and I bought a new one (one of the $40 clearance TomTom last year) and he would have pouted if I hadn't bought him one as well. That's how it goes around here.

eta I missed out on the free Thomas last year. Frown Our local TRU wouldn't honor the coupon the first time I tried to pick one up.
my dh is total opposite. even though he works in IT he is so oblivious. we had a virus one time and he was like, no we don't. until the window tabs would start multiplying for no reason! after our computer crashed and luckily db was able to restore everything, i was the one who looked for a slickdeal on an external hard drive to back up our computer and photos. computer crashed again and dh hadn't run the backup for like 6 months and hadn't backed up the pics from our latest vacay. if db wasn't able to retrieve again, dh was going to be in huge trouble for being so lazy about backing up. and when ext hard drive was so obviously broken b/c it was making funny noises, dh was like, no it's not. Confused you can't hear that it's making all these odd noises it never did b4? so i was the one who again did a sd alert for another ext hard drive earlier this yr. made dh stop at every target along the way from kansas city to st louis looking for the 75% off western digital.

when our garmin was 2yrs old, the update screen kept popping up, i was the one who looked it up and found it would cost about $70, more than the price of 75% off clearance gps at target. dh was like no, no, no, we don't need a new one, until we were on vacay and the maps were totally outdated in kansas city earlier this yr and he finally realized, yes, must get a new one.

i don't know what's wrong w/ dh, i'm *slowtech* whereas he worked w/ computers and programs all day long. how is it i'm the one that shops for all the electronics and he doesn't even realize when we get a virus or something is broken Confused?

it does push me into learning new things, but at the same time, since we don't work as a team, i have less time to take care of all the other stuff like fixing the faucet, fixing the toilet handle, cleaning out the garage, etc. i think i have more work being married than if i were single b/c i have to do stuff he should be taking care of Mad!

Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)
bk, wendys, mcd or pizza. i know i wouldn't be able to get pizza around me but that would be fun to do as a remembrance of college.

Tanner (DS) somehow managed to cut his toe so off to the ER we went. Poor baby. It was gushing blood and it's all over the place. Going to have to shampoo carpet tomorrow. He got stitches and we go back in 12 days to have them removed. What a night.
yuck, blood! sorry! hope all the kids are ok. but w/ kids that sort of stuff comes w/ the territory. i remember busting open my chin when i was 7 and my brother was 6, fighting over the bathroom door.

Whew, just poppin' in to say hi Wave

Jamie, hope Tanner's toe doesn't hurt too much!! That is scary. When I was little my cousins were over and my mom had just opened a can of some sort and threw the pieces in the trash (this was waaaaaayyyy before the days of recycling obviously!) and my cousin was young enough that she didn't know any better than to get into the trash can...got into it and cut her finger bad on the lid. To this day my mom is still anal about those cans and lids and so am I. DH thinks I'm nuts. The way our kitchen is set up dd can't get into the kitchen still. Baby gate is still up mainly because I don't want her anywhere near our stairs to the basement after our dog falling from the top of them onto the concrete. But also is good because she can't get to cleaning supplies or the trash which is also in there.

Speaking of the kitchen our partial remodel is happening next week. Countertops are in and we have the new sink, faucet, tile, etc. bought. Also dh is installing our new front door on Friday. Gonna be a whole new house with all this furniture and remodeling!

laugh out loud I don't know if it's the same ghost. I've been hearing things drop on the floor upstairs since I moved in. I don't know what DD saw LMAO I refuse to believe in ghosts so I'm just gonna stay with 'unexplained noises'.

Got a call from the oncology office today. Doc wants to see me Friday. They wouldn't give me the results of my tests over the phone, which really irritates me as I hate waiting. I'm sure it's gonna be ok, but after all that, I can't help but be nervous. I do work in mental health so I think I'll go round up a valium or two from one of these docs...just to make the waiting easier Roll

Creepy noises EEK!

I hope you get good news ,and oh the waiting.......OMG

Just had a major shopping day at T. Used up my last 10% Q and had to BUY Annoyed TP and papar towels. Shocking

picked up a few 75% off Crayola kits for the kids. The 3-D chalk and paints (they always beg for these..) and the big packs of mix-colors markers. I guess it's Crayola's version of Blendy pens.

I'm exhausted from putting up all the groceries and stuff. Faint

I used *some* toupons but not enough to warrant carrying my TCC card Hide I haven't ordered toupons in about 2 months. I was actually going all noob and using 1 of each coupon from the P&G and combining with TQs. Sad state of affairs Wink

Howdy, guys! Rainy, HUMID day here - in the mid-70s! We really need to get back to the fall weather, because my kids only have one or two short-sleeve shirts in their drawers! laugh out loud I thought I was safe waiting until mid-October to change out their summer/fall wardrobes, but apparently not!

For anyone who's doing Rite Aid this week, how many candy bars have you gotten? I've only gotten one full deal in, not sure I have quite enough coupons left to do another one. Probably will do it, just use Ups to cover the rest. WIsh I had more of the NYC coupons. Of course, I've about wiped out two of my stores, just doing one deal at each store. Someone has definitely gone before me clearing the shelves. That's what I get for not going until Wednesday!

Um, should I be concerned if my 3yo daughter just came and asked my 5yo son if he wanted to come and be the doctor?? Rofl2 EEK!

OK, so ... anyone been to the American Girl Place in NYC? Got any slick deals for it? I am hoping to go the second weekend in Dec with my family. I have never been to NYC when its decorated for Christmas, and I really want to see that. Plus, it'll be partly to celebrate my middle child's birthday, so I want to go there. Hubby's aunt lives in NJ, so we'll stay there. I'm really excited because I love NY, I just want to make sure we can afford it.

Hope he is feeling better today. Like others I had to re-read it a couple time before realizing he hadn't needed his entire toe sewn back on.

the haunting saga continues and I'm getting NO sleep. So now DD and my friends think I should get the ghost people to come out and do their thing in the house. Why, is what I say. So they tell me I have a ghost, what difference will that make. He'll still be here. He's young, therefore he doesn't bother me, just DD laugh out loud well, there are those strange things that fall onto the floor upstairs but thats just annoying.

So last night we had dinner with my neice and when we got home, I opened the door and promply yelled, Hi Honey, we're home!!

FTR, I really don' think my house is haunted, don't believe in seeing translucent people roaming around....but I would like to know what keeps falling onto the floor upstairs. First time it happened it scared me silly and the dog went crazy, but now we're just kind of used to it.

Oh well, it's scaring DD so she decided to crawl into bed with me. So I had her and her big belly and 2 dogs in my bed. NO sleep for me Annoyed
EEK! I remember you posting about some bumps in the night a few months ago. I was so worried it was a burglar then. My mom swears she never believed in ghosts until she saw one herself. And she tries to tell me I saw one once in high school though I'm convinced it was an intruder I scared away with my screaming.

Have you double and triple checked that you don't have something furry in the attic?

Actually, I'd like to see a ghost if they were real, even thought about studying para-psych in college. Still I'm a skeptic on the whole spirit thing. If something paranormal is truly happening I'd be more inclined to believe it was some sort of unintentional telekinesis. I even have this hairball theory that events at a place popularly "known" to be haunted may be the result of large numbers of people all thinking at the same time "gee, I wonder if X is happening over at that haunted house right now". And there pooled thoughts somehow making it happen as a result. (as if that doesn't sound crazy in its own way)

I have never been a part of the official thread (not even sure where to find it...) but I have been doing really good for a while now. Hopefully the scale will start noticing and move accordingly Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

and since the 'big update' I just don't feel confident enough to bother with hardcore toupons Sadwalk

How's everyone today?
I feel like such a unslickdealer...LOL
I have hardly done any deals lately. I agree with the updates I have hardly stepped foot into Target. Sadwalk
I hate the can lids I always seem to get my finger. I just did it last night. I am seriously thinking about getting the tupperware can opener that takes the glue off so the can doesn't have sharp edges. Luckily my DD is great about not getting into things and has never gotten into the garbage.
