laugh out loud I was NOT a good girl for the week or so surrounding Christmas, I just haven't eaten nearly as much over the past few days because of the reflux. Otherwise I'm certain I would have gained a few!! Overall though I did lose between Thanksgiving and Christmas so I guess I must have been kinda sorta OK good but I am looking forward to New Years being done so there's less temptation. What do you guys think about coming up with a word for the new year?. I know a lot of us get annoyed by new year's resolutions, but I like having a single word to focus on for the new year. My word is Simplify. That means getting tons of stuff to the Goodwill, giving away what I can, selling what little I can, and just focusing on my family more. I want empty spaces on shelves so I can have room for necessities. Both literally and figuratively (meaning I need space in my brain laugh out loud)

Actually, I ALMOST got a Keurig. Got all excited when Office Depot had 100% rewards on the k-cups. I wanted to start drinking coffee so I could get it free!

I will be needing large amounts of hot tea later today. I'm waking up with coffee now. It's supposed to get above freezing today -- near 35. So I am going to go out and see if I can get some of the big Christmas decorations out of my yard. The tiedowns will be under the snow until it melts and the ground thaws. I guess I will back the van out of the garage and set them all up in there to melt off and dry, possibly with the help of a space heater and a fan or two. I don't know what else to do. I can't pack them up damp and I am not bringing them in the house on my new carpet. (Last year I brought them right on in the living room for a couple days)

me too. too much food around! I did lose 5lbs between Thanksgiving and Christmas but I'm sure it went right back up after this past weekend. You know the dressing is good when it leaves a butter ring on your plate after you've eaten it Doh

I suspect we'll be doing an impromptu new years eve thing with our friends, so I want to be more prepared than the day of with DH going "oh yeah, we'll be having 10 people over tonight..." laugh out loud

I keep having a lot of pain on my left side. It hurts so bad I want to cry. The muscles are so tender that they hurt when I try to rub them. It seems like it is getting worse. I have been trying not to carry the baby, my purse, the diaper bag, or anything of weight in that arm. It hurts down the side of my neck, down around my shoulder blade, under my armpit, and all the way down my arm. My joints (shoulder, elbow, wrist) have the sharpest pain points. Nothing seems to help (well, pain pills ease it a bit, but it's still very much there.) It gets worse if I sleep on that side or lean on my arm. I can't tell if my neck is starting it, or if it makes my neck muscles tight because of the pain down my arm. I've had this for a while, and I think it's muscular since my muscles are so tender.

Any suggestions? Would I go to my regular doc to get checked out?

This sounds like my birthday & anniversary every year and Christmas this year. Fa la la la la.

So sorry about that - wish it was different. Happy birthday from us anyway. Glad your nephew is progressing but sounds like it's still a serious situation. ((hugs))

good trip but i already caught a bug when i was there. beautiful hotel but every time i entered the room i would get completely congested which lead to postnasal drip which lead to dry cough. since i was snowbound, spent all day monday catching up in this thread and miraculously i felt better at the end of the day. then i totally vegged yesterday also.

you have to post your pork roast and kraut recipe again. i didn't copy and save it last time and i want to try it when my freezer is not stuffed to the brim.

off to ikea clearance sale w/ bff who has cabin fever!

I had something similar when DS was a baby and grew realllllly fast. Turns out, it was a disc in my neck-two actually. I ended up getting shots in my neck, physical therapy, etc. but still deal with it. It makes my muscles incredibly tender and I even lost strength in my left hand. At it's worst, I dropped a jar of jelly onto the floor because my grip in that hand just left suddenly Frown I still have nerve damage in my hand and it feels like it's burning especially if I lift thing (ie: heavy baby.....uh hum...)

Ugh... I have noticed less strength in my arm too. Who did you go to when you got checked out? Your regular doc, or is there a specialist or something? I hate the idea of more docs & bills, but this is just so painful!
