The local food bank here takes lens solution as there are people who can use it but can't afford the solution & that will not come from government supplies. I gave them about 50 boxes of Renu multi-purpose stuff.

They also told me that they go nuts for tampons/pads because they never get those --- but I haven't found any deals on those.

how far along are you guys with packing up the truck? was today an all-packing day?
About 1/2 way with the truck- which is kind of a miracle. Thank goodness we had a neighbor come over and help us move the downstairs fridge, washer and dryer- we couldn't bring them up the stairs, so they had to be brought up outside and up a hill. Not fun when you haven't raked the leaves!

Publix had a good deal on panty liners awhile back and I bought SO many and they were one of the most appreciated items. We take so much for granted and it always surprises me what some people are so grateful to get.

Anyone going to Kohl's tonight? I have 2 unused $5 Qs that expire tonight, they're open until midnight! PM me and I'll send you the link.

My store is trouble now, again tonight I could only use 1 Q, they said 1 per person per day. I got the story of hundreds for sale on eBay, oh well. Last night I used 3 though and it was no problem, just have to be careful. Teehee

Soooooo... I came home today to find a random box on my porch. Not my camera. Not a Gilt order. I thought it might be my SS box. But it turns out it's an ornament I had bought on ebay. But I got to thinking... are we opening SS boxes when they come? Or should we wait until a specific date?

Oh... and I ran into T today to fill a Rx. Saw my super Jedi. Dug around in my purse for my secret-emergency-shenanigans-envie. Left happy. Roll

I've gotten every single size they sell, and never gotten a strange look. Usually because there's such a pile, they just want to get them all scanned and me outta their line!! Big Grin

So ... party went great tonight. Just family, no friends, but that's enough people, anyway. nod Chuck E Cheese was insane. We've been on a Sat night before, but I've never seen it this crazy. No big deal, I don't mind the noise/crowds, as long as the kids are having fun.

I'm attaching a picture of the cake I made. I thought it turned out well, despite me having zero experience doing anything like this. I so heart the interwebz, that give such detailed instructions, even a turtle could do this!!

the seller always has an option whether to cancel someone's bid/purchase or not. if the seller refuses and the auction is still ongoing all you can do is hope someone else will bid. but other than that, ebay/paypal will not just give you a refund because someone else's item was priced lower and you found that later. they consider a bid a binding contract, so unfortunately, unless i am misunderstanding the circumstances, you are out of luck with ebay/paypal.

however, if the item is still ongoing, with a decent amount of time left in the auction, and you realized you mistakenly bid the wrong price or such, you can retract your bid. there are 3 or 4 different reasons for which you can legitimately retract your bid. can't remember if wrong item is one of them.

also, if you receive the item, and it is not as described, or if the item didn't ship on time, you can ask for a full refund and return/decline the item.

but other than those instances, your best bet is to communicate with the seller again, in the nicest way, and see if you can negotiate something.

good luck and sorry you're having to go through this!
My ADD was kicking in, I totally went here to there and left out the middle. I bid on 2 and won, the one I paid for has not sent it to me, I think he scammed me and seller #2 that I didn't pay says he wont cancel cause he will get charged then I look and see he is realtivly new so IDK. But will I get my money back for the one I paid for and didnt recieve?

She did love it! When she saw the finished product, she just kept staring at it. laugh out loud I let her help a little with making the fondant (stirring the marshmallows, etc.) so she was looking forward to eating that the most.

And surprisingly, it tasted pretty good, too, even the fondant. It was a fun experience, and I would totally do it again. Actually, I'm pretty sure I won't have a choice, because baby sister Eva loved it too, and her birthday is coming up in 2 weeks...

Speaking of Kohl's, I've been lurking in the Kohl's thread tonight to see if I can find deals for my KC.....well, there's currently a little spat going (someone's been "stealing" deals and posting them in HD) and then someone brought up previous T thread spats, and then someone else throws in "Target has a underground group for coupons now Kohls..shake head I miss the good old days"..... oh my....guess holiday shopping makes everyone a little uptight.

Speaking of being uptight, what's everyone drinking tonight? I'm switching it up with Sam Adam's Light, instead of my usual vodka and juicy juice Wink

The fondant was fairly easy, at least easier than I was expecting it to be. I used a marshmallow fondant recipe that I found online. The hardest parts were kneading the color into it (took about 15-20 mins of kneading to get an even shade throughout) and then rolling it out. It kept sticking to the table, despite copious amounts of cornstarch coating my table. But other than that, it was fun. If you go to coolest-birthday-cakes.com, and search for princess cakes, they have tons of pictures, and many of them give pointers on what worked for them. Very helpful to me. I let my daughter look through all the pictures, and she settled most definitively on Cinderella. So I just basically tried to replicate the one she loved. nod
