setsail - not sure what insurance will pay for. i think they might pay for chiropractor. i have to finish the 4 pages of health paperwork they sent me and send back, first. sigh. and then go to yet another doctor or may be a few. i think i will need to have an orthopedist look at both my knee and shoulder because the knee keeps locking up and is still very painful. can't put any pressure or bend with left leg. ditto shoulder - can't lift even a bowl of soup or a thick magazine with right hand without it hurting. that's abnormal. and then of course someone needs to look at my still swollen and hurting belly. again.
l2b, as for how long: when i saw my doc he had said it would take atleast 3-4 weeks from then on for pain to lessen - that was 2 weeks ago and 1 week after accident. so i figure i need to give this atleast another couple of weeks before i see how i feel. both lawyer and ER had said about 2 months before you'll know whether pain is gone compleyou have longer term issues.
cathi, was it you that said naproxen? or cali? can't remember, but yes since i can't take narcotic painkillers, i have been given prescription strength doses of naproxen plus a prescription muscle relaxant that knocks me out. i just have to take naproxen carefully because i am allergic to aspirin. did you guys know that naproxen and ibuprofen are in the same family as aspirin? i did not. and supposedly if you are allergic to one, you can be to the others, too. good thing to know, i told the worried-looking pharmacist. he looked at me disapprovingly and clucked his displeasure with the doc's prescription. it's why i love that pharmacy. they are ON THE BALL.

Looking back - I could see so many signs. Even as an infant - he liked being carried facing outward. Instead of "playing" with his toys - he lined them up and put them in a pile. He did so many things over and over and over and over. Even right now, I think he is watching Mississippi Burning for the 8957th time. I don't know. I lost count after the first couple thousand....

I was actually the first person that figured out what was going on with my son. His teachers just couldn't figure it out. His doctor didn't know. Often people thought I was just overly concerned.
I read this. I read that. It kind of fit. Each thing kind of fit but kind of didn't.
Then I read the diagnosis for autism. I though OMG! That makes SO many things make SO much sense for SO many years!!!! It is like I felt it all through my body,,, and I KNEW.
I told the Social Worker, "I think my son is autistic." She warned me about reading into things - but at the next meeting she said the doctor had agreed.
His official diagnosis is Pervasive Developmental Disorder. Milder on the range on the Autism Spectrum.
But they have found out so much more sicse that time. More ways to diagnose and more ways to help.

My little guy was so excited to finally go to school this morning. I warned his teacher that he was hyper, and she said the entire class was. Bless her heart this morning!!
