I bought the only rolled gauze I found, to wrap around his entire hand as they did at the urgent care clinic, and I definitely need that stretchy stuff that was used by the clinic. I'm actually a little peeved that the clinic didn't offer any supplies for the first bandage change, in case I wouldn't have a chance to get to a store to buy some. Monkey DID try to wash the bandage and thick layer of cream off his hand last night so at midnight I was at CVS, buying the gauze, tape and non-stick first aid pads.
Best suggestion I can offer to all moms is to keep a supply of Vetrap [amazon.com] on hand. It's typically used for animals, but perfectly fine for humans. It's stretchy and sticks to itself, but not other stuff....I am in heart with it (and just might have a roll in every color!)

Olay was only last week. What's the light bulb deal? I'm such a slacker shopper lately.
GE Reveal 4 Pack Lightbulbs $2.44 - $1 MQ (10-03-10 SS and 11-09-10 SS) - $1.50 TQ
EDIT: Scratch that about those two weeks being the coupon. They now do not include the plain reveal. The older coupons did. I just reread it it and it says, "Reveal CFL" they used to be something, CFL and the Reveal. I swear they did. Either that, or I have been using this coupon wrong for a long time.

Oooooo, doesn't that feel good? Ok, now, quick, how fast can you find a coupon?

I love that stuff. They used it on me at the hospital just to hold some cotton on a injection site.

Good grief, people, why did you let me go shopping yesterday? Now I have to put all this stuff away. It's in the house, lined up neatly on the kitchen counter.

Tracfone People - I got the LC 220C flip phone a while back. It is DMFL and came in a bonus pack with car charger and case. I got it on sale for $9.99 at Shopko and got a rain check to get one for my mom. I've never been in there that they had them but yesterday Wal-Mart had the same bonus pack for $19.88. Went ahead and got it, so part of her Christmas is done. She's getting Olay too.Teehee

Hummmm, is it a national chain restaurant that we don't have yet?

Wow, either everyone's sleeping in this morning or you're all out shopping!

I had grand plans of doing a final HT circuit, but Lillian is still feeling poorly. She just cannot shake this cold/cough. She had a low-grade fever Saturday for about 12 hours, but hasn't had it since. Anyway, figured it was best to let her chill out at home watching TV instead of dragging her all over creation.

Which gives me a couple solid hours to organize coupons and clean house!!

Oh, and speaking of organizing coupons - getgreen, your post with all your suggestions got me to thinking. I realized I had a rubbermaid/sterilite storage thing with three wide, semi-deep drawers that would be *perfect* for keeping all my inserts contained - what it was currently being used for was nonessential, so I repurposed it! bounce All my inserts fit in there, plus there's room for growth, so I'm excited. Now to find some flat storage boxes to put on top for all my coupon booklets, All You mags, etc.

It's a smaller, more regional chain that is no where near your area yet.

We were down there last summer (09). We did a half day canoe trip down the Neuse River with my niece and her husband. (Yes, sister of the one opening the restaurant). We will definitely be making another trip to visit them in the next year or so. Actually, depending on hubby schedule, vacation scheduling, and when he opens we may go down for that. Cuz, you know, I just love spending 20+ hours driving.

I often felt like I am the only one who went through this kind of life but it sounds like we had some similar experiences. My mom is manic depressive, so her issues are mentally and its not something you could tell by looking at her, my dad was there but worked full time and drank the rest of the time, I have one sister who was wild and always trying to escape etc. Neither my sis or my dad helped with my mom, so it was left to me.

I actually haven't talked to my parents in sometime, so many things happened when I had my daughter that I sort of cut my ties for the sake of my dd.
I am also in the exact same boat *toot toot*

People ARE weird. Glad the tooth & the heartburn are better now. That bounce house looks awesome!!

I know this sounds nuts but can you pick up a few shifts somewhere that might employ people around your age group/interest level for the holiday season? It would be a good way to meet someone and a better way to spend the weekend. hug I wish your church had a singles group. Do any of them locally? My mom used to live in Des Moines and belonged to one. She didn't go to church, nor was she Christian, but, she went anyway.

We found the piggy bank for 90% and DD was so excited...She carried it thru the store, took it with her to a restaurant and it fell from her hands just as she was getting in the car...OMG, she cried and cried and cried...kept saying bye piggy from the car window...Asked me if God or princess can fix the piggy..Cried herself to sleep....
Weeping That is the worst story. Comfort

I believe this very much. We don't have much but we somehow managed to get a pretty great old farm house (for us) and even though dh later lost his job, leaving us both unemployed, we get by on unemployment & coupons. It could be a LOT worse. Neither of us ever liked debt, so when a catastrophe happened, it didn't devastate us. Our vehicles are old and paid for, bought used. We ARE blessed, just not in the way that most people think of in terms of "blessing".

Morning everyone!! I am here with coffee in hand Wave

It does feel good to have the inserts done. My DH is very tolerant of my mess. Bless his heart, he has tried to clean our room for weeks. He just leaves my stuff piled in the corner. His side of the bedroom, his nightstand, dresser, everything looks pretty neat (although he doesn't dust, lol).. But my side had stacks and stacks of inserts, envelopes, flyers, etc.. I even found a green bag buried under the newspapers and it still had stuff in it from CVS.. a whole bag of razors and dove shampoo.Embarrassment Best thing is, while filing, I looked through most of my inserts and found some coupons I needed too. I cut lots of stuff for kroger, publix, cvs, and target. Now, I just need to print a few things, seperate into stacks and make my listwoot

Also, got my bedroom carpets cleaned with the spot cleaner machine. We had a few really bad spots where my DD has spilled something and it looked horrible. I still have alot to do, but I am so glad I made myself get some things organized. Feels greatSmilie

I think my DH stayed up all night playing video games. When I went to sleep at 3:15, he was still downstairs. When I got up with the toddler at 8:30, he was sleeping on the couch. I don't get the video game thing, and don't enjoy them too much, but that is his thing.. and I figure if that is his "hobby", then for me, it sure beats most other things I can think of.

Okay, off to make my lists! Great shopping wishes to all todayheart

Flug - sorry about the sick little one. Hope she feels better hug

Target carries this, or at least the up&up brand of it. It's in the band-aid aisle at the end with the athletic tape. They are on pegs, not with the J&J first aid tape.

Strange note: first time I saw this stuff, it was a "new" product. I was at the National Judo Center in Colorado Springs when I was 11 or 12. I was at a Judo camp for 2 weeks for the summer. They brought in this short, hairy guy (who looks like Ron Jeremy, who then I had no idea who that was). They wrapped him in the stuff, then pulled it off, to show how it doesn't stick to hair or anything else but itself.

OK, little Mommy vent here. Why do they feel the need to change beloved children's cartoons??? First Thomas, now Angelina Ballerina! Lillian was just watching the new one on Netflix, and I hate it. The beauty of Angelina is it is a soft, gentle English show, where they are normal little girls, learning normal life lessons, all while learning to dance. But this new one is just hideous. Its all CGI (I think?), the voices aren't British (they seem to be Americans trying to be British), and its all about hip hop and stuff like that. And it seems to me the actors' voices are strident and annoying, not pleasing at all.

So that's my mommy vent. Big Grin

And I have crossed 2 items off my gargantuan to-do list, so I must get busy.

I was out shopping this AM! Bleh, I need to cut and file inserts today too.

Skillet meals wiped out in the varieties I wanted, got some more cheap creamer, Honeycrisp apples were $1.69/lb. here.....what else? Oh, FiberOne bars were FINALLY in stock....at least some of them so I could use one of my rainchecks. They have been completely OUT of them for like a month, ever since they were $2 per box. Got Tag Jr. books for dd to go with her Christmas present. I think that was all for today.

Good morning Ladies!

I have a question for those who happen to have a Target Baby Registry goodie bag with them. I'm at work so I can't check mine.... Can someone tell me if the $20 off medela has an online code? I am looking for the best deal on a breastpump since I am expecting my first soon.

Any help is appreciated!!!

I have had a permit to carry concealed (and have) for 10 - 12 years. As a matter of fact, a new bill just passed this summer that goes into effect Jan 1 making Iowa a "shall issue" state instead of a "may issue state"

With the current/old law each of Iowa's 99 County Sheriffs had the say so as to whether a person would be issued a permit. They did not have to give a reason and there were/are sheriffs would refused to issue permits at all. I don't care who you are, God himself couldn't get a permit.

With the new "shall issue" law they have to give you a permit unless you don't meet the requirements and the requirements are spelled out clearly. Basically, you can't be a nut case or have a violent record. It's also going to be good for 5 years instead of 1. The sheriff does have the right to check the record of permit holders annually if they want to. Iowa will now also recognize the permits of all other states. Previously Iowa would not reciprocate with any state.
