So.... how do you know for sure if you have a virus or not? My puter has been annoyingly slow. Also, earlier today I was getting a problem with internet searches. It kept taking me to a zoombucks search page when I would type in the url for yahoo. When I would click on the link that came up in the zoombucks search, I went no where - it came back to the same search page. GRRR... I guess that's what I get for not knowing what I was doing.

I did download sandboxie and am using that now - but... *sigh*

Sorry you had to clean a virus. Just this morning DH gave the infamous "come here a moment" since I'm the tech in this house! He wasn't even on a porn site Teehee and the newest rogue nasty just like Security Tools popped up. I've cleaned them before and was able to nuke it, but I just HATE these things.

Wave Thanks Cate!!

OK minor gripe here. I managed to track down 3 of the Garmin 1690 GPS' on clearance for $100. One was for myself but I had seen them selling on Flea-Bay in the $240 range. So I thought what the heck I'd buy them and try to flip them on the Bay to earn some X-mas Cash. Seemed like a win win. Double my investment and convert my T GC's into actual cash in the bank.

But shortly after listing my two everyone else started listing theirs and each new person seems determined list theirs at a slightly lower cost than the previous lister. Now the lowest BIN listing is down to around $189. I understand why people are doing this but it just bugs me that we as sellers are only hurting ourselves by trying under cut each other. If we would all just stand firm we could all sell our items for a similar price eventually.

This is one reason why I hardly ever do the bay anymore.

** oh and for my KC TCC'ers those last 2 were not easy to get. They were actually on the shelve in Olathe still tagged at $279 but ringing up INF I had to do a bit of fast talking to convince the store manager to go ahead and sell it to me at all and even more to convince her to go to 75% off even though the last price in her system was only 30% off. Guess I'm trying to say I don't feel guilty for having taken the chance away from someone else finding them since they were already destined for salvage.
I should have you shop with me. I found a Sunbeam iron, regular price $21.99. Marked at 50% off, but came up INF. Found one in Osage Beach and one here in KC. Neither store would sell it to me at 75%. I guess they'd rather make 10 cents on the dollar instead of 25%.

Still a pretty good deal though, T. seems to run them on sale frequently. DH really likes SmartOnes, not as much for me but I do like to keep a few on hand that I like and I am almost out.
I have *lots* of extras, PM your addy and how many you need!

I'm glad you were able to talk the manager into the 75% off price. I wasn't so lucky, even with your help. I know my closest store has 2 of the 1690s and 1 of the 205w's and they won't go lower than 50% off on them b/c they are tagged that way. Sadwalk

I do have one store that has the 205w still ringing up 50% off so maybe it'll get marked down to 75% off, we'll see. But I wanted the 1690 to replace the one that was stolen out of my DH's car a month ago.

TheGhost: Try Craigslist for selling your extras, you might have better luck (and less competition).

There are $3/10 peelies on the Smart Ones. I just found some last week. Secret Secret

Try selling at the flea market with people who do this. It makes no sense to me. Confused I sell my items very cheaply and instead of trying to run in the same price range I have a woman who sends people to my sale, or comes herself (she introduced herself once) and then undercuts my prices at ridiculously lower prices. Prices that I wouldn't even be selling at all if that is all you could get for it. I think that $3 -$3.50 for a Schick refillable razor is low enough, and $4 for a large imotion is low enough and $2.50 for a bottle of Olay BW that costs $5.99 at the store is plenty low, and a bottle of John Frieda shampoo at $2 is plenty low. However, this women will price the Schick razors at $2, the large imotion at $2.50, Olay at $1.50, and the Frieda at $1.50 just to under price me.

She is just screwing herself more than me, because I refuse to stoop to that level and sell for nothing. In some of the cases of her pricing I don't even see how she can price it that low, and still make money, as her prices are what I paid after coupons practically. I don't have time during my flea market to walk around pricing her stuff or have people do it for me, but I do have customers who tell me some of her prices or I see the things in their bags and ask them.

Eventually she will sell out of her things for the unrealistic low prices and people will buy from me at my fair prices. Some people tell me they will pay my prices, because they don't like her. I don't know her, but she must have some kind of attitude or something for my customers to tell me this. The way I see it is if she can sell for nothing and make money good for her, but I can't. I still make good money without giving the store away, and I have a feeling even if she sells more volume then me, and I am not sure that is even true, she doesn't make as much as me, because she sells to cheaply. I have also heard she does not have her things neat like me, nothing is clearly priced, and things look dirty sometimes.

After all that low pricing on some things however, she really has wonky prices on other things. For instance, she asks $1.50 for the glade carpet sprinkles, which seems high to me. I sold mine for $1, but raised the price to $1.25 since she asked more. I guess I do alternative pricing, but raising my prices when she is higher. I don't like to lower prices, because I feel I am fair. Plus it isn't all about what the product costs, there is coupon costs, gas costs, car wear and tear, time and effort etc... I'm sure those that sell understand.

I don't understand why she just doesn't price things the same as me if she is so worried about it, can't she still sell to some people with the same pricing? If not she is in the wrong business. When I lower any prices to come close to her strange pricing, which is rare, my stuff flys. No way am I going to sell my Schick Hydro Razors for $2 ever. And I sell the heck out of the big imotions at $4 each, so when people say they have seen them for $2.50 from the other seller (her, others in the market aren't as crazy), I tell them to buy them for that price if they can find them, but I'm sorry I can't sell that low. What is strange is the fact that at least half these people are back at my booth buying at my prices. I guess if people want them for her prices they will have to buy when she has in stock, and maybe even a bit dirty. Maybe I am the Target of the flea market and she is the Kmart, I don't know I don't have time like she does to walk around and see, as unlike her I am very busy non-stop.

I'm sure at her silly prices her stuff goes fast, and they will soon be coming to me. My sales tell that story. It does aggravate me that I was the only one doing this regularly 3 years ago and now I have lots of competition. I do understand and don't begrudge anyone from getting the idea from me, or just starting to do it, but why on earth sell just to give the stuff away. It makes no sense for any of us sellers.
