I really hate benefits enrollment time. UGH. They are changing several things and it's so annoying to read through it all. On top of it, it's only accessible online through DH's work website - and that's a whole 'nother animal in itself.

Can you tell I'm a wee bit frustrated this morning?? Ugh.

I need a nap.
I hate benefits enrollment time too!! DH is so clueless and never pays attention to any of this stuff...this year I have looked it over and over trying to 'get' it all. Our med. insurance went up about $30 per month this year Annoyed I have heard of others' going up more than that. I mean, it goes up a little every year but not this much usually.

Had a wonderful afternoon when I got home from work today.. Worked 12 hours yesterday and 5 today, so I was missing my DD and she was missing me too Smilie Came home and changed into sweats.. Played doll house, playdough, snuggled and watched Barney.. Then after dinner, she begged me to take a bath with her so we played in the tub for 45 minutes and just got out and made cookies. It feels like the holidays alreadybounce And, looks like it too.. DH put up the treeTeehee

We made 3 dozen cookies and the last pan, I let her roll out, smash on the pan, and sprinkle.. She used a whole thing of sprinkles, but had a blast. Hardest part was not eating any.. But I didn't. I just had a nice cup of coffee.. Love my keurigheart I had one decaf kcup that came in my variety packBig Grin

No shopping all week.. but tomorrow I am hoping for a marathon day at TRU, Target, Publix, and maybe Kroger too..
I so have to get a keurig. How can I be with the 'in crowd' if I can't mimick you all. Sigh..the difficulties in life.

Missing you guys. How is Ms. Jamie and her tooth?
Ank..how is bow wow?
Meesh..just hi
Rachael...hi and how are you feeling?
M2T..hi to you too!

And for all of you that I missed...sorry.

I was so sick yesterday. Fever, vomitting both oral and anal and just blah! Went to bed early last night and slept, slept, slept. Wanted to T today, but we shall see.

I hope I can squeeze in a little shopping in between!
I know that feeling! I have no good clothes either. DH gets upset with me because I don't buy myself anything, but we are hand to mouth and I'm sorry but the kiddo's come first.

Ank, if you let me know which ones you want, I will send you my expireds. HyVee now has a box at customer service to put them in for the military, I believe, so I have been putting mine in a bag and taking them in instead of trashing them, so just PM a list every week or two.

We drink coffee and hot tea frequently at night. I keep decaf both in the house all the time.

I'm having one of those moments... getgreen, was it you that recommended a literacy program for adults/ older readers? I tried searching and can't find it. My 8 yr old is struggling with reading, I thought the Hooked on Phonics sets would be great but no, he complains that they are for babies.
You have a PM. After I sent it, I reread this and noticed you said "he". It also isn't a girly program. I know most stuff isn't supposed to be but still sometimes seems a little girly -- this one actually seems kind of boyish with the theme being races, cars, airplanes.
Quote from meeshecat :
has anyone seen Christopher Pop in kins...
Kind of like the Elf on a Shelf. When I saw that a couple years ago, I thought it was kind of a cute idea with the little elf and the story book. But, geez, couldn't they have made a cuter elf?
Quote from meeshecat :
I like my father in law but have NO clue what to buy for them... ..then my mom I have NO clue what to get her...
How about gift baskets instead of trying to come up with one perfect gift? You could do theme baskets or not. Just pick up little things.
Quote from setsail :
Plus, I'm unsure of making popcorn, having to jiggle the pan across the ceramic cooktop.
You don't have to jiggle the pan. Just put your oil and corn in a pan with a lid and let it go. When the popping slows, pull it off the heat and let it finish popping. It won't burn.

I have an electric Jenn-Aire -- they have interchangable inserts. I have one that is a ceramic top and one that isn't. Pops on either one.

This damn stove has a deep fryer/soup-stew cooker, grill, griddle, two different cook tops, convection or radiant oven ... and I miss my antique literally 90 years old gas stove. Oh, it's still here. It's just in the basement not in use. It was the stove I used for 20+ years.

I almost ordered that $800 gas, double oven from Home Depot that I posted a while back. I looked again last night and they don't have it anymore.

Which reminds me -- I was on there because I was ordering a snow blower. HD ships them free but Menards had the same one (in store) on sale for $50 less. They wouldn't price match but if I ordered right then over the phone she could apply a 5% discount. So, if you are ordering something, you might ask. It was still $14 more than the same one at Menards -- but they shipped it to my house. I don't have to drive 60 miles each direction and then us have to try to lug it out of a mini van. Those boxes are huge.
Quote from ank220 :
Man... I feel like falling over. Frown I wonder if I ought not just skip the baby shower this afternoon and send the food/gift. I'm exhausted and kind of feeling like I want to cry.
Yes, you should skip the shower. Exhausted and feeling like crying are most definitely symptoms of being sick. I'm sure the entire shower will appreciate you not infecting them -- especially the mommy-to-be. Hope you perk up!

I really need to do something today. I could suck up some leaves and either burn them (if the winds die down) or bag and haul them to the yard waste dump. Hubby was planning to finish the fascia and soffit today but the dang phone rang and he is out on a trouble call, so that's on hold til he gets home.

I am looking for a couple of those standing folding screen things. Like this:
[amazon.com]
I'm not locked into whether it's solid wood or has the screen look like that one. I do like the ones that are photo frames but wouldn't pay extra for that kind. I saw a candle holder one somewhere that I really liked. Any idea where I can find them cheap? Hobby Lobby puts them on sale ever now and then but if I remember correctly they are still ~$80- $90 each. I will probably need two - possibly three depending on size.

We have finished most of the basement (one room left to go). The furnace and water heater are in one of the bedrooms in the corner with two solid walls. We don't want to build it in with solid walls like a closet because even with a bi-fold door across the longer side that still "traps" the other side and if the furnace needs work we might need access to that side -- or if it ever has to come out. Two sets of bifold doors wouldn't work either unless we were to put in some kind of outside corner. Plus, with the shorter ceiling they have to be cut down and it's a pain in the ass. We have already done two sets like that -- plus 3 regular doors. I think the height will be about right. It seems like most of these are about 6' tall. That particular area, because of duct work has a low ceiling. My husband is 6'2" and he can just clear it.

So, my solution is two or three screens depending on size. Stand them around it, it blocks the ugly and I kind of like them. Yes, I know I would could probably make them. But you have to understand my husband. If I decided to do that it would turn into a major project. He would beef them up, detail them and they would be gorgeous. It would also cost a small fortune and I probably wouldn't be able to move the damn things if I had to -- and I will have to to change the furnace filter.

Well, crap. Now that I have typed out all the reason I DON'T want to build them myself, I am coming up with several reasons I DO want to build them.

My freezer is stocked with about 12 of these. Hoping to get more. The sale goes on to the 20 something..correct? Anyone?
Glad baby is feeling better. Maybe a silver necklace with your son's birthstone?
Thanks for the hug..I am feeling completely yucky but 100% better then yesterday. I managed to read some and wash the floor...I'm done for today, except I need to work, but that's easy enough it's all computer stuff today.

You can come over and do some coupon clipping for me...please..with a sprinkle on top (only one sprinkle, I don't want to ruin your diet)
Bunnies clothes are well..old..but that's OK cause I'm getting stoked! We might actually be able to buy a Christmas tree this year!! Woot, woot...Rite Aid is selling them and it won't be the greatest but..it's a Christmas tree and I am thinking we might all do a craft night and make some ornaments for the tree!
I know you are all thinking...who doesn't have a Christmas tree..well we don't and have not been able to afford one. We are not on any assistance..to rich to get any..yet to poor to live..anyhoo..since couponing we have been able to eat and just barely make it. But because I have gotten better at couponing..I may be able to use my Rite Aid +Ups and get a tree!

Oh and I might add...that because of a wonderful sd'er named Jamie...a huge burden was lifted off my shoulders..my elmo machine has really been a blessing..again Jamie..thank you from the bottom of my heart!!

I found the $5 mq on coupons.com, under pet supplies. I had to clear out the cookied zip code, refresh the page, then it showed up on other computers. With no zip code entered, it should show 13 coupons for pets. And this is one of the mq that will allow you to print twice, unlike some Scrubbing Bubbles and Glade.

Not anymore. None around me but there used to be one between here and where we are from, so if we were headed for a visit it wouldn't be too out of the way to stop. Just checked and it isn't there anymore. I'll keep an eye out though if we happen to be back there, there is another store that's out of the way but doable.
