So... if I'm going shopping today, I am looking for planters nuts and cheap clearance?? Is that really all there is?

If you go shopping today..you are to look at the pretty Keurigs. You are to contemplate buying one for each of us.

While you are there don't forget to check out the clearance toys. Our Ms. Mavis can never have enough toys bounce

wave Howdy! Just slurping coffee and catching up. Nothing much on today's agenda. I do almost have the urge to go see what's up with the KMart clearance, but there isn't really anything I need. And if I go and it hits 90% (I don't think it is yet) I might be tempted to buy some of the large outdoor things. I am currently swearing I am not doing the whole huge display next year. I said that last year too.laugh out loud

Gotta look back - I know one of you wants the light/music show thing, I can look for that. Have you checked your store yet? I don't recall seeing them, but wasn't looking either. If they have them and you miss it, I might be able to get one here and mail it. Postage would be a lot but at 90% off, it might be worth it.
Quote from ank220 :
Oooh... I just had a thought. What was the dumbest thing you bought last year just because you had a coupon for it?
For me it was the solar lights at Target. I bought around 9 of them, and they are still in my closet unused.
I got some of those. I have little lanterns hanging on short shepherd's crooks around the pool. I light them with candles just if we are out there. I thought the lights would be nice and light up every night. Some work, some don't. They don't get enough sun. I had a coupon in the ground but the dogs keep knocking them over. Or maybe it's me and the garden hose.

does anybody also feel like the price of toilet paper has really sky-rocketed and good deals are few and far-between?
Yes. Not that long ago you could walk in and find something on sale for $5 for 12 double rolls. My only requirement is that it HAS to be 2-ply. Now, if you can find it for $5.50 it's a really good deal. HyVee had Paseo a while back 12 dbl rolls, and I think it was under $4. I should have bought 20 packages.

HyVee people -- if they have Angle Soft and Paseo for the same price or close -- check the square footage -- Paseo has more.

just wondering what to do with several cases of K-Y.....
When I read Ank's post, KY was what popped into my head -- but I don't have cases. Although, it did come in handy once. We needed some Vaseline for some plumbing we were doing and it wasn't in the plumbing tool box. Couldn't find it. bulb Grabbed a bottle and it worked. But the rest of it sits in a closet. That's one of those things that you really just don't want to go around asking people. "Hey, I have a bunch of extra lube, need some"?

the side salad is on the dollar menu online
that is how they get you. people are too lazy to call and cancel
All right, who are you and what did you do with slowtech?

Cheap Dieting eating -- I will get the double cheeseburger off the $1 Menu and throw away the bun, but I guess that only works if you low carb.

Subway will make any footlong a salad and the last time I did it, it was still $5. You still get to pick all the toppings just like a salad so you can load it up with veggies. I got roast beef and was actually pretty impressed and I like the shredded lettuce. I couldn't eat the whole thing at once either.

We have a subscription to Mopar Muscle magazine that I need to get online, find a deal and renew. It's not one you can get cheap either. Anyway, in the mail the other day we got a dvd from them. I usually just throw junk mail right in the trash without even opening it. Figured it was little clips showing what they were selling trying to get you to subscribe. I only kept it on the off chance that hubby might want to watch it. Good thing I did. You have to return the damn thing or you will be charged for it. I really wish we didn't like the this magazine so much. I wouldn't renew and would call them and tell them exactly why I am not renewing my subscription.

Teehee You could slip it in the bottom of a goodie bag for a new mom - especially if she's going to BF. Your body doesn't produce it's natural lubrication if you are bf-ing. Probably also be funny if you are going to a bridal shower (depending on the crowd, I guess.)

RMHD is a good place to unload any trial sized products that you have sitting around. They love the little trials. I'm thinking of using trials as fillers when possible from now on. I used to think of them as wasteful, but if I need a little filler and have a q - why not?

Just heard from SIL. Grandma is going to have the surgery. Sounds like they'll be drilling a hole to relieve the pressure. We don't know exactly when yet, but sometime today. Pray for the family - Mom & Aunties/Uncles are very upset and worried.

I do that all the time. If the word is "cou" my fingers just type coupon. That one didn't have chance with it being "coup".

I am in the jury pool for Jan., Feb., and Mar. Got a written notice that I have to show up Wed. morning -- unless the call in thing changes it. I have very few clothes. I don't enjoy clothes, don't like wearing them, HATE shopping for them. What I have is shorts, 2 pair of jeans, and one or two pair of nicer pants. I know I have one nice blouse to match one pair of the slacks. I have a couple more decent tops but they are sleeveless. This means I have to go in there and try on those pants. I don't want to. Then, if I actually to go for multiple days I am going to have to come up with something nice to wear. No, I will not show up in a court room in jeans. (Not having a "wardrobe" has nothing to do with not being able to afford it. I can, that isn't a problem. I HATE shopping for clothes.)

I used to have a lot of nicer, dressier things. We just don't go anywhere that I need or want them. My idea of a super fantastic really good time is fishing. This requires comfy shorts and a t-shirt or tank top that is going to get worm and fish stuff on it.

The trick here is to call in as late in the day as possible, that way they have enough people by the time you call in. Wink Has worked 3 times for me!

i could do so much damage off the dollar menu.

wait a minute!!! i'm checking the calories for the snack wrap and the side salad is on the dollar menu online Angry! somebody is getting a phone call today. i'm just getting sick and tired of people getting overcharged or paying for what i don't want.

i'm just tired of getting nickel and dimed to death.
sorry for the ranting.
I read that people actually spend MORE on the value menus. Because it is cheap - they order more - and spend more overall.

I am with you on the nickled and dimed stuff. And if we are good shoppers - we aren't supposed to complain - because we already got a good deal. I don't know how many times I have let things go at the store because they would scrutinize my receipt and say "Well - you only PAID $___"

I got some gold peak tea at the commissary the other day. The sign said BOGO - coupons available at checkout. The bottles were 89 cents. I bought 16. Figured I would pay for 8.

I got to the checkout and said "I need the coupons for gold peak." She nodded. she scanned my qs (had overage on beneful and tic tacs). My balance was $58 - which I paid with Walgreens Register Rewards.

I started to leave abd said "Wait! Did you apply the Gold Peak coupons?"

She said "No. We don't have any."

GRRRRRR

I walked over to CS and plopped my tea up there to get a refund. The CS person waved the coupon at me and said "These expired YESTERDAY!"

Well - how in the heck am I supposed to know when they expired?? THEY had the coupons. I said - I only got them today because there is a sign TODAY that says they are BOGO TODAY!

Then she looked at my reciept and saw I only paid $2 and something OOP. She didn't think she could give me a refund because I didn't "pay" anything.

Pardon me? I did PAY. I PAID $58 in Register Rewards. Those RRs could be used for something else - besides mislable Gold Peak tea! I asked for a refund back in money or RRs. I didn't care which.

I hate it when they think you don't have any right to complain because you used coupons, got a good deal, whatever.

That is one thing I like about Target. They usually just scan your reciept or coupon - and don't scrutinize your entire reciept and act like you are a PIA just because you are trying to save money.

I DID get my money back though. Smilie

TN, I finally found those darn Planters nuts. They were at my reg Ts. On the bottom shelf, not directly below the planters nuts. They are in stand up boxes with the top off at a diagonal. .
Thanks. I will look there. I haven't been able to find those yet.

90% at both Targets here....had some decent finds. Got a couple of the princess towels and found some more kids pj's at the T. I don't usually go to. Two of the wooden Thomas trains. Also found the Karcher pressure washer down from around $100 to about $25 and we have been wanting one of these! Figured I would totally miss it with all the Christmas clearance going on and everything. Overall a very good day Smilie

i pay for toilet paper too b/c my runs are just too small for shenanigans and cvs ecb deals haven't been all that good for a long time so i've stopped going.

does anybody also feel like the price of toilet paper has really sky-rocketed and good deals are few and far-between? my stockpile is really dwindling and i'm starting to get a bit worried. i have tons of napkins. wonder how they are as toilet paper???

*snip*
Never really many good deals on TP here either. My strategy is usually to use any excess RR's or OYNO/P catalinas to buy this at 'sale' price.....burn them on that and at least I am spending them on something we really need. We have a pretty good stock right now.

Sunup and I were apparently at the 180th street store at the same time yesterday morning. Found some ok deals, but I am VERY happy I found 2 sets of queen flannel sheets.

168th & Maple was crap.

72nd Far North (by the hospital) was still at 75% last night. Found some hidden clearance but didn't buy it at 75% not worth driving back out for 90% if and when they ever get there.

Crossroads had nothing left! All converted to the Great Save Event.

Wanted to check out a few more stores but this wind is brutal today.

And NO it is not pathetic to get excited over dirt cheap paper products! woot

I, too, am so sick of the nickel and dime-ing...Imagine if you took just .10c from every person that touched or spoke to you in a day. That shit adds up especially when you are a Target or a Walmart and you have XXX thousand customers per XXX ya know. What are those schemes call worms or something.
