Well, that's my cranky rant for the morning.

And now I'm going to change a baby, get a cup of coffee, tame the toddler, and consider taking a nap.

Regarding reading and not posting:
I guess some of us posters don't want to interrupt several thoughts either. When several of ya'll were pulling the AFC pranks, the rest of us mostly were twiddling our thumbs.

I Bowdown to Nyquil again this morning. Yeah for a good nights sleep.

Hoping my Dr is open today and I actually get an appt. My bb trip has been cancelled, as I can't give this to my SIL and her brood.

Post Edit: Dr appt for 1020 this morning!

Good Morning! No school here today.I need to work my job so I need the kiddo's to be silent.

Hope you all have a great day.

Rant: Do you any of you find yourselves annoyed with people who come to read our chat but never chat themselves. Or the noobs who pop in to ask questions but never ever take the time to say thanks after you have answered their questions. Anyway, that's my vent. I suppose if they want to believe that we are stupid and our bible lays within these pages, it's all good, it's all good.

BTW I woke up crying this morning, so I am in a sour mood.

TN:, that sucks Sorry you missed the bb game.

Sometimes I read and don't post, I just don't have anything to contribute the the conversation.
But I like keeping up with the buzz. Otherwise in a day or two I'm lost .
Newbie Q : How do you know who's here ?, Or that anyone is here ?

But seriously, I think this thread can be a little intimidating to a newbie when they are already absorbing so much info ,and seem a little exclusive since you all are so friendly and obviously know each other well .

I did an experiment today. Practice fondant cake for my dd's bday. It went well. The cleanup was waaaay worse than making the cake. At one point it looked like a powdered sugar bomb exploded all over my kitchen. It was kind of fun. Can't wait to do my dd's real one!!! Surprised at how palatable marshmallow fondant actually is OMG

hug hope you feel better soon and everything opens back up there soon so you can get to your Dr. if need-be!

Oooooo I wanna see - what's it about??
Oh, the marshmallow fondant is what I used for my daughter's Cinderella cake and it was so easy! The hardest part was kneading the color into the fondant - that took some muscles. And everyone commented on the fact that it tasted pretty good, too. You definitely MUST post pictures of the real thing!!

Two-hour delay at school, which means no kindergarten. Yay! I felt so yucky last night, I basically just spent the evening on the couch and made hubby wait on me hand and foot. laugh out loud But I feel so much better this morning. Not up to shopping with 3 little ones, but I think I will go to the recycling center. Our inserts had free Dunkin Donuts coupons, and I only have 5 so far... Big Grin

And I agree that this thread can be intimidating, even for some of us who are "regulars"! Wink

I think what annoys me is this:

Noob--I am lost, help me.
TCC--OK..here's your help..you are not lost..we are helping.
Noob---dead silence...
TCC--You are freaking welcome!

They come ask for help or ask their questions, then they move along, when they get stumped, they come back again. Like we are their personal shopping aid.

A thank you would be nice.

That's my rant. I am in rare form today. Waking up crying just really got to me. I said to DH, I am so sorry I took your ice-cream and I am sobbing, he's hugging me telling me it's OK it was just a dream and you can eat all my ice-cream anytime.

On another note:

I just got off the phone with a friend in Montana. He said that since
early this morning the snow has gotten nearly waist high and is still falling. The
temperature is dropping below zero and the wind is increasing. His wife
has done nothing but look through the kitchen window all day. He says that if
it gets much worse, he may have to... let her in.

Totally agree! And I pop in and out of here more than any thread on SD, although I read quite a few. Not because I want to grab deals and run, but because I don't talk a lot in real life unless I know someone well...and I hate not fitting in, so I'm quiet a lot so I don't stick my foot in my mouth! laugh out loud

FWIW, I consider TCC to be my home thread, even though I'm usually the quiet one in the corner.

Someone asked about knowing who's here. You can look at the bottom of the page & see a list. I have to admit I'm one of the people who stay "invisible" bc every now & then temptation overwhelms me, & I just HAVE to look at some of those threads in the lounge. And I don't particularly want to be seen there.Big Grin Have you seen some of those threads?EEK!
Maybe I should just get all visible-like again, & quit giving in to those temptations.

Well your not a noob.
You don't ask questions and then ignore us.
So it's all good.

Don't worry about sticking your foot in your mouth.
I certainly do not.

Those who do know me here, have come to know my personality and from that they can pretty much tell what kind of person I am in real life.

So pipe in..and put some chocolate syrup on those toes before you insert them in your mouth!

Ohh - hats are addictingly easy to crochet! Well, most of them are. I found one that I liked online and after about 3 1/2 days trying to figure out the pattern, I gave up.
After I feel proficient at all the stitches, I will start looking at patterns. It all looks overwhelming right now, but is just bc I am relearning it all. Every time I get the yarn out, my 4 yo asks "Are you making Lily her hat?" laugh out loud I have to tell her every time that I am just practicing, but soon I will make Lily her hat. Silly kid.

There is a way to find out but I always forget... I'm so helpful today.

Yeah, I guess the thread could be intimidating. I suspect it depends on the day you come in here too. The best thing to do is to jump in and start posting though. We're usually a pretty friendly bunch and when we do get our britches out of stitches, well, we *usually* can get back to normal after a little mutual Slap and hug

I'd like to know this too! Got my eye on a couple of little things. I was going to go out, but it's just not happening today. Frown

I feel Sick

To keep the thread on track... my toddler's poo was runny and red today. I can't recall her eating anything red, but I couldn't tell if it was bloody or just reddish. She flushed it before I could inspect it good enough. (Who would've ever thought I'd be a bit perturbed that I didn't get a chance to inspect someone's poo??)

It'll get easier the more you do. Smilie If you haven't looked already, there's lots of good videos on youtube.

Also, if you master the single crochet stitch, you could work a pretty simple hat from that in a decent time. Smilie Hope it's lots of fun!

I totally mixed the food coloring in just after the marshmallows were melted (same time as when I added the little bit of water and vanilla) and before I started adding the powdered sugar. Worked like a charm! Had read this on a couple of different sites that said it was much easier that way. Will definitely post a pic. I was surprised at how good the fondant tasted too....I don't know why I was surprised - marshmallows and powdered sugar mixed together - what's NOT to love there!!! Smilie

Arrgh, DD failed her driver's exam this morning. Sadwalk I feel moer than a little at fault, since I didn't work a ton with her on city driving with...stoplights and all. Frown We have to drive 45 minutes to any town with any amount of them, and I guess I just didn't think about it.

So, apparently she didn't stop completely in the turn lane and then turned in front of a car when the light turned green (no arrow). Ugh...two weeks until she takes it again, guess I'll be going to the big city a lot between now and then! Good news is there's a T there. Big Grin
