Anyone got a good peanut butter fudge recipe? I'm asking y'all, bc I made the caramel apple pie, white chocolate cheesecake, & apple dumplings & they were all GOOD. Really good. So I can trust y'all. Smilie My boys are begging for Christmas candy, & I'm ashamed to say I haven't made any yet. I'm overwhelmingly behind.

This is a sugar fudge recipe. It isn't real grainy or hard but it is a little firmer than a marshmallow fudge. But its quick and easy. Grease a regular size dinner plate or a square 8 x 8 pan with butter.

2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup milk

Stir together and cook at a rolling boil until it hits soft ball stage. You can determine this by using a candy thermometer or a cup of cold water. It will stick to the spoon and be kind of a thick syrup. Drip a few drops off your spoon into a cup cold water. If you can roll it up in a ball and pick it up, it's ready.

Once you hit soft ball stage -- work quickly and:
Stir in a tablespoon or so of butter, a little vanilla, and a glob of peanut butter -- about 1/3 - 1/2 cup. Mix it in quickly. Move pan to a sink full of cold water and submerse the bottom of the pan, stir until it starts to cool and set up. QUICKLY poor onto your plate or pan. Often it will start to set up and you can skip the sink part.

I have always done it by feel and cold water but I did try it using a candy thermometer a while back and "soft ball" does set up right.

If it's the Kohls 30% code you need, the code is "giftgiving" and I just tell them at the register I received the code on my mailer but didn't want to lug it around so I just wrote down the 30% off code. Has worked everytime for me Dontknow

getgreen - sorry to hear about your accident! hug Hope you can get healed up enough in time for Christmas Pray

GT - dang that sounds good! I'm kind of mesmerized by the candy thermometer after doing the caramels....I used that combined with the ice water method when making the caramels, worked great. Your recipe almost sounds like a cross between caramel and fudge!! drool Can't go wrong there.

Went out shopping for just a little bit this AM with my mom.....just couldn't stand the crowds and we ended up at Olive Garden for lunch Teehee Oh my poor diet laugh out loud Haven't gained anything this week but haven't lost anything either.....oh well, the baking and fun stuff has been more than worth it.

Yep, I was asking you -- or any one else with any info. Hippos expired the 10th, alrighty then, I can finally quit searching for it. No, Kohl's card.

Still not sure if we are going to go out of town or not. We could probably get more for less money but you do have to factor in gas and time. And the possibility that I may kill someone now that the stores are getting busy. In our little area -- not busy, no crowds = I probably won't go off the deep end. So, in that weird sort of way -- I'm almost sort of hoping it isn't worth my while to leave town. I wouldn't mind figuring out some KMart deals though.
Typo... hippos expire 12-19

This should redeem me Hippos 12-5 ss, there are four games listed on the q

I think my daughter is in about the same situation you are. She found out that a coworker may not be able to do Santa for her two -- a 9 yo girl and 5 yo boy. I don't know if we are going out of town where there are real stores and rounding up some stuff or if she is going into town to the dollarish store.

There is the Hallmark coupon -- I haven't been and looked but I would think there would maybe be book or two that would be appropriate.

I have a bunch of hot wheels for the boy. Odds and ends like nail polish and little digital camera for the little girl. (I only have pink or he could have one too).

So, have you come up with any deals yet? I need more info about the KMart coupon too. Is it ok to use, are there restrictions. etc.? I figure if not, then maybe we could each use it once. I do have a KMart locally. (KMart, Dollar General, and a dollar type store are all we have without driving over an hour)

If we go out of town -- are the Kohls coupons still instant print? Is there stuff that would be a buck or two or free after coupon?

Other printables -- I think I missed the boat on those. Are the Hungry Hippos coupons done and gone?

Geez, where did everybody go?

When you sign up for the KMart birthday club how long does it take before they send out the $5 coupon? I signed up today and used today as the birthday.
I have used the Kmart coupon, though it beeped, no issues on three visits (used 10 in total). Sent you the pdf. Hope it helps you.

anyone else Wink

Also one more deal post in commonsensewithmoney for ubuild connect and monoploy board games, free or $2 depending on the coupon you print or the tearpad you find at walmart, i have both printed coupon and tearpad (3 each for both) from yesterday's visit. So going to wallyworld now. Let me report tonight Smilie

Merry Christmas tn. Your friend has a great friend. Wink Anything you will be shopping for that is for you? You are always doing for others.
I bought 16 lbs of Dunkin Donuts coffee for stockings today, but after my brother told me that they go thru 2 lbs every 4 days OMG it won't last long.

I'm still sort of looking for a TV. I was gonna buy 2 (one for me, one for my brother's family) so that he could help me out if I run into technical difficulties, but I really haven't looked for one, except at Black Friday, which I had no chance at. I really don't buy for myself this time of year, with 11 in the SILs family, there is always a need there.
I guess it's kind of ironic that I bought myself a Sony BluRay player (wags deal, paid mostly with RRs), as I don't have an updated TV that can even use it, as my TV takes one input. . . the cable and has a power cord and is older than some of you posters here.

You are sweet to say that HDD.

I thought I'd ask in here since the Target thread is the only place I seem to go anymore. ;-)

My organization skills stink. They are beyond bad.

Basically, I want to start keeping tabs on how much in coupons I am redeeming. It's part curiosity, part wanting to show off (lol). I have a lot of naysayers who don't think it's "worth" it and I'd just love to give them a big, fat dollar amount.

Does anyone have a program that use or maybe a sample spreadsheet?

I was thinking of dividing out into MQs, TQs (since I use so many!) and maybe showing doubles from my local market. Although it might be easiest to just lump them all together?

Thoughts? Am I the only one who thinks about these things? I think it would just be interesting to see.

We got our Blu-Ray first too Teehee Then I stalked Target every Monday for electronics markdowns until I found a TV to go with it. Ended up with a 46" Sony for about $450, and that was 50% off of the original price. It is a very nice TV and we have been super happy with it. I have been known to buy the opposite thing first if I find a good enough deal....makes sense if you know you might purchase when the opportunity presents itself Smilie

I will never ever ever ever plan to shop on this weekend-before-Christmas again. It was CRAZY nuts here and people are so rude and in a hurry.

.I can't help you with a spread sheet or anything but I once wanted to track my fast food expenses (cause it is A LOT!) and just kept the receipts in one of those ;ittle coupon file envies but it filled up so fast I had to count it every other month.

But you could just have them ring you up hit subtotal - write it down then give the Qs and subtract taht total from the preQ and do the math for the %

Tiva --- I like to do that kind of stuff just out of curiosity, so you are definitely not the only one shake head I just like math and numbers, ha! Yeah, what's wrong with me?! laugh out loud Anyway, first of all I'd have a good system of saving your receipts, then maybe once a week or so go through and add up all of the coupon savings?? You could keep a plain 'ol spreadsheet or a Word document or really anything....I'm sure there is some way to set up a spreadsheet where you could just list the amounts/items whatever and it would total them for you though I don't use spreadsheets much myself. Half the fun for me is punching numbers into the calculator Teehee

I had an aunt who kept track of how much she saved with coupons by putting the exact amount of money of the coupons she used into a jar and that was her family's vacation fund for the year. Probably not realistic with how much some of us save but something similar would be fun too....then you would be able to tell your friends that you saved so much using coupons that you were able to do ________ or buy ____________. Ya know?

Whatever works for ya basically Smilie
