Anyway, long story short, he agreed to sell it to me for the online price, while muttering under his breath about all the horrendous things he was going to do to that sales' associate. Big Grin And once he got through authorizing the price, I grinned and handed over my $20 in coupons. Wink

If you go to hot deals and search by Staples, you should be able to find any printable coupons currently available. Hope that helps!!

I recently got a Brother MFC255CW after someone told me about the cheap ink and I really like it. I got 14 cartridges (3 of each color, 5 black) for $12 shipped.

It's a printer, scanner, fax, with wireless networking so I can stick it in a cabinet or closet if I want to. You can fax without printing too if it's something on your computer. I paid $50 for it at Best Buy, but it was on sale. I think full retail is about $100.

Flu was just saying she thinks it is at Staples but only trading HP for HP. I do have the HP that just died, but I don't really want another HP, at least not like this one!

That was the deal with mine - I loved it, but I was having to buy both cartridges every 10-12 days. At $40/set, that was seriously cutting into my savings from printing coupons. Not sure why HP goes through ink so quickly, or why their ink is so much more expensive...

I just looking thru the Kohls BF ad and I am so very dissappointed. I see maybe a xmas tree at 60% off and maybe my towels might be a part of the doorbuster (but I dont see my exact one in the pile of examples), and the Bella belgian waffle maker for $9.99 after rebate

I have the Workforce 610; I can't recall if I recommended it or not but I kind of vaguely remember a discussion or two about printers.....

I did the trade-in thing back in like March I think it was at Staples and traded an older Canon (got $50 credit toward the new one) for the Epson workforce 610, which was on a pretty good sale....it ended up being around $50 when all was said and done.

You can get high and extra high capacity for the carts that last longer too. I would say that at the rate I print the color carts that came with it lasted 5-6 mos. until the first color ran out, longer for others. The black that came with it lasted maybe 3 mos. Now I get the extra high capacity black from Amazon [amazon.com] and I'd say that lasts me 4 months or so? $22.49 for that one. The 3-pack of color high capacity carts is $39.xx at Amazon [amazon.com] for all 3 colors and I will probably end up going through the equivalent of 2 per year. I buy them through there because some places don't carry the higher-capacity ones. The prices sometimes vary a bit like everything else on Amazon.

This printer is FAST and it prints VERY clear barcodes - love that - I never have a hard time with anything scanning anymore like my last printer. One word of caution....you do need to make sure you have ink on hand to replace when one color or the black runs out because I've heard that it absolutely will not print when even 1 color is out. I just make sure I buy a new one if it's running low. Even when the screen pops up that says the ink is low it lasts quite awhile after that IME.

nikayla... hope migraine is gone and you are feeling better.

we have 2 hps. they don't hog ink and work beautifully. i think the consumption really varies based on the model and the settings. i print every day, in color, and yet only change inks once every couple of months.
the key is, if yours is one of those photo printers, you really have to not only put on fast draft mode, but also adjust the ink volume output settings. the photo printers are designed to spray coat the paper with a dense layer of ink to produce saturated colors. that is obviously not necessary for a regular pc of paper and in fact will make the coupon unreadable.

eta: the staples trade in is turn in ANY printer to get $50 towards a printer 199 or more. sometimes they attach the promo to getting an HP printer, but you still can turn in any printer.

I can't wait to get a new printer- the only good thing about my Lexmark is that it's easy to link all my work computers (Mac & PC). Thank goodness for Swagbucks or I'd be out of luck on my ink!
