I can't wait to be in FL next month where there are lots of STs. I will probably never shop anywhere else...well, maybe Publix
G'morning.
L2BAM/Laina: I too feel like a cheapskate when I read what SS sent you! I didn't have much (anything) to go on...I hope I have the chance to redeem myself next year!
I think it's harder to pick gifts the older the kids are. Oldest niece needed $$ for a ski trip, so she's getting (actually already got) Christmas money from me. 2nd oldest is the one that plays college BB and last year she wanted gift cards at 3 different places because she had lost 35 lbs her freshman year in college and nothing fit. Don't know what she wants this year (I basically told them to figure it out, or she will have nothing from me). Oldest nephew and his wife want a queen size bed (not mattress and boxsprings) but just the bed, but they won't go and look for anything and to me a piece of furniture is a very specific thing and will be there for years, so I don't want to pick out something they would hate. The younger ones are much easier to please IMO.

Went to ST last night. Roads were dry when I went in and when I left less than an hour later freezing rain, sleet turning to snow covered them. It was 25 mph all the way home. Cashier was a cute new team member, turns out he was covering another team member's break. Other team member came back they logged out and in and he finished scanning my order then we played slapjack with coupons.
I'm in the pediatrician's office with DS. Ear infection I think. He is sooooo sick
Congrats on the new grandbaby Teri!!!
Thanks for the site M2C! I'm all about healthy but easy crockpot ideas!
Alright peeps, I'm

Would have wished you well yesterday, but I was at the hospital welcoming my perfectly beautiful granddaughter into the world. She came at 6:40 pm after a very long day for mom. She weighed in at 7 lbs 5 oz and 20.5 in.
sooo cold here this morning and the heater still not fixed. Good news is home warranty is replacing it, bad news is I don't know when
Off to shower and go to the hospital, let the spoiling begin
My neice had her baby this morning. They haven't named her yet, she weighs 7lbs 3oz and was 20 1/4 inches. Here's her pic:
Both moms are at the same hospital, so visiting will be easy
I however, fell down my stairs this morning and I think I broke something, like my big toe
Tootsie --- hope your ds is feeling better soon!
Flug, Thrift --- hope the weather lets up soon. We got around 4ish in. last night, finally enough for dh to use the new snow blower and for dd to go play in it
TN --- just send your nephew and his wife the link in my siggy and buy them a couple nice tools and tell 'em they can thank you later for saving 'em all that money
good news: my neice had the baby and they're doing good.
bad news: I fell down the stairs and can't walk to get down there.
good news: My toe isn't broke.
bad news: My toenail ripped off and hurts like h, e double L.
good news: i have 9 other toenails.
bad news: It looks like Charles Manson came in my house with all the blood from the fall.
good news: I have plenty of Swiffer products
bad news: my heater is still broke and I'm cold.
good news: home warranty people called and are buying a new one.
bad news: I have to pay 1,000 bucks extra for duct work and gas line modifications.
good news: It could have cost more and I am getting a new unit.
bad news: They have to order it and it may take a couple of weeks.
good news: two new healthy babies in the family this week, what more could you ask for
Do you have a space heater? At our last place, everything was kind of open and drafty. We put sheets up between the main room and the rest of the house. We would run the space heater in that room (since it was the one we spent most of the day in), and then in the bedrooms at night. At any rate - it made it nice and toasty in those rooms. The rest of the house was cold (and it looked a little ghetto), but it did okay by us with that. Also, I would bake bread in the mornings and often make dinner first thing to help warm up the place a little.
Congratulations & I hope you feel better and don't have to hobble around too long.

I wasn't expecting to pay out a thousand bucks at Christmas, but I did know going in to buying the house that the heat and AC were old and needed replacing. i'm just glad I have the home warranty because what is costing a thousand would have cost about 10,000 without it. So I'm considering myself blessed at this point.
You all are talking about wrapping. I haven't wrapped one thing yet, and I don't want to do it, but I have to. ugh.
