Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

Hey, dogs are great! Especially golden retrievers. Dogs and humans have comrades for many moons. Wouldn't be without one!

Sure they are, love em (used to run a kennel for a guy, 24x7, lived there), but they're high maintenance.

If I leave the house for the weekend on a trip, I fill the food and water bowls, clean the litter boxes, and the cats are fine. Can't do that with a dog unless he's an outdoor with auto-feeders (I'm not a fan of outdoor pets, it's bad for them, my cats are indoor only).

LOL have to agree on the ease of owning a cat issue. We have both a cat and dog and they are both indoor spoiled family members LOL and it is hard to go away or get away with the dog. Cant take her, she is not a good rider...icky sicky so we have found that a dog sitter works great but she still will have to stay outside for those few days in the outdoor kenel area and we just dont like doing that...hence no colder weather trips Frown
Yes we did try a boarding Kennel one time and will never ever do that again. This one got high rank and reviews in our area and we were not happy with the care our old girl got...i swear it took a week for her to become un tramatized......
cats are great.... like you say, feed them, and able to leave them.... they are sooo very easy....

I have a cat that was a stray - never had cats before and figured with a barn she might come in handy. She's so used to being outside that that's what she prefers. In winter she hangs out in the garage/shop. We bring her in the house sometimes and she pretty much wants to go right back outside. Can't free feed that one - she gorges (from being a stray). Been there dont that - she gained too much weight. Such a sweetie though - had her since '97 and she's still going strong. Figure she was at least a year old when I found her and she'd already been spayed.

A friend of the family is a quilter. She offered to incorporate some of Dad's ties into a quilt for my sister. It is absolutely beautiful! I'm jealous of course but don't want to ask her to do one for me as well. My sister was Dad's caregiver for the last 7 years of his life (after his stroke). She deserves all the good stuff she's gotten from his friends.

Just be careful when feeding dogs, or any animal, people food. There are lots of "harmless" everyday foods that are highly toxic to them.

I always recommend talking to your vet about what the danger foods are. There are a lot out there.

Have you ever given a dog corn on the cob! That is hilarious. I have a Shih tzu and a mut/dachshund mix. Both eat it almost eerily like a human.

We give our dogs the cob while we hold it for them. Flea biting to the hilt! Quite humorous! And are they ever fast!!

We're pretty much up on what's not good for dogs. My husband always give them tidbits from his plate which I don't like but keep away from onions, chocolate and the other harmful things to dogs. Because of him feeding them human tidbits, they love him more than they do me.Crying And I feed them, clean up their poop, train them, and what do I get?! They love their daddy more.
