I was reading SC posts-and she says her father has won 7 times in the Powerball lottery, never the big win, the most being 10000. The entire family seems to have talents...

I have most of supper in the crock pot. The chicken is just about defrosted, so I have to cube and cook it, then throw it in. I'm making some sort of white chicken chili soup/stew stuff. Never made it. Mom gave the recipe, says it's delicious. We shall see. (Pretty sure I won't like it -- don't care much for beans, don't like chicken).
Thanks again for the recipe. Turned out great. Just DH and I and plenty for leftovers. Just what I needed to get to watch the ballgame.

I keep only what I know I (and my family) will logically use before it expires or until we get sick of it. Sure, I could buy enough shampoo for 5 years, but frankly, I don't want to see that damn Root Awakening or Suave in five years! laugh out loud
The funny thing is that I buy all this stuff, but it goes immediately into the gs bins. Or sits in bags until I get a chance to get it in the bins. laugh out loud But hubby is forever running out of stuff, because I don't really stockpile HBA items a lot. I always figure there will be a deal when we need it. I mean, I save a couple bottles back, so I have backup in the closet, but shelves and shelves of it? Nope, goes right into the gs pile. I need the money more than I need the shampoo, kwim? That's why I cannot wait 'til hubby's promotion/raise comes through, because then I can slow the train down to the point where I can get off if I want to. I do not intend to be a career garage saler.

I think the first woman's husband has had it. Why buy another 400 boxes of pasta when you have 1 years worth already. Do they eat pasta for breakfast, lunch AND dinner every day (that would get old quick). If so, why buy the 1100 boxes of cereal?

The second girl, with the kid and the pregnant lady IN THE DUMPSTER had gloves on, but Nono2 her kid and the pregnant lady did not.

Retired nurse is at least sane, but walking 7 miles everyday picking up coupons? Seems to take all day, every day.

I refused to watch Nathan. I saw enough on 20/20 of him to last a lifetime (and his cute little Jell-O 20/20 symbol) that he did NOT DONATE.
Yes, he definitely seemed to begin to understand that maybe, just maybe his wife has a problem.

I thought the second girl was nice, but a little clueless, and a little too driven in her goal of shopping.

I knew there was some drama about the jello. Do you remember what it was exactly?

I admit that I do accumulate more than my family will use. If I only accumulated what we used, we'd be out of it in no time since my DH finds any excuse to give as much of our stockpile away as possible. laugh out loud I swear, if you ask him for his shirt, he'd give you his pants and shoes too. Makes me heart him sooo much!
I definitely get more than we need, especially if it's a MM. It's inevitable that someone will ask for something from my parents church or my niece & nephews school, etc...so some stuff is there "just in case". A few things are purchased solely to be donated (like Suave) and gather in the garage until I get my butt to find a place to donate. And I'm like your DH too- if you ask me for one thing, you'll get much more. If you say you need toothbrush, you'll get a toothbrush and deodorant and shampoo and razors and possibly Sobe and Chef Boyardee (still)!

Same here. And selling stuff at a GS was the only way I made it through the summer. Yeah, I'd like to have the nice razors for myself or whatever...but I'd also like a few bucks to, you know, live.

All I remember is that he was paid to take it but had something on the order of 10000 boxes of jello in his garage. When 20/20 did a few minutes on him, he took the time to make a 20/20 logo out of some of it (and they had to get the camera real high above to see it) in front of his garage. On 20/20, he never mentioned donating at all.

He's just an organized hoarder in my book.

:soap box: IMO, folks with $1 doubles all the time at groceries have it easy :stepsdownfromsoapbox: (but don't tell PGF and others from Ohio in the Kroger thread I said that)

Are zoo pals and Hefty Waverly collection related in any way? They are both Hefty products. Anyone know?

Not that I really believe much that she says without seeing it with my own two eyes.....Smilie

I plan to 'thank' her for a post every now and again just to remind her of my presence Big Grin

Sometimes I still have a hard time figuring out *exactly* what my family will use before expiration....I think more because I have not been doing this for more than about 1-1.5 yrs. to this extent.

That said, if we see that we have a lot of something expiring soon we just eat more of it for awhile. Rarely do we end up having to toss anything because of it being past expiration. And if it is a MM or really cheap stuff that is useful I will buy some to give away to whomever could use it.....IF there is plenty of stock Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)....have never had a problem giving away most things to people who want them and will use them!

so slippies was the only one who ended up getting banned over there?? Some of those people are nutso.. but it seemed like alot of the other AFC people were in agreement with us.. I got alot of reps from my few posts and some were from longer members there..

Had an aggravating night at home.. Whole family just acting like jerks.. so tired of everyone being in their own world, doing what they want, closing themselves up in their rooms, etc Frown so tired.. Things are gonna change here soon or heads are gonna roll Swordfight

My oldest son hasn't bothered to come up and eat dinner with the family the last 2 nights I cooked.. but, he gets up at all hours and cooks himself food. I was so mad when I was loading the dishwasher. One of my new SS pots has this nasty yellow bakes on grease on the outside of the pan.. scrubbed and scrubbed but wouldn't come clean.. suggestions?
Found out DS has decided to fry hashbrowns this afternoon before I got home and made a grease mess..

That's craziness. Who in heaven's name needs that much, other than just to say they did it??

And yeppers on the hoarder thing. Both him and the first girl. Organized, definitely, him more than her, but hoarder just the same. No household needs that much junk.

And I hear ya on the dollar doubling. I'm getting ready for HT's SD and man, if my stores did this all the time, I can't even imagine all the great deals I'd be able to get!!

I think the only things I throw out due to expy dates are things that I bought to "try", or I thought I would start using more of, like soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, BC dessert thingies, etc. Although I usually go through my pantry and get close-to-expiration things and donate them quickly to prevent having to throw away anything.

Does anyone else's stockpile get lopsided? Like loads of pasta but no pasta sauce? Or lots of rice but nothing to serve it with? Or am I the only one? look around
