Happy Christmas Eve! DSIL is back in town and I'm home now, missing that little angel sooo much but glad to be in my own bed!!!

Hope you all have all your gifts wrapped and have a wonderful wonderful day.

I'm seeing posts all over the place, here and FB about cookie sheets and whatnot, and I have to say I've been MIA so much I have no clue what the deal is.

I'm off to get a shower and start getting ready for the day.

:wave5: Hey guys, we are back form our H2Opark to GWL trip. We had lottas a fun! We went to the Charlotte Motorspeedway where they have the largest Xmas light display, It was great to sit in the car with all the kids on our laps and hanging out the window gawking and lauhing. Then once the trail of lights was over you got to drive on the actual racetrack - ya know, the one that is at a 45% incline/slant. My DH was driving all whiteknuckled and yodalling like a cowboy, DS#2 was screaming WaHoo with his hands in the air in the back row middle seat while DD#3 is crying with her head n her lap, and I almost broke the 'Oh shit bar' off the new car. He got it up to 85mph ion the short little area we got to ride.

Then we went to Ikea, which used to be one of my fave places but only found a couple things I might have even wanted. We had dinner at GWL it was $100 + tip and AWFUL! But the kids had a great time playing. I would not recommend the Charlotte GWL. It is tiny compared to the Poconos PA GWL.

I think I might have to go out today, I got the $10/20 while on Vacay and still need to get to RA, they don't have ANY in Charlotte & I had a B.U.G. runat the T there. They figgin ladies yanked the coupons out of my oldests hand while my back was turned loading the belt and fugged eberything up and changed all my ottos. :p
Hey... sorry about the bug run... thanks so much for the Cruncher tq again... used it a couple days ago... it was awesome.. Sending many HUGS!!

Happy Christmas Eve! Our tree is up and looking rather sad, but, but, but..we have a tree!!!
Presents are mostly wrapped. Stocking are hung. They will remain empty, but, but, but we got presents for the kids, so all is well.

We got PS3 with 7 games!
4 Movies (Toy Story 3, Shrek ever after, Iron Man comic thingy)
Operation
Connect 4
Shirts for the kids
Jammies for the kids
T-Rex, he is this huge dinosaur that interacts with the owner.
Tag system with 12 books
Make-up
Blow Dryer
Iron thingy for hair
Perfume
Socks
The hamster thingy creatures (10 of these)
Hot wheels cars and 2 race tracks set. (Very nice ones)
Remote controlled cars
Tons of other things, I forget now because they are wrapped.

Got up early to make stuffed shells.
Cleaned the house earlier this week.

I think that's it! Oh and, and, and...DH got me a present! I'm looking at it now sitting under the tree. I'm trying really hard not to open it, peak, untape, retape, etc. Plus I got my SS gift.

I'm just so happy that this year we got the kids stuff. Last year we had literally nothing. The kids deserve a Christmas.

Hope everyone is well.

Please remember Greenie in your prayers.

Jamie, wanted to say thank you again for Elmo!! He is doing great! Your gift has meant the world to us!!

Have you tried using Guittard brand
No, I haven't. I will have to see if anyone around here carries them. All I remember seeing was Nestle's and a store brand but that doesn't mean I didn't miss them. Thanks.

I have used Hershey's most recently for white chips.
I didn't know Hershey's made white. I'm pretty sure I looked at Hy-Vee. I will have to look elsewhere. I have used white in the past just fine. Maybe it's just Nestle. Wish I had another kind on hand to try just to know.

Actually with white chocolate, you don't want it above 80 degress and try cocoa butter to thin it if you have any, should help, or you could do a little cream.
I didn't realize it had to be a lower heat. Maybe that is my problem. I am using a double boiler (glass pyrex bowl that suspends with the bottom in a pan of water). Cream won't work -- it seizes just like chocolate does. Any liquid = POOF grainy ickiness. I figured it would, but I was desperate so I tried it anyway.
Quote from gatorcater :
Has anyone used the Rosetta Stone software before? .
I haven't used it. I used to see it frequently on home schooling buy and sell boards. You might check some of those. My favorite was always Vegsource [vegsource.com]. It's been too long for me to recommend any other places to look. Maybe some of the other hsers here can.
Quote from setsail :
I had some of a previous version of the Calphalon cake pans and I like them. I like the covered ones A LOT.
Not that this much to do with anything but I have a glass Pyrex cake pan with the plastic snap on lid. I love it. If I were buying new cakes pan that would definitely be it. I've had it for many years and the plastic lid is still soft with no cracks or warping. I also have the smaller 7 x 11 (?) size.

But ... she was short a DOLLAR!!
That was very nice of you. I'm a little surprised you didn't start doing a match up and whipping out coupons. That would have been much more amusing!

Also, I need to make a hashbrown casserole
Is that the one with sour cream, soup, butter, cheese, and frozen hash browns? Mmmmmm, I love that. droolExcept we don't call it that.... we call it snotty potatoes. Big Grin

Morning, everyone! Wave Gotta get started on my orange crescent rolls. I'm cheating this year - using good ol' Pillsbury instead of making my own.
That is not cheating. It's simply a different recipe. I love those too, they are my favorite. I bought a couple cans specifically for this weekend. We will have the turnovers tomorrow (as per tradition -- that is apparently hysterical). But, yes, I think some orange with my coffee this morning would be perfect.

We are supposed to get another 7" of snow starting last night through later today. It's been coming down and is still falling. Looks like we are definitely on track for the full amount.

Have a wonderful Christmas Eve day!

I used nestle white morsels in TN's cheesecake and melted it on low heat in a double boiler Smilie It seemed to want to scorch way easier than regular chocolate so be careful! I killed the first batch. thank goodness I had bought 2 bags EEK!

Yeah, I should have! I know I probably had some game coupons in my purse. Teehee That would've definitely been funnier!!

And thank you for validating my cheating. Big Grin They were delish. And super easy. Just make a simple orange caramel syrup, and then slice the rolls of crescent dough straight out of the package. Put them in a greased pan, pour the syrup over, then bake. Delish!!

I have had great success melting my white chips in the microwave, 50% power, 30 seconds to a minute at a time. Takes several minutes, but I only do it segments at a time, stirring after each one. Never burned it yet. shake head :crossingmyfingers: :knockingonwood:

I am a genius! I know you gals already know this about me, but I never miss an opportunity to remind you all. Anyway, I was looking at the PS3 games and wondering how I could wrap them so that you can't tell it's a game. Well, I decided...I will take the sleeves off of old movies (like spiderman, shrek, etc) and slide the game inside the sleeve. Now it looks like it's a movie. And tomorrow I am going to hear...we already have this! I will do my amazing role playing and say oh-no, really?! We do not!!

Oh how evil am I?

As I posted before, low and slow on the melting of chips (any kind) and yes, I do it in the microwave as well, just like flugette. Quality ingredients mean quality results yummy

HDD, it will not look done after 30 minutes worth of baking, but pull it out of the oven anyway.

I fell asleep while it was cooling on the counter last night, and moved it to the refrigerator this morning about 2. Then I couldn't go back to sleep, so I saw the first of the news at 5:00 and then crawled back into bed. Was sleeping like a rock until my brother called and woke me up (third time lately that he's done that). Yeah, I don't think I'll make it for lunch in TN today. Haven't showered, haven't wrapped the one gift that I could wrap, haven't packed the car (which I really need to do BEFORE I shower). Oh well, I'll just be snowed in with the rest of the dysfunctional family in TN later tonight.

Wave Hi Sharon!! hug

Merry Christmas Eve. I guess my boys don't realize that your supposed to be good & nice today. Very.Trying.Morning.

Making the chicken tortilla soup with fresh homemade bread. DH and I are probably the only ones that will eat it..so that's enough for tonight. I am so happy that all of our side dishes for tomorrow will be made by the wonderful cooks at DH's restaurant. Saves a lot of time & cleaning!

Made it to T this morning. Saw my coupon hating LOD watching the registers. I guess she was feeling joyous...she didn't even come over to supervise woot
