Hey all. Just popping in to say hi and hope you all are having a great holiday week. I've been staying with DD this week. The baby is so very wonderful. Kudos to all the great moms here in TCC. I've always thought that the women in this thread were some of the best people and mothers anywhere.

I've thought about you all this week as I've helped Em with lil Ellie. I had almost forgot how exhausting taking care of newborns was, and I admire each and every one of you for the way you take care of your families and still manage to find ways to save money and provide for your families.

Today is Em's birthday so I gave her the present of babysitting while she sleeps in and I'm loving every minute of it heart But I hear Ellie stirring so I'm going to go heat some milk that mommy pumped and feed my beautiful little granddaughter.

So happy for you!! Little ones are so precious. My brother and his wife just had their baby right before Thanksgiving, and I had forgotten (even though my youngest is only 2!) how precious those newborns are. Enjoy every moment!

My other brother, who lives in OH, was here this week for his job, so he brought his three oldest kids with him, so they could spend time with their aunts and uncles and cousins. Its been lots of fun, even though its cut back my planned shopping. They all slept over last night at my house, and I actually got to sleep in until 8:00!! Woohoo! I was expecting to be awakened at the crack of dawn by two excited little 5-yo boys, but didn't happen. I think we've worn them out. Big Grin

They go home this afternoon for Christmas at their house, and then come back on Sunday for some more fun. I'm looking forward to the break, but I am so glad our kids got to spend time with them. Cousin time is awesome time. nod

OK, off to look at my list and see what else I have to buy. Oh, and brew me some coffee. Some of that yummy lishious caramel vanilla cream that my SS sent me!!!!

Well.. why would you wrap THAT LMAO Flush it down!
Ya gotta give the perfect gift and there's always that one family member....

Let's see. The little dog barfed on the floor first thing this morning. vomit I hope that isn't an indication of how the day is going to go! Really, couldn't she have at least waited until I had had ONE cup of coffee?

Hubby had to taste test the truffles this morning. He said the white covered cappuccino was really good. I tried the coffee and and it was yummy. The orange was too strong. That didn't come as a surprise to me, when I tasted the filling while I was making them, I thought the same thing. Was hoping it would mellow a little. Funny thing is, the recipe I followed was for orange and I followed it exactly. The other two flavors were just digging around the cupboard making stuff up trials. Now I want to make more and I keep thinking, "oo, I have black cheery all fruit, I could try that! Oh, I have...."

He took today off (he has a couple vacation days he needs to use before 12/31). His hearing aid had to be sent in and it's back so I think we are going to drive over (1 hour+ each way) and pick it up. Whoopee. Nothing there except a Wal-Mart and I can't think of a dang thing I need.

Now, if you still have stuff to wrap, put down the computer and get to it. Time is running out!Whip

How can such a little creature create such a huge stink???

And is it bad that I'm considering sneaking her back into her crib, sliding into bed, and asking DH to check on her??
I may or may not have done just that a time or two (or 100) Whistling

So I had to take a pregnancy test tonight as per OB's orders to make sure it's negative. It is. So sad. Amazing how in just a couple of weeks things can go from happy excited to sad and gloomy.

Where is meshee?

Yes. And the worst is a McDs commercial with some grumpy ass man refusing to talk to anyone until he's had his coffee. I'd give him a cup of coffee right down his boxers for acting like that Annoyed

Morning everyone!

We are having lunch with Santa today and we woke up to a blanket of snow covering everything outside! :whee

We found out yesterday that DS is an awesome sledder! He runs and jumps belly first onto the sled and goes down the hill by himself...he has even learned how to shift his body to steer. So fun. Hope to get outside later if the temps get above 30 degrees.

Have a great day everyone! :
Sheer AWESOMENESS and I'm so jealous!!!!!!! That sounds so amazing Smilie

Wow, sounds like a nice TV. Nice size!

A friend was getting one for his MIL the other day and found one at KMart. He is a Sony fan and found a nice 40" 1080p LCD for $584.99. We will never have another Sony product if DH has his way because of their 6 months warranty. Several years ago we bought a Sony TV and it died at 7 months.

We have had a Samsung for 3 years and have not had a single problem with it. We also have a 42" Panasonic Plasma. We had costly repairs on it last year and have had it 3 years also. Great picture but is a lot heavier than a LCD and does put out some heat.
We had the opposite experience! We will never own another Samsung and our Sony is going strong. I did get a 3 yr Squaretrade warranty though, just in case Wink
Quote from love2beeamom :
I *may* have done that before

So sorry

Yep, that is what I told DH.. It is Christmas time, and people are giving gifts.. So, a gift receipt is not uncommon.. I just found it interesting that my DH picked up on the fact of huge order + lots of large value coupons = potential for return for full credit. I know people in deals have mentioned seeing it before in their stores.. but honestly, I rarely see another couponer here, and hardly see anyone returning alot of items either
Cashier found it totally amazing and cool at the number of coupons.. Wish I had known that before I got in line behind her laugh out loud I could have used a few more

Yay for buying you a TV.. You deserve it!

I didn't get much sleep. DH kept me up snoring last night.. he must have been really tired.. Went to sleep around 3, and my toddler had me up at 6:30.. She hasn't sleep a full night in over a week.. But, the Keurig is going and I am having me a wonderful cup of vanilla coffee (thanks Rachel) with some SF caramel syrup (thanks tootsie for the torani info)Gonna head out soon and hopefully get by target. I need some bakeware:cool
I completely missed the bakeware deal *sigh*
and you are welcome for the syrup trick! I just had vanilla in mine...yummo!!!

Yawn

morning. . .

Today is officially buy 2 TVs day. I've decided the fam in TN needs a big screen TV and I'm buying one for myself too (same model). This way, if I run into technical difficulties, someone that I know on the end of the phone can help me.

If you are curious, I'm buying the Samsung 670 46" that's in the Best Buy ad. Definitely NOT a Slick Deal, but at this point, I don't care and they just need to get bought.
Yay on the LCD! We have had our 52" Samsung for about 3 years now and LOVE it!!!

I was poking around and saw that T has a 46" Samsung LCD 1080p for $804 on TPC...however it is only 60 Hz versus the 120 Hz at Best Buy.

Quote :
HZ is Hertz and the 120 is a much better picture then the 60. 120 doubles the vertical frequency which gives you a much clearer picture.
Quote :
Refresh rate, how many times the picture changes per second.
Some LCD TV's implement a higher refresh rate because it takes longer for each individual pixel to change color (aka slower response time), so the higher refresh rate will help reduce this, as a slower response time can cause blurring of fast motion. This is a pretty much a non-issue with CRT, DLP projection, and Plasma TV's as they all have very fast response times, unlike LCD TV's.
It's up to you to decide whether you think it's worth it, after watching the same fast-motion video clip or what not on two TV's side-by-side, one with 120 Hz refresh rate and one with 60 Hz.
The SDer in me says T but the techie geek in me says Best Buy. You will LOVE the Samsung. They make a great product!

Have one last big gift to get Mini...a new cell phone. T now has contract carrier phones in store and they have the HTC Evo 4G on sale for $99 with eligible upgrade (which we are due). I already asked and they don't take T GCs but they do (recently) take Redcards as it is a separate entity selling cell phones in T. Methinks I'll try a Visa GC. laugh out loud

Oh and I decided on what I'm going to get J...this [target.com]. The speakers on our current system have been crackling lately and it is time for an upgrade.

Now, I just gotta get Mini Thrift out of bed so she can babysit. I pay her in iTunes and Toblerones. Roll

You're right, the Suave shampoo/conditioner is a 992, coded 76, but the deodorant is not 992, and is coded 33. Hmmm...must do some more testing...

I must agree.. for me anyway, that update came along with the JMS death..

But, I must say.. I do love the last update that allows MQ to sail through for more than product amount.. nice.. Kinda like KM, but without the dirtWink

Thomas the Tank Engine peeps: anybody have the Wooden Railway stuff for their kids ---- or the wooden tracks at least??? I bought some Circo wooden tracks during the July toy clearance (when I had no clue that there were different types of the Thomas stuff.) Now dd has mostly Trackmaster and some Take 'n Play. Will the Trackmaster or Take 'n Play trains 'fit' on and 'roll'/run correctly on the Circo wooden tracks?? Or are they not compatible? Worst case I can just wait and see when we open them but thought I'd see if anyone knew.

The 60 hz refresh was the one thing that made me not want to buy the one we bought too.....but we do NOT watch much high-action stuff or sports - things that it would make a bigger difference on. So glad I did not let that completely deter me because I rarely even think about it having the lower refresh rate now and have never noticed any blurring or anything - even particularly watched for it after we brought it home and it has not been a problem.

That looks like an awesome soundbar.....we have been looking into those since our sound system is quite old, is an off-brand, the remote is lost (brand won't work with universal remotes), etc. It works OK though so hoping to wait until I find one a bit cheaper Big Grin
