Night peeps! Maybe tomorrow I'll get the rest of it....
Whenever I do hear of great deals going on somewhere, I jump on it. I think the only area our family suffers in is fresh produce. I get all the frozen and canned that I can handle, its just the fresh stuff we don't get a lot of. I worry about my kids suffering because of it, but then I remember myself growing up, and our "fresh" produce was apples and oranges. Literally. Sometimes bananas. Of course, my mom canned and froze alot of stuff from her garden, as well.
Anyway, all that to say that if a deal isn't pennies or a money-maker, its hard to find the time to make it there. And Giant has been sorely lacking in those areas lately.
i very rarely pay full price for anything. frozen and canned can be just as nutritious as fresh. just have to be careful of the sodium. i rinse my free libby's corn b4 cooking and i don't buy any of the frozen veggies w/ sauce unless i just want to try it.
do you have any produce stores in your area? around here they call them farmers markets but they are just giant produce stands that also sell imported groceries and cold cuts. they can be much cheaper than the supermarket.
also asian and latin supermarkets can be be fairly inexpensive for produce. don't know exactly where you are but there are h marts in fairfax, falls church and annandale. there is a great wall in falls church. lettuce, broccoli, mushrooms, peppers, onions, potatoes, garlic, apples, oranges, cantaloupe, raspberries, grapes, etc are all usually cheaper than the supermarket. i go there when there isn't much inexpensive at the supermarket. no supertarget here and expanded grocery is unreliable and not always good quality.

Ok doing the happy dance over here... just sold $440 in animal food today...now to sell a hundred or so dollars worth tomorrow... I am LOVING it!! Extra $$ for Cesar, Pedigree, Whiskas and Fancy Feast!! LUV IT!!

And slowtech, thanks for all your suggestions. I agree that the "expanded grocery" is highly unreliable when it comes to produce. I looked at their strawberries today, and half the tubs there had molded/yucky berries in them. I'll go across the street to Wegmans and pay the same price for yummy, healthy berries, thank you very much.
Nice!!! Do you sell your pet food on craigslist or where? I looked on CL and couldn't find any listed. I have lots to sell, but don't want to break any rules.

I love Wegmans, too. If money was no issue, I would shop there all the time. I love the atmosphere, the selection, the prices, everything. Compared to the other stores in our area, Wegmans is head and shoulders above the competition.
I am so excited - got my sisters lined up to watch the kiddos tomorrow night, so hubby and I are going on a date of - CIRCUIT SHOPPING!!! He was so excited when I told him ... NOT!

Thought I would ask here first...anybody have any halls bogo or extra bogo coupons? I have lots of hefty bogo to trade. I need some variety in my life!
