Our bulb idea was to wait 10 years after marrying to even try to have a child. Some times I think I think it was a great idea others not so great.

I worry about how old we will be by the time Grand-babies come along and how young they may be when we die. Also worry about how young our son may be when his grandparents die since we waited so long. I remember one of my grandparents dying when I was in grade school It hurt so much it still makes me cry even now typing it.

On the upside, in many ways it makes us feel younger than we are. I'm always floored when I talk to someone else my age and they are talking about one of their children getting ready to graduate from college when mine just got out of Kindergarten. It just doesn't seem humanly possible that I could have a child that old even though when I do the math I realize it is.
I understand completely. My son didn't meet my mom at all - she passed 7 years ago at the age of 49. My daughter was only 9. My father passed away in January of this year. I think about how I could have been footloose and fancy-free at 36 when my daughter graduated, and how now I'll be 50 when Wyatt leaves home...but I wouldn't change a second of it.

Not sure if that would be a problem at your T, my T would scan a handwritten coupon in.Stick Out Tongue

If anyone has a Lego fan in their house, the new T giftcards are totally adorable! I bought one for each kid and put their $5 allowances on them. I think it comes with a 31-piece Lego Target dog kit-Bullseye Smilie
Thanks! I grabbed one for ds.

Holy hell, this house stuff with my parents is ridiculous. Apparently the company that bought the house told us they would help cover moving expenses (some program they had going) if we were out 2 weeks after they gave us notice. So, it's been a month and my dad called...there's no program any longer and there's been no communication about when we need to be out. Seriously? The bank wouldn't give them THREE days to do a deed in lieu of foreclosure and now the company that has the house doens't give a crap? Ridiculous.

So now I have to pull the money for a rental truck out of mid-air apparently. And no Thanksgiving with my brother, SIL, niece and nephew down in FL now Frown
I'm sorry. hug

Looks like the Christmas pricing wars has begun. laugh out loud

Casey Carl, vice president of toys and sporting goods at Target, said, "We are doing things differently this year. We're expanding our discounts throughout the season."

Target is putting half of its 2,000 toys on sale this year, an increase of about 10% from 2009. The discounts released last week expire Nov. 24, but will be followed by other sales through the holidays.

"From everything we heard, Target was disappointed with their toy sales last Christmas and they seem to be coming out swinging harder and faster," said Eric Johnson, professor of management at Dartmouth College's Tuck School of Business.

I've still got a lot of those left too yummy Just had some yesterday. I am envisioning myself sitting on the couch on nice, cold, snowy, Dec. mornings enjoying a cup of hot chocolate and looking at the Christmas tree lights Smilie This will be my first year of not having to go to work on these kinds of mornings, just being able to stay inside and enjoy it.

Loved those Safeway mq's because they didn't have their logo on them or anything so my T. couldn't scrutinize.

Oh yikes. I hate BK. Frown Oh well.

Thanks, tn, for pushing me over 2500!! hug

And I so love the idea of putting an allowance on the Target gift card! I may have to start doing that with my two older ones. Start teaching them fiscal responsibility by letting them have a little amount to work with. Great idea!!!

And the big news for today - I had a baby niece born!!!! Baby Girly Its been funny because she would never cooperate during ultrasounds, so they weren't able to find out what they were having. Its a little scary to think of my big brawny brother being a father... Big Grin But his wife is a super sweetheart, so she'll help smooth him out. Anyway, born two weeks early and she was 9lbs 1oz!!!! Faint
Clap Congrats flug!!! That is a biiiig baby!

Me too. It feels like 35 is right around the corner too (April).
I think it is a combination of things making just feel old. Like I have a 12 1/2 y/o and I was always the 'young' mom but now I am 34 and my baby is 1 - now I'm the 'old' mom walking my 5 and 7 y/os into parent tech nights. Plus, I quit smoking almost 2 years ago and was hoping that it would cause a automatic 'face-lift' but it hasn't and it just feels like my face is sliding off, All the 5 babies have made my boobs none existent, my stomach, while it doesn't really have fat per se, it does have extra skin just there, making a weird fold in it - that is uber depressing. It has never taken this long to bounce back from having a baby = which equals me being old. Sadwalk

Another way to look at is that we will have an indentured servant longer than the rest of our peers. Evillaugh

My Dollar Tree had similarly sized plastic pig piggy banks, maybe that could prevent anthoer "ER" trip.

I can make you feel young again! Stick Out Tongue I'm 34 also (lots of '76 people in here apparently) and my oldest DS is married, owns a house, and his own business! EEK! The woman he married is only 2 years younger than me. When we went to visit this last summer, she asked if she could call me "Mom" ummm...NO! And to complicate things even more, she has a 14 year old and a 7 year old. So, the oldest is 5 years younger than my DS (who is now her step-dad) and the youngest is exactly 1 week younger than my youngest DD. My DS is stubborn though, you can not tell him anything, and if you try to tell him "not" to do something, he only does it faster. He'll either succeed greatly or fail miserably. It's just the way he is.

I had my first when I was 34 and my second when I was 35. There are definitely pros and cons. I feel lucky that I got to enjoy my 20s and part of my 30s "footloose and fancy free" but I also feel like I have much less energy now than I did when I was in my 20s. The other good thing is that all of the mom's in my kids school are about the same age as me.

Although I am not a frequent TCCer, I think I am the oldest person that posts here---I hit 58 in December. [One of these days I will act my age!]

Learned to coupon from my Dad since Mom didn't like grocery shopping. Back in the day [See, I am old!], the only coupons were for regular grocery items.
Sadly, I have you both beat. However, I'll shop with the best of 'em and hold my own!
