and i copied what i wrote just in case the thread got deleted so i might as well put it here too-
:confused2:
i'm thinking maybe i live in the wrong part of the country? how do people buy cartfuls of RR deals??? the one time i tried to get on the walgreens RR bandwagon, the store limited me to redeeming one RR per transaction. it would have taken an hour or more to check out a cart full of stuff. if they even let me buy that much which i highly doubt. so i don't wag b/c it's just not worth the time or effort. only go there for back to school and maybe xmas clearance.
most of the stores around here limit purchases somehow. the supermarkets limit the best sale items to 4 per variety and they can limit you to 4 like coupons per day if they feel like it and one of them does routinely. cvs ecb deals usually have a limit between 1-5 and sure, you can have multiple cards, so to combat that they put super sticky stickers on the high value products that have the store number and corporate phone number to call if you find the product for resale b/c they do not like people reselling.
b/c i'm in a coupon doubling area, few couponers go to walmart and they have pages of fraudulent coupons taped to the cash register area that they flip thru to check your ip coupons. and if the coupon is for more than the amt of the item, about half the time they will reject it.
in the 3.5 yrs i've been reading shopping forums i haven't read any reports of shelf clearers in my area. and if somehow there was a great deal and the store somehow didn't already impose a limit and you grabbed more than a reasonable amt, say 6-12, depending on how much was on the shelf, it's considered extremely rude around here to have so many of one item in your cart and not leave any for other shoppers.
so i don't understand just how the mgrs and other shoppers let this person get away w/ it??? around here the mgrs would just tell the person that they are only allowed to buy a reasonable amt and have to leave some for other shoppers. i have seen it happen at the supermarket b4. and if the mgrs didn't do it, i know other shoppers would speak up en masse and embarrass the person in front of everyone in the store. if something is really good usually there are at least one or 2 people there all the time grabbing their share.
if you don't want to confront the person in the store, i would call corporate and complain that the mgrs are letting people buy wholesale quantities of items that they are reselling. most corporations really, really do not like to hear that at all. many products come a dozen or so per case. if somebody buys more than a couple cases of any product, they are buying wholesale quantities and corporate offices would start cracking down on the mgrs of the store for allowing that to happen.
and just b/c it's on clearance and somebody has a coupon doesn't mean the store likes people to buy mass quantities so they can get rid of it. they would rather somebody paid cash/credit. believe me, it costs way more than the 8 cents per coupon for the store to process coupons. it takes time for the cashier to scan each and every individual coupon, takes more time for the person who counts down the drawer at the end of the cashier's shift, somebody has to sort, bundle, write up and mail all the coupons in for redemption. and then the store has to wait months to get their money back and then they are constantly getting audited and have to pull the paperwork to prove they have sufficient inventory.
